  1. UPDATE. Today, after 2 weeks of DCS withdrawal, Oculus shipped me a replacement HMD + cable under warranty. But this DID NOT solve my problem! I am still getting freezes while loading Oculus Home and/or black screen, then 'HDMI not connected' error. Moreover, after clean reinstall of Oculus I am now getting crashes a few seconds after PC reboot and Oculus launch. I noticed in the Event Viewer that OculusVR.exe crashed the same second as OVRServiceLauncher process was saying that OVRRedir.exe 'died with 4'. I had another ticket before trying to resolve this bug (it was spamming my Windows logs) but after numerous tests and reinstalls I was told by Oculus support that 'it was normal'!! Now this bug does not seem so innocent - I hope they can investigate better. Another of my theories is that one of the Oculus automatic updates broke compatibility with my Windows 7 and/or .net 4.6.2. All my non-VR games and programs work fine so I am not willing to try complete Windows reinstall or upgrade to 10 in order to fix their bugs. BOTTOMLINE: Oculus developers and support stuff are complete and utter rubbish!
  2. Yes, I read the manual and yes, I did plan to first place it on the ground )) Anyway, can't do anything right now until Oculus repairs my Rift...
  3. Thanks! I better wait. This is my first time sling-loading and I would like to complete it properly. I'm sure there is more to come in next missions. I did not try tactical nor emergency release - will they also crash the cargo?
  4. Yep, tried unplugging/replugging and moving USB from Innotech back to motherboard. Oculus software just got updated itself, no change. I get video/sound in HMD for a few seconds after launching Oculus, but the picture is static (does not move when I turn my head). Then I get a warning about 'poor tracking', and then screen goes dark and I get an error 'HDMI not connected'. OculusVR process may freeze or crash at this point. It seems it lacks some type of feedback from Rift. Is this consistent with bad cable? Ironically, my 2-year EU warranty just ran out last week )))
  5. I have the same setup, minus Harrier, and no, this is not normal. But I had somewhat similar issue when buttkicker was humming, woke up and refused to sleep. The problem was lack of grounding on the extension cord it was plugged in! )))
  6. Well, after what, 2 years?, my Rift gave in today. No HDMI connection, period. I tried all the tricks, including NVidia drivers downgrade. I had no recent software changes, but I did get intermittent HDMI connection errors in the last few days (cured with restart or reboot). Does it sound like a bona-fide tired cable? Contacting Rift support, will see what they say.
  7. Hotas Warthog is the best imho
  8. Ok, I think I tracked the problem to SimShaker for Aviators locking up and freezing the USB irqs or something. Reported it to its devs...
  9. Hi devs! Having these problems today. First, DCS crashed immediately after launch (.log.old), then some 15 minutes into the mission (.log). Logs show that it starts creating input devices again and again. What does it mean? Bad USB connection/power? Why all devices at once? TARGET was running ok, no errors. Thrustmaster Combined is a logical device and should not depend on USB?! My joysticks are plugged into mobo's usb 3.0, no hubs. VR stuff is in a separate powered card. This config worked reliably for months/years before today. 2.5 OB w/last update, recently cleaned and repaired, no mods. Can it be caused by the fact that I was running VR without a primary monitor turned on? dcs.log.rar
  10. Hello, I'm struggling with generator mission of Oilfield campaign. I hover over the landing site, choose "auto onhook on", slowly lower the cargo, hear "Cargo is on the ground, disconnecting" then immediately "Oh no, cargo crashed". The mission ends in failure. On external view cargo looks fine but still hooked. Tried three times, always the same (( 2.5 OB...

  12. Got this update in ticket, so hopefully the fix is coming: Quote Hello, the crash because of using radio menu don't try to use descent command in radio menu descent feature still WIP and shouldn't be used. Descent will be added automatically by trigger logic in mission, just wait for it. thanks -- Best regards, Andrey Filin Eagle Dynamics IT Team
  13. ok, tried again, this time I was told to go to the village as well, all good
  14. Why nobody complains about the instrument panel becoming too dull/dim in the shadows? I find it unbearable in VR, compared to all other planes, and I too used to love Mig21...
  15. in 2.5 no rockets or houses, just trucks and guns. I hit them all, was told to RTB, then to park. I parked next to UAZ, as before - nothing! 90% complete, the mission does not end ((
  16. good stuff, thanks!
  17. my terrain shadows are set to 'default', not 'flat'. if I set them to 'none' but still wish to enjoy cockpit shadows, I observe another artifact: changing partial shadows of own aircraft on the ground!
  18. Hi, why am I losing control/roll down the left wing when approaching 1000 TAS? Isn't it supposed to be that the engine should flame out or something? I thought controllability depends on IAS, not TAS...
  19. I think they are disabled to prevent nausea and immersion spoiling. Also, I don't have this module but I read elsewhere it is not supported in VR. Just lean forward?
  20. Ok, I noticed this too many times to be a random coincidence. My cursor gets trapped when I don't want it to and audio is not being output to internal device despite the correct settings. I have to go to VR screen to check/uncheck again and wait for the game to restart. Then everything works as it should... until the next PC reboot. NVMe drive. I realize game updates often screw up the config file, but this is not it. I experience this annoying bug literally every day. Settings on other panels look stable, only these two on VR screen are weird..
  21. +1 jumping up/down problem, but also BACK/FORWARD and LEFT/RIGHT shifting and view ANGLE drifting in the cockpit during dogfights. must constantly reset the view, super annoying! I think it got worse moving from 1.5 to 2.5. Feels like the coordinate updates coming from Rift are relative but not absolute, and DCS is trying to reconstruct my head's position from them. My physical head is always in the same place more or less, so how hard it can be? I have one sensor with a dedicated FrescoLogic PCI card for rift + sensor.
  22. My DCS and/or Oculus Home randomly decide whether to play sound or not. Sometimes, after fresh PC boot, I will have sound in the Rift headset as expected. Sometimes I must relaunch DCS to fix the problem. Same was happening in 1.5. No settings choice/clean/repair/update/upgrade could fix it. I have 'Output to built-in device' checked on VR tab and 'output to headphones' chosen in Oculus. Drives me mad having to take off the HMD and relaunch the game every other time! Edit: further investigations revealed that the Rift sound is muted if I put the HMD on after DCS launches. If I manually launch Oculus Home and put the HMD before launching DCS, the sound in headset appears as normal.
  23. I know, but the first few seconds my controls are always disabled!
  24. 16Gb RAM is not enough for MP in 2.5. Have a look how it fills to 100% when MP loads.
  25. In the quick mission (starts in mid-air) there is no control of the collective for the first 5 seconds?!
