You know thats almost a riddle. LOL Its a good job we all know that the former relate to a completely different item than the latter ones do!!! :D

Hey there, thanks for that. I'm not getting anywhere near that on either 1.5.4 or 2. Though i'm about to upgrade my system, so am hoping to see some improvements. Could you give us your PC specs and in-game setting please? Cheers
-
Thank you! Completely missed that 1. Now it all makes sense
-
I have ( through more luck than judgement ) worked out how to activate the guns and rockets, but are there any instructions/ expalantion as to what the controls actually mean and do? ( Or have I missed them??? ) Thanks!
-
Looking great! Roie, could I ask what FPS you get using the Rift?
-
Sounds like a very similar problem I posted about in the Gazelle section... It is apparently down to the mission settings. This will override your setting in options unfortunately. So if your joining someone else server and they have tool tips on in the mission parameters then so will you! Oh yes, I can only see a blank grey map as well in VR.
-
Many thanks for the clarification.

Thanks, glad it wasn't just me. I have seen others report this on other modules just to be told "turn it off in options" so didnt know if if was a localised problem ( Just the Gazelle ) or not. I will have to load up an ED plane and see if it still comes up. If it does I will raise it in the general forums, if it just effects addons I guess will leave it here? **EDIT** Mystery solved... the tool tips only appear in the tutorial mode. If I'm in the mission editor or a caned mission they dont appear.

THis Looks Interesting - Finch VR - VR hand controllers
Ratcatcher replied to KatBreath's topic in Virtual Reality
Yes looks interesting. The question will be how easily will these controllers be in integrate into a game. Especially existing games rather than those designed for this type of controller. ( i.e DCS! ) -
Does everyone else always get the tool tips coming up when you hover your cursor over an instrument? ( Despite turning it off in options ) Not sure if its a) just the gazelle b) just me! I'm running in VR with Oculus Rift. Beta 1.5 Computer specs: Motherboard - ASUS Sabretooth X79 CPU - IntelCore i7-3820 CPU @ 3.6GHz : Socket LGA2011 RAM - DDR3 Corsair 16GB Hardrive - Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500GB ( OS and DCS on same drive ) OS - Windows 10 64 Graphics Card - Radeon R9 Fury Strix DC3 OC 4096MB

Quick update on my screens going black issue... Can't actually remember if I read this solution in this thread or another, but I tried removing the USB3 input from the "approved" Inatek USB hub, left the sensor USB in it and hey presto, my rift "seems" to be sorted. I have had a go in DCS and Adrift both have played fine, so fingers crossed that has sorted the issue! Makes absolutley no sense and wasn't in the list of things from support to try, but hey its working!!!
-
Thanks for the suggestion. My rift connects directly into the HDMI port on my Graphics cards ( ATI fury R9 ). So I don't have any extensions or adapters, other than the supplied Rift HDMI cable. - A further side note...This is the third reply I have had from customer services... Given what is happening we're going to look into this further for you. That is going to take some time so plese be patient with us while we do that. Hmmm, not very impressed. I emailed them back saying they should at least try sending me a new HMDI cable, if that doesn't work, my rift should be exchanged or I will ask for a refund! I don't mind trouble shooting and so far have tried everything they have suggested along with everything else I have seen posted here and in other threads, but it comes to a point where I have bought their product, its not working as designed and I don't think its unreasonable to expect at least trying a different unit to see if that resolves things.

Options => Gameplay Tab => Tool Tips => Uncheck However...in my game doing that doesnt get rid of the tool tips,at least it doesnt in the Gazelle. On a side note, my issues with the rift crashing has now been escalated to their customer support, will see what they suggest ( Already had 2 replies from them asking me to try various things...here's a shocker ...they haven't worked... oh well third time lucky I guess... )
-
Well I had another issue come up last night in DCS with the displays going blank again. @lobo, have you had the blank screen happen in other programs? I will have to do more testing but the night before I played Adrift for quite a while without any crash but last night just playing DCS caused a crash within10-15 minutes.

Thanks for the heads up. I did have a close look at the pins and they all seem OK ( but hard to see really ). SO far all seems good but if I get any further issues I will try and contact support. Cheers!
-
That's interesting to hear, I have the Inateck card and have a few occasions when my screen went black ( though could still hear the game ). I unplugged the USB cable fromthe card and chose another slot. That seemed to solve the issue but will see if it re occurs.

Fuel cutoff lever and brake - Axis working?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Nope, I checked...then checked again! Its not that either. I have now assigned the levers to my hog and the axis levers work fine. Weird! Oh well I think I'm going to admit defeat on this one. Thanks again for all the suggestions guys. -
Fuel cutoff lever and brake - Axis working?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Thanks guys, still no joy with the Saitek quadrant. Must be an issue with that. I had previously messed with the banding's for an F86 profile on the quadrant, treating the levers as switches. I stoped using that profile and went back to the default one but maybe its possible that its settings has carried over and messed up the lever setting, will keep digging. -
Fuel cutoff lever and brake - Axis working?
Ratcatcher replied to Ratcatcher's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Hey Joey, thanks for the advice. I checked the axis movement for the levers in windows and they work perfectly. But in game movement of the levers is not graduated and simply shows far left then far right. I hooked up the Cessna trim wheel to see if that works... and it does! So I don't really know what the issue is but it seems just to relate to the Saitek device. -
Hey all, Loving the Gazelle at the moment but have a question about the above controls. I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong or there's a bug, but... I have a Saitek throttle Quadrant that I'm using for the above two controls. I have assigned them through the Axis command section but when I move them they do not smoothly move from closed to fully open, but jump straight from open to closed ( the fuel cut off sometimes jumps about a 1/4 of the way ) but if I keep moving the lever, it then jumps to the fully open position. As a consequence of this since the updated fuel cut off status I am now regularly blowing the engine if I try and use the Saitek levers and I have resorted to using the mouse which works fine. Hope you can help!

Well I have nothing to do with this mission and I haven't even played it. But I ended up reading this thread as I've suffered from stutters in the past. Just wanted to say I'm very impressed with BIGNEWY and his attempts to help. Your dedication and patience are greatly appreciated, if I get into a jam I know where to come!!!

Thanks very useful, but you forgot... - Check life insurance is up to date... -
Not wishing to be too picky early on as all told this is a fantastic release, but have you plans to improve the co-pilot? Its not just his "freaky eyes" but his head movement is very stilted and robotic looking. Would be great to have a bit more fluid movement and a more natural positioning of his hands on the controls.

Impressive. Yes I would agree about ordering now - I preordered at the end of Jan, just got an email saying delivery mid to end of July.
