[How To] Export ALL Indicators like MFCD via ViewPorts
Ratcatcher replied to icemaker's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
No Problem, please see attached. Hope they work for you! I do know that the changes make no sense what so ever to me. I had the 2 mfd's work straight off, a couple of otehrs just needed the extra code adding and the last 3 or 4 needed the coordiantes moving radically and a major resizing of the exports... weird! Hopefully these are what you need. UHF_FREQUENCY_STATUS ( This file is actually freq_status_init. not to be confused with FREQ_STATUS_page ) UHF_PRESET_CHANNEL UHF_REPEATER -

Ratcatcher replied to icemaker's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Well after last night and quite a bit of this morning I have finally got everything back to where it was before the latest patches!!! Please, please ED dont mess with these again I dont think my heart could take it. Thanks again to all those that take the time to post their findings and offer assistance to us mere mortals  Oh and in case anyone has the same setup as me I include my monitor config. I run : Total of 4 monitors - 3 x 24"s in eyefinity at 5040x1050 and the fourth 23" touchscreen at 1920x1080. Although I use the fourth below the middle trio I have it in windows on the right. (if you see what I mean ) I now have all exports correctly aligned and run it with Loz's profile in HELIOS on teh fourth monitor. ( Just got to figure out how to get the radios working again ) Cheers -

Thanks very much for posting this and passing on the info that Hellfrog has worked out. Would you mind posting some of your other configs? So far I have the MFD's working ( they worked right off the bat ) however following your directions I have got the RWR and digital clock to display. However having copied the other files exactly the same I cannot get the CMSP,CMSC or any of the UHF radio frequencys to show up??? So close but yet so far!!! Any assistance gratefully received! -

Hello Mate, Just thought I would update you following a "little" upgrade :) I have just gone for the ATI 6950 2 gig card ( with FLEX ) and a SSD for Operating system and A10, so am now running.... "Deep Breath"... 3x24" monitors under eyefininty at a res of 5040x1050 1x23" Acer touchscreen underneath for my instruments @ 1920x1080 The touchscreen is setup with HELIOS and I have now exported the MFD's plus CMSP,CMSC,RWR,UHF controls and Digital Clock. This is using Easy Monitor Cofigurator. HELIOS Im running with Lozs panel. and heres the good bit... FPS 40 to 60 while running the training missions... YES!!!!! Boy am I a happy camper, though did takes ages faffing about but it was definetly worth it, oh yes!!!! If anyone is in any doubt, the talent behind those 3 bits of software should be knighted especially HELIOS, absolutely brilliant. I thank you all for writing these and taking the time to share them to the community. Because without them and of course the many others that help this community, I would still be staring at my monitor wishing for a miracle to get a multi monitor solution up and running. Gadroc, Loz and IceMaker... :thumbup:Gentlemen, I salute you! With a special mentioned in dispatches to Madtommy for compiling this guide!!! -
Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
Ratcatcher replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Hey thx for the replies Congo & fzfq3m ( btw that's a really hard name to repeat, where did it come from??? ) Congo, your experiences with a 5 screen set up ( bloody nice setup btw  ) makes me wonder about going down the same route as yourself, and changing gfx card. I had a look at some multi monitor gfx's and saw that ati do a 6950 "flex" that supports up to 5 monitors, would that be quicker than your 5870 6? Also have you tried exporting mfd's and such onto your 4th monitor, looking at your screen shot it looks like a no, but wondering if you have messed about with it at all? Currently I'm running HELIOS without any issues ( well other than the latest patch has apparently messed up some of the buttons!!! ) & I must say I am loving what it brings to the table. I really like the way I can monitor (no pun intended ) my instruments by just flicking my eyes down instead of having to move my head using trackir. Sounds a small point but really helps my scan and feels much more natural. ( The fact that my trackir doesn't seem to like to pan down in game hasn't helped ) Currently I'm getting on ok not having the mfd's exported and hasn't stopped me from getting back into enjoying what is quite simply an astoundingly deep and fulfilling sim! -

Hey thx I will be sure to check it out ( box of tissues on standby for my blubbing like a baby when it all goes horribly wrong! ). Actually I have been messing about all week trying to improve my fps after finally taking the plunge and ordering a acer 23" touch screen. Now that did seem like a good idea at the time however I have now got a number of issues with what I'm trying to run OK quick recap of what I have and what I'm trying to do with it!!! 1: running 3x24" monitors in eyefinity @ 3840x1024 2: 4th monitor acer 23" touchscreen @ 1920x1080 3: running HELIOS on 4th monitor 4: Exporting MFD's,RWR,etc onto 4th monitor 5: sys spec: intel i7 @2.7 o/c 4.0, GFX - 2x 5870's, 6 gig RAM, win7 64 OK, running that drags my fps right back down to <10. Having done a fair bit of reading on here and over at SCsimulations forum I've concluded that it just cant run well enough once I expand the desktop onto the 4th monitor. ( I guess too many pixels ). With just HELIOS running on 4th monitor ( 1920x1080 ) with the x3 screens @ res of 3840x1024 I'm getting 60(ish) FPS on the 1st quick mission. Once I alter my .lua to span onto the 4th monitor the fps plummets. I have read that there is an issue with ATI and also that if if you put the 4th monitor onto another graphics card it hits fps. Well thats what Im doing. (the eyefinity monitors have 2x vga and 1 powered display port. The touchscreen goes into the other gfx card ona dvi connector. I can not think of another way to try and export the mfd's. The only thoughts I have left are ... a) live without the exporting ( not really wanting that ) b) buy a different graphics card that will run 4 monitors off just the one card. ( would that signifcantly improve my fps? ) c) go to a single big monitor ( 30"/27" ) plus the touchscreen. ( so no issue with monitors going to second gfx card and lower res ) d) I suppose the final "wish list" setup would be to use the curved Herculean screen that I read about on simhq last year. That looks a fantastic setup. Edit....nearly forgot the obvious option... e) upgrade CPU and or graphics card, and if so what would be able to handle these resolutions and still give respectable fps? Anyways if any one has any ideas what I might be missing to get better fps please feel free to throw any ideas at me!!! Cheers -

Hey fzfq3m, Thanks again, and guess what... quickly tried the setting you suggested last night ( though ended up changing the 4th monitor res down to 1280x1024 )... YES!!! Quick mission is now running at 40fps, not quite as good as the 60fps but a whole lot better than <10! I also still need to look at disabling the 3d mfd's, hopefully that should give us a bit more. Oh yes, sorry for the confusion over 1.08... yep I'm also on the latest build for A10. Ok, thanks again for your help, lets see how I get on after some tweaking!!! rep inbound! -
Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
Ratcatcher replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Hi fzfq3m, Thanks very much for taking the time to try and help. Interesting idea about the resolution. The reason I have done it that way was thats how the monitors actually physically sit, ie 3 across the top and the fourth directly below the second. ie XXX _X_ so the combined horizontal distance is 3840 ( 3 x 1280 ) I then have then vertical of the top monitors ( 1024 ) added to the bottom monitor ( 900 ) giving me the 1924. I did it that way as I thought thats what it said to do in the guide, but seeing what you have written makes me think your way may be better, as it doesn't really matter where the screens are, so long as I can posistion the mfd's in the correct location on the 4th monitior. I will try disabling the mfds in the 3d view ( I had looked at that solution earlier as I have just downloaded the Ipit for the ipad and am trying to get that running ). With regards the graphic driver, yes I am on the latest, though I did try rolling back to an older one just to eliminate that as a possible conflict. I will have a proper look at this tomorrow, but thanks again for your thoughts, really appreiacted  Cheers -
Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
Ratcatcher replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Hey all, I haven't been around for a while and thought it was high time to fire up A10 again. Before the break I had been running 3 screens with eyeinfinity ( or possibly triplehead2go ) and a fourth screen as the instruments ( HELIOS ) plus the 2 MFD extended onto the 4th monitor as detailed here. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=62021&page=3 which followed Madtommys advice at teh start of this thread. Now at the time my frames were pretty good and I didn't have any issues other than spending an age getting the MFD's to align under the TM mfds. Ok so back to now... I've set everything back up - 3x24" monitors running under eyeinfinity (CAT 11.6 ) total res for that is 3840x1024. My fourth monitor is 22" @ 1440x900. Everything ok so far. I have then created a new .lua shown below. _ I have altered the options settings to reflect my extended desktop ( from 3840x1024 to 3840x1924 ). I fire up the sim, go into the first quick mission and am getting under 10fps when I am running without the fourth screen ( just 3840x1024 ) I'm hitting from 60-70 fps on the same mission. Anyone have any ideas what the problem is? And anyone else running a simmilar setup? Cheers in advance!!! -
Thats fine, but don't forgot VAT is going up from next year!!!

DCS:A10C - Question on external MFD's?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thanks for the suggestion, however I think I'm fairly sure now that it isn't a problem with eyeinfintiy, but as CyBerkut had thought ( thanks again to you! ), actually its crossfire. This weekend I had some time to really play about with it, and have had "some" success. First off previous attempts to disengage crossfire hadn't worked and it seems it took a re boot for the new setting to take effect. Once disabled I managed to succesfully add... 1st - My touch screen ( 10" running touch buddy ) 2nd- the 2 usb monitors ( these could now play video withou a problem ) So I had my 3x24" monitors creating 1 eyeinfinty group. Then had 3 additional monitors ( 2xusb,1 touch ) all running off the one computer. I feel a quote from the film Pulp Fiction where Mr Wolf cautions "Lets not start ....... .... ...... ..... just yet Gentlemen" Pretty much sums it up. I couldnt get LEAVU to run properly at the same time as the touch screen that was running touch buddy. The game ( which incidentally didnt seem to run any worse after switching off cross fire ) seemed to be struggling and stuttering. I also coulnt get any displays up on the usb monitors from LEAVU. I then went back to trying to run LEAVU from another networked computer, keeping the single touch screen and the 3x eyeinfinty group on my game machine. This, for God alone knows why, now doesn't run properly either. I haven't changed any settings since it last ran fine, but now I'm having a nightmare with LEAVU - which I know has nothing to do with this topic so I will stop before I start crying... Just about ready to give up on this, and just content myself with running DCS A10 with eyeinfinity and my touch screen (without crossfire and teh 2 usb monitors...what a waste! ) Just posting this to let anyone else tempted to try this setup hear my experiences! -
DCS:A10C - Question on external MFD's?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thanks guys for your continued thoughts, I had wondered about Crossfire too, last time I played with the ATI control panel it seemed reluctant to stop Cross fire, I will have a further play to see if once disengaged the monitors displays improve. Cheers again for your assistance. -
DCS:A10C - Question on external MFD's?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I dont think its actually DCS thats the problem, more so its eyeinfinty. It seems like its drawing too much power from the graphics card to allow them to run anything else effectively. ( Please Note - I know zip about how these things actually work so I'm just guessing ). But having disengaged eyeinfintiy ( disabling the 3xmonitor group ) I could run the 2 usb mini monitors without a problem. So I think I should be able to set up DCS with the 3x24" monitors as being seen as just the 1 monitor and an extra monitor ( either usb or the touch screen ) as a second monitor. I'm just not very confident that I could run such a setup while running eyeinfinity. If theres anyone else out there running eyeinfinity please let us know! - For info my Graphics Cards are 2xAti 5870's 1024mbs running in crossfire. -
DCS:A10C - Question on external MFD's?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Hi Mack, thanks very much for that info. Thats very useful to know. It seems it really is the eyeinfinity thats causing all the problems, if I had the money I would buy one of those curved screens! Oh well maybe a lottery win this Friday will sort out my woes! -
DCS:A10C - Question on external MFD's?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Glad to be of some help, now thinking about touchscreens, I have a small touchscreen, which has a normal vga connection. If I can get this running with eyeinfinty then I can just split the TVM off onto that. Keeping the small usb's for running LEAVU with the A10 (assuming Yoda updates LEAVU for it ). All this has reminded me of the "good old days" of pc gaming when most of the battle with a new game was getting the damn thing to run on the PC, let alone actually playing it! Still I can't wait to get my hands on the A10 expansion. Its looking truly superb! -
DCS:A10C - Question on external MFD's?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Not 100% I fully understand what your suggesting, if you mean using the existing eyeinfinty group ( 3x24" Monitors ) and then adding the 2 mini's ( 2x7" Mimo's ) using both the USB cables, then yes i have tried that as well as using just the one usb for each 7". Both ways, still no dice. I am already running LEAVU with out a problem through a LAN. My orginal post was to do with DCS A10, and whether they are going to allow the TVM image to be relayed via a lan or just the same as BS does it with its weapons views. The current problems have arisen becuase ( it would seem ) anyone using eyeinfinity (3 x screens as one group ) in addition to other monitors. Those secondary monitors will not relay information such as moving video or the LEAVU display, though they can display static images OK. It does mention in the mini monitors manual that they cannot display 3d graphics. Though as discussed earlier the LEAVU graphics run without a problem through the LAN on them. ( Of course these are pretty simple graphics and dont involve 3d rendering etc ). It would have just be less hassle to have the LEAVU running from just the one computer, but I can live with it. I would just really like to utilise the external monitors (and Cougar MFD's) for DCS A10. Thanks very much for your suggestions though, I will keep my fingers crossed for a working solution. I haven't had time to try the widescreen forum yet but if I get any joy I will post back here in case anyone else finds themselves in my situation. -

DCS:A10C - Question on external MFD's?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
It truly is sweet...when it all works! The usb screens I'm using are the Mimo 7" mini monitors ( http://www.mimomonitors.com/ ). They are quite neat and come on their own twist stand ( portrait/landscape), they have just the one output, a twin usb lead ( though it seems to work well just using the one usb ). The MFD's are from Thrustmaster and again are just plug and play with a usb lead. The MFD's dont fit exactly onto the monitors, but a little black insulating tape soon covers up the overlap! To program the MFD's while using LEAVU over a lan I used the freeware "Xpadder" ( thanks to Schizwiz for pointing me in the right direction )which was actually pretty straight forward after my initial minutes of staring blankly at the screen thinking "what the f...... do i do now" - If you take a look at the LEAVU thread ( http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=53464 ) it shows some differant kit running it all. -
DCS:A10C - Question on external MFD's?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Not sure if you do have eyeinfinity setup, looking at your pic it seems you are just using the one large monitor and the other smaller monitors are just recognised by the Graphics Card as additional monitors. Have you set them up by going into "Display Group/Create Group? Please see my setup pictured below, which hoepfully explains better than what I've just written! You can see that my 3 monitors are no.1 with the usb's designated 2 & 3. No.1 is an attached group in eyeinfinity. ( hope this makes sense ) -

EDIT - Well, some good news and bad news... Deigs - good news for you! The USB monitors do work with FC2 and Win7 64 on the one machine.... The bad news ... for me... Its eyeinfinity thats the problem, I disabled the 3 monitor group, so just used the central display for the game, and the USB monitors started working as they should. Video ran fine and I then booted up FC2 with Leavu and the display showed the radar, etc. I wonder if anyone else with eyeinfinity has found this problem? I will try my luck over at the widescreen gaming forum. As it stands I'm not sure I could go back to just using one screen to fly with. Looking at that one screen, it made flying kinda like doing up a tie with one hand...possible but really no fun at all!!! ( Sorry mods, I realise this is rapidly going off topic )
