  1. It was working fine 2 months ago. Sucks when DCS gives incentives to buy 'old' modules and campaigns but fails to support them. Double sucks when they also ignore support tickets about that.
  2. So, no attention from devs?
  3. Too hot in the Mi-8 on sunny days, did you turn on the fans?
  4. Was too put off by weird menu parallax for a while, but the latest updates seem to fix it. By trying a few values stopped at 56 - the cockpits and pilots' limbs look up to scale now.
  5. I had a stable DCS 2.5 running flawlessly in VR until two weeks ago. Now I occasionally have BSOD when choosing Exit to desktop, either from main menu or from ESC menu in missions. Unfortunately, both DCS and Oculus were updated before this started, so can't tell whose fault it is. Other than that, DCS runs fine. Anyone is having the same problem? Edit: Reinstalled NVidia drivers with DDU, start DCS - my logbook is reset to new, all progress in campaigns is lost!!! Really upset now (((( I had a backup from a month ago, but still....
  6. Any mission in free Spring Tension campaign
  7. After recent updates, unable to complete any missions requiring troops load/unload! For example, Spring Tension - Docker and Oilfiled - Geologists. The F7 menu is always empty ((((
  8. I've been trying to pass this mission (Docker) for the last 6 months. Pump always failed, troops did not disembark at Shpora. Then my Beta died and I installed a fresh Stable version (2.5.3.22176 in Russian). Now I can't embark troops at Shpora! Tried 5 times already - there is no such menu option....
  9. I think configurable IPD on VR screen was meant to address it. However, any setting but Auto creates a parallax effect for the menus and thus unusable??
  10. Hang on, deleting all the caches and trying again... Edit: Yep, it works! Life's good again!! )))
  11. It did install on stable, but all shadows look too dark (even when terrain shadows are off)
  12. Any chance this mod will be fixed to work with current builds?
  13. +1 neither beta nor stable are compatible anymore (((((
  14. Thanks for the reply, but how? And how to find out what build I had?
  15. I had a few months old 2.5 Open Beta that worked fine and which I carefully avoided to update. Today something was not right and I decided to do a repair. Well, that did the update and made my game completely unplayable: 1) Now it insists using My Games/DCS rather than DCS.openbeta folder. Fine, I copied over my stuff 2) Next, all my modules are gone on main screen and in the missions, BUT they still look as installed in the module manager! 3) The great VR Shaders mode no longer seems compatible. Any way to avoid the pain of full reinstall?
  16. I find the best way to learn a new module is to do a related campaign. Just pause the missions to assign new buttons and read the respective parts of the manual if you can't progress.
  17. Hi, depends on your screen resolution and whether you use VR. For 1080p your setup is enough. CPU temp depends on cooling, and default coolers are always insufficient and loud. Maybe put an external fan next to your PC. My specs are in signature, I use AIO watercooling for both CPU and GPU, fly exclusively in VR mostly at 45 fps with almost all eye candy on (and VR shaders mod). My CPU is old, but I won't upgrade until I see performance gain of at least 50%. Another bottleneck in VR are USB ports - so choose your next mobo carefully!
  18. The F10 menu was fixed but I still cannot complete the Docker mission. I pick up the Condor troops, land at Shpora - and nothing. There is no option to unload them. I fly back to the Base - still nothing, the mission does not end. Did someone try it recently?
  19. It was fixed with one of the updates - thanks! Finished this mission today at first attempt, only now as my Rift was broken for a while...
  20. no, but I keep an eye on what is running in the background and stick with Windows 7
  21. I run a .cmd with these lines on boot and after exiting VR: NIRCMDC closeprocess OculusClient.exe net stop OVRService NIRCMDC closeprocess OVRServiceLauncher.exe NIRCMDC closeprocess OVRServer_x64.exe using free soft from here http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html OTT does not kill the spyware OVRServer_x64.exe, it only stops OVRService
  22. Sure, I shutdown all Oculus services immediately after boot, but must restart them to fly DCS. And I surely will choose another manufacturer for upgrade.
  23. Hi. I've been researching stutters on my PC when my Internet connection is slow or disabled, and I discovered the culprit being OVRServer_x64.exe process. It runs all the time snooping on us and posting data to Facebook servers. Just run a Process Monitor to see for yourself. In the attached screen Oculus goes through my Steam games folder to learn what to market me in their Home. When there is no Internet connection OVRServer_x64.exe starts writing incessant errors into a .txt log file, slowing down my PC (screen 2). I looked at this log file and further learned that despite I disabled posting my status and any info online Facebook still collects such data: 22/08 16:20:10.300 {DEBUG} [FBNS Manager] Notification received: {"unread_count":0,"target_uid":2085425651782255,"time":1534947581,"type":"oculus_user_status","message":"","params":{"extra_data":"{"user_with_updated_status":"2085425651782255","presence":"Online","app_id":null,"friend_display_name":"First name Surname"}","PushNotifID":"fb8feb98-e428-fc08-5031-52a1a03506bc","persisted_id":""},"is_logged_out_push":false} "First name Surname" is what I entered in my "First name" and "Surname" fields on setup. I closed my Facebook account a while ago due to privacy violations, but they are still doing it to me via this supposedly hardware product! I've been in touch with support for weeks, but they pretend to not understand what I am talking about and just pass me to the next guy. They say OVRServer_x64.exe is "integral part to give me a VR picture in the headset bla bla bla", but I am not an idiot. Maybe if we all write our complaints about this process they will make it not interfere with live games. Let it run in the background when Oculus Home is NOT running (so we can kill it after bootup), but go to sleep mode otherwise. Sorry for long read, had to vent my anger ))
  24. Brilliant mod! My only problem is double vision on the periphery of the left eye! Did it not install correctly?
  25. I actually found a spare HDD and installed clean Windows 7 with all the same drivers etc, and the problem is gone! So it is NOT a hardware problem, just my old Windows got clogged somewhere.
