  1. You mean something other than the mission editor's waypoints?
  2. Great suggestion, IMO Could include: fuel in hours/minutes at current burn rate current fuel in pounds/kilograms joker bingo
  3. The logic to show or hide pylons is module specific. Some modules keep their pylons even if you don't load weapons, and some choose to hide them. I think this suggestion will be more successful if you make it for each individual aircraft in the separate forums. --gos
  4. FYI, getting stuck in the FPL page (where FPL doesn't work anymore) has been reported.
  5. I thought about this a bit more, and in the real GNS430 you should be able to define an arbitrary track to your waypoint either when setting up a direct-to, when adding a Flight Plan waypoint, or by using the OBS button. This would allow you to fly a route relative to any radio beacon using only the GNS430. The NAVdefault CDI will show you displacement from the "ideal" track, as will the XTK field. In this way, if you wanted to setup an approach course for a non-published approach in zero visibility (using your radar altimeter for terrain clearance), you could still overlay that track on the map and fly it as a final approach course to said runway. --gos
  6. FYI, I confirmed XTX is broken in 1.5.7.11476.394 (stable) but working properly in the nightly build. The fix(es) related to XTK should make it into publicly-available builds soon . --gos
  7. I filed someone else's suggestion for mapping bullseye. I don't think the ME allows any kind of arbitrary point definition though that isn't on a unit's route. As to saving user points, I'll ask.
  8. Okay. Without a destination airport or flight plan, the behavior of the NS430 and the GNS430 is quite different and won't let you select the airport from the WPTapt page. I filed a sighting with the expectations.
  9. Will test tonight. Normally proc defaults to showing you approaches for the last waypoint in your flight plan (or current direct-to destination) but if you can't change that, that's a bug.
  10. Agreed. There are a number of pages and popups using the wrong inputs to move within/between fields, and I just need to sit down and write them all down into a single bug report. Will try to do that tonight.
  11. I filed this as a suggested enhancement. thx! --gos
  12. No news that I have heard. Asking for an official statement on the business plan for the NS430 is a reasonable request though, IMO.
  13. Will people who don't own the Harrier be able to join servers that have the USS Tarawa instantiated in missions?
  14. That was a quote from someone in the IDF, in the original news report in Hebrew. I linked it a few pages back. --gos
  15. I believe this is already fixed internally, will verify tomorrow.
  16. The bomb looks like an AN-M66 filled with Amatol/TNT (single ring)
  17. If they blamed it on a bad software update or the oxygen delivery system, nobody would have written an article.
  18. Instrument Rating is not license specific in the US, but it is category/class specific. Mine is ASEL. I don't have my CPL, but that's my next goal. --gos
  19. Community A-4E: October 2017 Update Community A-4E: October 2017 Update Trick or Treat! Slow month from the team, so first the trick... While the PBR conversion continues in the background and our cockpit slowly improves, the major 3D improvements we are working on spent a month on hold while our lead 3D artist was traveling in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean.... We do have a tiny treat though, think of it as a single M&M or something... In the last month, we did get a bit of time to play with some visual effects with the radar. While the AN/APG-53A circuitry requires several minutes to warm up properly, it's possible to enable the display before all the circuitry is operating properly. Since users will inevitably turn on the radar circuitry at first opportunity or forget to warm it up properly, we wanted to model what one "might" see on the display as it warms up. This video demonstrates one of the effects we've been trying out... it starts off displaying static, then about 45 seconds in, the return begins to come into focus. Eventually, there's a slight analog "wobble" on the input data, which looks nice, though is probably over modeled. Anyway, here's the video: qRVjzqoifTo The rest of the code changes this past month have been internal plumbing and debug improvements for some future changes, but nothing really visible to the pilot. Oh, and I got my instrument rating. Thanks again for everyone's support! --gos

  21. I was more-or-less with you until this assessment. Nothing more capable is in the pipe. Essentially, the USN/USAF have bet everything on the success of the platform, so it'll succeed one way or another, by simply throwing money at it. On paper, it'll should be a better platform than the F-18, and we've already built more than the F-22 resulting in a far lower per-unit cost. Enough partner nations are signed up and apparently happy that I'm sure it'll do fine.
  22. -50C is for hot cocoa and bourbon, not flying
  23. Best of luck to you, can't wait to fly it. --gos
