  1. Dunno if it has been asked before, but I know we have the captive carry AIM-9s currently in DCS... Can we in the future get captive carry AIM-120s? They basically would just be a reskinned missile, maybe with a slightly different 3D model to remove the rocket motor at the back and in regards to cockpit systems functionality? I'm not sure, I guess it would be like cuing the AIM-120 up like normal except it would never leave your rail as it has no rocket motor nor warhead. I don't know if IRL in sim mode on the master arm switch it would just simply simulate symbiology or if it could only be used at an instrumented range like NTTR for example. But at least could we get the cosmetic 3D model and textures into DCS so we can load them onto our training aircraft for NTTR type flights as red or blue air?
  2. yeah, well I shouldn't even have to move my default head position... Why is the pilot not situated in the correct position in the first place (if that is the case) Not to mention that in VR I don't even think you can because it is defined by ED. Not to mention that Panther worked on F-16s, sat inside them regularly and even she says that the position is incorrect...
  3. It would be cool for those of us virtual pilots doing lots of flying using aggressor skins if we could have the so called "Gecko" pod on our DCS F-16s as maybe simply a cosmetic 3D object, similar to how the travel pods are basically... Since I'm sure adding any functionality to them representative to IRL would be not possible. At least could we have it as a 3d object to put under our centerline for when we fly out of Nellis on those Red Flag NTTR missions? Seen here on the centerline station: EDIT: Seems like it can also be mounted onto the wing station for when carrying a centerline fuel tank too

  4. I would love 64th AGRS "Lizard" skin to be added as a default DCS F-16 skin... Out of all the aggressor skins, its my favorite because the green color clashes with the others and really makes it stand out and be unique. I think it was intended to represent MiG-23. But to be honest, I'd love all the skins for the 64th AGRS... The newer painted jets like "Shark" that are already added are cool too, but so are the older workhorses that were colored to represent MiG-23s, MiG-29s, Su-27s, etc...
  5. I run into this problem too in VR when trying to ascertain RWR threats in front of me... I'm thinking too a pilot seating position problem or that position of the floodlamp because for the life of me I can't imagine real aircraft designers either accidentally or otherwise obscuring the entire front azimuth portion of the RWR from the pilot in their natural reclined seating position. Or for that matter, requiring the pilot to shift their body or their head in order to view the entirety of the RWR. But, yes experiencing this in VR too and it is a major annoyance...
  6. i’m really curious if this works in VR so far all you guys have only been talking about 2D
  7. For right now, I removed overclock and went to stock settings... Also, superposition free version only runs 1 loop which is what I did but I ran heaven for over 30+ minutes to 1 hour i'm getting mission exit / game exit crash only for now it seems
  8. not only can I spot planes in VR, I can also spot incoming SAMs at me
  9. I am having crash sometimes very often on mission quitting but now I experienced for the first time also crash on trying to quit from DCS main menu after successfully quitting a mission. dcs.log-20210530-083604.zip dcs.log
  10. think I solved by reducing my core clock, but right now have core clock at +100 Mhz and memory clock at +1,000 Mhz... Runs heaven, valley, and superposition all without crashing or artifacts and GPU temp rarely goes above 60 on my Asus Strix 1080 GTX OC card. Right now, I am only experiencing crashes in DCS when quitting game or exiting a mission so far since reducing core clock...
  11. here is my log from the last crash I had when pressing end mission, game crashed immediately with that blue window to send error report to ED. I was running DCS in VR dcs.log dcs.log-20210529-101340.zip EDIT: had another crash just now on mission quitting / exit... Seems like right now after tuning down my GPU overclock this is the only crash as of yet I am having in VR. dcs.log-20210529-104112.zip dcs.log
  12. I still get crashes without full screen mode
  13. I think I am experiencing this bug when I run DCS in VR, and especially once overclocking my GPU and trying to run DCS... I'm constantly getting same dx11backend error in the logs too. DX11BACKEND: DX device removed. Reason: 0x887A0006
  14. yeah, I think in my particular case... I am experiencing several different types of crashes but they have a tendency to masquerade themselves as other types of crashes... But I sure have been on random occasions getting that quitting mission causes crash issue... I can't trigger it all the time, just from what I noticed it is really happening when extended play time in a mission as opposed to loading and waiting a min or 2 and then quitting a mission.
  15. It also only seems to happen in VR for me, not 2D... Although to be honest, I haven't tested too much in 2D but when I did, I didn't notice any problems.
  16. seems like mine happens when the mission is running for a while and I want to quit the mission to go to main menu to select another... It crashes before entering the debriefing screen.
  17. Even with full screen option unchecked I am getting mission exit crash, in fact my whole time testing I have never had DCS in full screen.
  18. so, I am still experiencing more crashes after testing, but not 2nd mission load crash but rather on exit of missions... Also I am getting other crashes related to dx11backend and my GPU overclocking (I have been testing with and without GPU overclocking)
  19. Similar issue as with before using overclocking on GPU, this time with Steam VR motion smoothing enabled... Crash in DCS is almost immediate than if motion smoothing was disabled in Steam VR for DCS... Video and Log below. But oddly enough the crashes are somewhat randomly occurring, even with motion smoothing disabled and GPU overclocking removed. I really can't put my finger on what may be causing it on my particular end. I have tried with and without overclocking and with and without motion smoothing enabled in Steam VR. The crashes are happening on mission quit/exit too, maybe it is more than 1 issue going on and blended problems? dcs.log dcs.log
  20. In VR mode, I am getting sometimes a hard crash and sometimes a crash with display message saying "DCS has crashed, send error report to ED, etc..." This is happening frequently only with overclocked GPU in DCS in VR mode (every run of game results in crash after some time period in a mission) but strangely enough this is not happening at all even with overclocking when running DCS in 2D mode. Log attached of the last crash I had that I am positive I can attribute to this. dcs.log I'd really like to be able to get my GPU overclock working with VR in DCS because on my old GPU (Asus ROG Strix 1080 GTX OC) I am seeing increase in frame rates to where I can have more enjoyable experience in VR if the crashing could be solved... Also, more importantly than FPS, GPU frametimes seems to be more around 17ms-20ms with the overclocking, which is far more ideal than what I am getting which is above 20ms to 30ms without the overclocking (other than these frequent DCS crashes, but again in 2D there is no crashing with overclocking) So, the overclocking actually makes the game comfortably playable in terms of GPU frame times and frame rates(with the exception of the crashes) until I can get my hands on a unicorn GPU with the ridiculous market we have today... Which what I want is some kind of Strix RTX 3080 or TI.
  21. I did experience a crash in VR in quitting mission, but it was a mission that was running for a long time and since then I have not had that crash so far today... So, for me it has only happened 1 time thus far. EDIT: had this crashing when quitting mission occur to me many more times, all the time I was in VR mode.
  22. I'm unable to command my AI wingmen in the fighter sweep instant action mission, I also noticed that the plane airstarts with the master radio panel set to the OFF position in all missions but somehow with that panel turned off I am still able to hear AI flight reports from Colt 2 flight which seems highly unrealistic if the radio is OFF. Also I am only able to communicate with AWACS on UHF preset channel 18... But it took me searching through practically all the preset UHF channels to find that. Unfortunately, I was never able to find out what UHF or VHF preset channel my own AI flight was on so I could try to command them. Conversely, however in the Fighter Intercept and Night Fighter Intercept instant action missions I am able to command my flight and communicate with AWACS. Also, I don't understand why but the AI wingmen in the mission where I was able to get him to engage bandits called Fighter intercept... I wanted him to engage another bandit and he just kept telling me "unable" I looked over at him in external view and I saw he wasn't completely winchester and out of missiles... He still had a 120 and AIM 9 remaining, in the Israeli Air Force when I listened to pilot interviews back during the wars they had in the 60s and 80s... The pilots wouldn't RTB unless low on fuel or out of gun ammo and missiles, they seemed quite determined on that. Anyways, what was the deal with 2? Did he go all Cougar on us and just loose the edge?? Was he trying run home and turn in his wings? Did that Mig really spook him?? He still had a AIM 9 and 120 left, I really could have used him!
  23. I just now had a crash on quitting the mission to go back to the main menu, I was in VR and I had the game running for a long time... Log below dcs.log Also, when doing further testing I had more crashes when quitting missions... See video:
  24. For sure when I overclock the GPU I am getting a crash in VR but not in 2D: DX11BACKEND: DX device removed. Reason: 0x887A0006 dcs.log
  25. this is what is happening now for me in 2D, I used to have 2nd mission load crash happening.
