  1. 1.5.1 open beta Exhaust smoke I like the idea! Maybe at low airspeed and high revs it is realistic to see such a thick smoke behind BF 109 (MW 50??). BUT at high speed on idle it should not be visible. And when landed, if visible, it should go up or stay near the plane, not go back (no wind)! It just stays in the air as a fixed object, even after the engine is off... And it is definitely a disadvantage in a dogfight when P-51 does not smoke!!
  2. Don't know if reported, I see a weird bug on my TGP in the WHOT mode. The border between light/shade in the cockpit is now rendered as a thick black line. On my stills it may appear as a distant river or a cloud shadow over water, but it was moving independent of the terrain... Also, the trees and buildings are now really flickering in FLIR!
  3. No! If anything, updating to 1.5.1 reduced my baseline FPS from 110 to 85, and FLIR+Mav from 50 to 40. Ran the test twice... I use quick-easy-fall mission on active pause from the first second. Why, DCS, why? Edit: loss of baseline FPS was due to No Tree Shadows mod being removed by the update. Now restored, but the "FLIR problem" is still very much there ((
  4. Mig-21 reactivations After the latest open beta update, Mig-21 said my system changed significantly and asked to reactivate. I am now down to 7, although never changed anything since I bought Mig-21. Not even Windows updates... With this speed I will soon have to buy it again.
  5. Dear SiThSpAwN, Was your TGP in FLIR mode? I attached a track file turning FLIR/IR MAV on and off for a few seconds. I placed Task Manager on top of the game to watch the CPU usage. Hopefully, you'll see what I see: when IR modes are on the CPU usage goes noticeably down! This must indicate some bottleneck causing our FPS drop. flir test.trk
  6. Which birds did you try it with? It does not work with Huey or Mig-15/21 for me...
  7. I just noticed a curious fact, maybe it will give a clue to the devs at what's going on. When the MAV and TGP pages are up on the MFDs, the CPU utilization goes DOWN! And so does the FPS... I select some text pages, and the usage, and FPS go back up. Why?? The game is in active pause, nothing else changes. Please try on your PC.

  9. - A few valuable info like 1024 resolution for MFDs, only in FLIR mode etc. is in the posts, so does everybody have similar experience (FLIR only)? Only WHOT or BHOT modes and IR MAV give problem. Drop from 90 to 40 in Quick-Easy Fall on active pause. TGP by itself (TV mode) only steals 5 FPS. Increasing Clutter from 0 to MAX reduces baseline FPS to 75 AND further to 65 with TGP (TV mode) Changing Visibility Range from Ultra to Low made no difference - Any difference when changing resolution for MFDs? 512 cockpit or 1024 every makes no difference - How much video RAM? 2gig - Preload radius in combination with less than 2GB Video RAM? 150,000 or 100 makes no difference - Any similar virus scan or "Security suite" in use? Microsoft Security Essentials - Anything else that is special or unusual about your PC setup or that you think may be related? No - DOF Off To be fair, I see similar effect in the version 1.2! But my baseline FPS is lower at 60, and it drops to 40 with FLIR+MAV... UPDATE: I also tried all settings at Low/No, FPS still drops from 135 to 62! flir test.trk
  10. I have Allied Flight Reports disabled in settings, but they still arrive on ACG server! Moreover, the same message plays over and over every two seconds. Like: "Enfield 1 RTB at 3000... Enfield 1 RTB at 3000.... Enfiend 1 RTB at 3000.... Enfield 1 RTB at 3000...". Mega annoying! Also, my Subtitles are unchecked, but I still see them...
  11. I noticed the game now takes too long to render new scenes! I use snap views a lot, to zoom in, up, left, right glances. in 1.2 all is fine. in 1.5, while my average FPS is higher, I often get 1-2 seconds(!) freezes when look around. All settings high, except Civil Traffic, Clutter and Depth of Field to off... More so near ground, like in Huey missions (((

  13. The fence in 1.5 is there (pic. 1), but almost invisible. In 1.2 I can see in clearly (pic. 2). What bugs me more in both versions, is the transparent landing pad at some angles! I see the supporting construction through it (((

  15. Another oddity - not all planes work with this mod! I so far tried BF, Su-25 and Huey - they do, but Mig 21 and MIG 15 don't! So this feature is indeed broken (( And while it does work for Huey, the resulting 3d picture is too wide - wrong aspect ratio!
  16. Anything but white is hard to make out on my Full HD. I think the text in MP is erroneously processed by AA/AF filters. Also, blue/red on gray/blue/green is low contrast. On a separate note, I'd really like that white envelope removed or at least not stay on one place. Plasma screen... Thank you!
  17. I see shimmering fences and even hugely shimmering bridges on A10's FLIR... Even if I zoom in to look at it. Also, it must be a bug that the trees "grow" on the MFD as I fly towards them. Therefore Trees Visibility must be set at maximum to avoid this nonsense, and it taxes the FPS...
  18. Just noticed. The solution you provided works, however not quite free of errors. I am seeing two suns in the Bf 109 quick dogfight mission! To make sure it is not a reflection, I ejected and looked form the ground as well. It is definitely a separate disk, not visible in 2d mode.
  19. Thanks, smoochi! It works, although I don't understand this 0.85 multiplier. In 1.2 I got somewhat better results using TAB, rather than SBS (more horizontal pixels make text in cockpit more readable). I am having a hard time modifying it for 1.5.   20. Does depth of field kills outside view FPS for everyone? Mine drops to 20s, for both SIMPLE and BOKEN (what's the difference?)...
  21. Wanted to see the beautiful EDGE shadows and glares on mustang canopy in 3d, but no luck. The game runs, but the output is corrupted (see screen) both in vertical and horizontal modes (default and custom .lua). I saw a thread about 3dVision, but not this issue...
  22. Why not to have a rule/script that Lone Wolves can only join the side which currently has fewer players? So they would balance the odds and help win by skill, not numbers...

  24. Hello, was flying on the "51" server today. After about an hour the valleys between hills became hidden behind some sort of dark green screen, borders were shaking. Even IR mode on A10 could not see through. A few minutes later, DCS stopped responding. Any ideas?
  25. I am having this issue now with A-10C training missions. Gun mapped to SPC, it fires, but missions do not progress. (((
