  1. Thanks renhanxue! :) Yeah, LNS did a good job! The Viggen requires a different flying style than other jets in the sim. It's a new experience for everyone I guess? After all, the sim-market hasn't excactly been flooded by tailless deltawinged aircrafts. Makes you appreciate the advantages offered by relaxed stability and FBW. :)
  2. I love flying the LNS Viggen. While it is generally easy to fly, a great deal of care is also needed. IMO, much more so than any other (jet propelled) aircraft in the sim. Now, I'm aware that deltas are supposed to be draggy. I'm just curious as to whether the induced drag on the Viggen really made such an impact on performance to the degree we see in the sim. The RM8A is very powerful, and in a horizontal low AoA acceleration the power is noticable. However during take off, shortly after rotation at an IAS of 290 km/h, AoA around 12 the aircraft almost stops accelerating. Is it correct? Or is it excessive? Anyone care to educate me here? :) Video below. pMwSivqnzmg
  3. Thought I'd give this topic its own thread. My first flight in the Viggen almost ended in a belly landing. The canard and landing gear retraction are linked together but the timing is off. Currently the flaps retract in a just a few seconds. In real life the landing gear comes up first. When landing gear doors have closed shut the canard flaps still need another 8-10 seconds before they are fully up. Fixing this would make take off much smoother with no sinking. :) Video below of a Viggen taking off.
  4. I have successfully managed to take off and land a couple of times. I'm hell bent on keeping her in one piece. So, no crashing! The Viggen really is a different beast. The high induced drag really surprised me. The engine is powerful but I understand now why some Viggen pilots wished it had two. :)
  5. First, what a work of art! The love and dedication that has been put into this module cannot be underestimated! A thousand thanks! :notworthy: I'd just want to make a little note. When retracting the landing gear the canard flap retracts much too fast. In the real aircraft when the landing gear doors has a closed shut the canard still need another 8 to 10 seconds before they are fully up.
  6. In 1.5 the Mirage is aerodynamically unstable, whereas in the 2.0 it is not(any more). This is my understanding so far. :)
  7. Perhaps she feels a little lighter? Hard to say. Takeoffs and landings feels the same. :)
  8. Pre-purchased + t-shirt.
  9. Good job! It's like the AI is attached with a string. It has the acceleration and climb rate of a 21lb Mk. XIV but with a wing loading of a Mk. I.
  10. Sea level. 2000 meters. And me at 4000 and 5000 meters with AI @ 2000 meters. It really makes no difference.
  11. This is good to know. :) This does not seem to be the case against the Spitfire AI. :notify:
  12. I know the AI controlled Spitfire isn't a fair representation. But just for kicks I'd like everyone to try and beat the Spit AI with a D-9. I've probably done 20 engagements against it so far, and I've been shot down every time. It doesn't matter if I have a massive height and energy advantage. In less than a minute the AI Spitfire is glued on my six and closing. Seconds later I'm in pieces. Every time! :joystick: So far all I've seen are Spitfire vs Bf 109K-4 videos. How does the D-9 fare against the Spit online? Anyone? :)
  13. The Spitfire AI is insane! I haven't managed to kill it even once. The AI loves the vertical, especially at crazy low speeds. The Spitfire turns very well, and it should. But the D-9 is much faster and it should dive and zoom much better than the IX, but against the AI I can't build enough separation to turn the fight in my favor. It doesn't seem possible to zoom or dive away. The AI is always close on my tail, like glue. This is a K-4 thread, but I would really like to know how to beat the Spitfire in a one on one fight with the D-9. I'll be buying the Spitfire eventually though. :) It's not in my budget at the moment. :(
  14. I was bored and did some reckless flying over Las Vegas. I wasn't planning on saving the track but the engine failure and subsequent emergency landing made it stand out slightly from my usual excursions. :joystick: Hope you like it. :)
  15. Thanks guys! Glad you like it! :pilotfly:
  16. Very nice, razo+r!
  17. Awesome!
  18. Can I post videos in here? I'm trying to learn how to make videos. Here I'm doing a take off and landing in the D-9 and keeping as close as possible to the airport throughout the procedure. :) PTC-mOrUHm0
  19. Very nice!
  20. Thanks BravoFoxTrt! :)
  21. Going up against the P-51D AI. This time I was victorious. :)
  22. Thanks rrohde! Glad you like them. :)
