I took that 'no' as simply declining to give any more information than 'unavailable'. Not him narrowing down the reasons for why that's the case, as apparently that is not allowed.
-
Or for that matter, any Russian planes newer than the 21.
-
Which RWR was the MLA equiped with? It's not the one in the FC3 aircraft right, so the same as 21 or was there an in between variant?
-
Flares are more important I guess, were MLA's modified at some point with countermeasures?
-
In the original thread it was mentioned that they wanted to do an MLD if possible, but that some information was still missing. Don't know if that changed though.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9

Is the massive warping recently being looked at? It's making anything but heater shots nearly impossible atm. -
Not disagreeing with you, just going further on the point of people disliking it because it's not accurate.
-
Well it's also not 'accurate' that it's flying in a cold war gone hot scenario, engaging both advanced enemy fighters and striking ground targets defended by modern missile systems. Is it particularly unrealistic to imagine that in such a scenario, considering the possibility of doing so and the usefulness for the missions its doing, a modification like the D2M would have been installed?
-
So these things don't match up for me So it would be abused for air to air, but at the same time it's barely capable of defending against ground threats? So how exactly does it help in air to air when threats are even less likely to be within its FoV?
-
If it had the capability of mounting it and even the switch in the cockpit I don't see how its considered unrealistic. We can do ground strikes all the time ingame, how would it not be plausible that in this role it would be equiped with such a system? Not like we are recreating any historically authentic scenarios with the C atm. Anyway, props for the continued support for the 2000 and cool new functionalities, looking forward to using it.

Sounds good, still loving these early vids and screens though.

It's anybody's guess how the Hornet is going, but with Chizh's post in addition to the several new features that were apparently recently added there's probably still plenty of work ahead. When factoring in delays, and what state ED desires it to be in for beta, the release date could vary quite wildly. Same thing for the Av8 we don't know how far it is, or at what stage RB considers it ready for beta. the 2k is closing in on about a year now since first release? It's still technically not 'done' but we've had it for this long already. That already indicates how far the moment of 'it's done' can be from the moment we get our hands on it. Anyway, it's all conjecture but I simply don't think either one is 'close'. The small amount of facts we have currently just does not supports making a serious call on which one would be first, and it could be either one imo.
-
The Hornet isn't releasing this year, probably deep into next year. We don't know how the Harrier is going but it certainly sounds possible that it beats it.
-
Should have zuni's as well as the hydra's.
-
It feels pretty unpleasant to fly a heavier 21 atm, very wobbly though I'm not sure if this is realistic.
-
What is the deal with Sidearm? Did Harriers ever fire them or is it more of an ARMAT situation?

Also agreeing with this. Extra lives for these planes would be great. -
Well it certainly is not easy to spot the dot, it is very small and depending on contrast it can be very unlikely that you see it. Usually you need to have a pretty decent idea of where an enemy is when he is some distance away in order to spot the dot. In that regard it seems to be relatively accurate, though it does cause some eyestrain to keep eyes on a contact in order to keep tracking it.
-
In some situations I experienced the dot actually getting vaguer/dissapearing when zooming in. Zoomed out seemed to make it easier to see the dot at times.
-
There's a new system for spotting. Either the model enlargement is not 'supposed' to work with it and its just the old menu thats not yet removed, or the model enlargement is not yet implemented for the new system and will be activated later. I don't think there was anything whatsoever about this in the patch notes so its anybodies guess when/how this will be addressed.
-
Ya I just got around to testing the new stable version, it seems a LOT better. Dots are visible, if somewhat small, regardless of zoom level which is the most massive thing imo. The contact becomes more easily visible if you zoom, but zooming out would never make them dissapear. Angle does not seem to matter as much anymore, but contrast did I got the feeling. When fighting against Hawks (pitch black skin), I was consistently having a much much easier time spotting them even at quite a distance, compared to the gray A10 paintscheme.
-
So there's visibility changes in 1.5.5? I don't have anything installed but stable, anybody have the lowdown on what they changed exactly? Was anything in depth changed like dependence on resolution or zoom for instance?
-
Ooh that makes sense, I just assumed it had an onboard camera fitted as part of its ability to use weapons like 29T.
-
You guys know if the laser system was retained when it was fitted with the camera designator? The aperture in the nosecone looks so small compared to the massive camera in the 27K nose for instance.
-
Wait, this is still a thing? This was already happening almost a month ago to me, is it actually still crashing? I haven't flow the 21 since then but I thought it was fixed pretty soon after that.
