Not MiG-29As though, their Radar is absolute garbage for Independent search and destroy compared to even contemporary sets like AWG-9 let alone the modern America stuff, and so is RWR gear. You pretty much need offboard sensors to be effective and know whats going on at any realistic BVR ranges.

This is exactly what I was having issues with, thank you!

Whatever it is, I say add it.

A female AI would be too OP.

So when they trim, they're holding the button during the whole evolution until it's in the position they want. They are NOT moving the stick to the desired position and then press/tapping it. It looks like its being held from the beginning of cyclic movement until the movement is finished, and the they're using the hat for fine tuning. That makes sense if the trim is indeed pausing the autopilot, but I don't know how they interact.

I would think if the weapon system can handle R60s it should be able to handle Iglas too But i don't know what I'm talking about.

I'm all for replacing the piece of paper with it.

My question is, what technique is used for trim in the real bird. Because, I'm seeing lots of hot takes here on the forums. Some people are saying you need to HOLD the trim button down until your stabilized like in the KA-50, others are saying you use many frequent TAPs of the trim button. One person said you need to do both. lol My problem is that every so often when I try to trim, the autopilot seems to spaz out momentarily and I occasionally end up with oscillations usually in pitch. They tend to work themselves out after a few seconds but the issue is when I'm trying to aim on an attack run and I want to quickly establish an attitude, I encounter this issue it makes aiming infuriating. The settings I have are center position trim, and rudder trim selected in special options and I'm using a TMW grip and base. For context I've been researching the Mi-8s autopilot system and I don't know if its an issue where I'm running into the servo stops and I need to adjust the rotary knobs, like in that aircraft or if its even similar in the Mi-24 or if I just don't understand how trim and autopilot interact, or how your supposed to work them together? Am I being to aggressive when I roll in? Is this normal behavior? Any ideas? haha

HARMs and a few other weapons got updated during the hornet dev cycle. So Hopefully they can get around to the Hinds assets some time in the near future. The file for the new tank is a good sign.

Can the GUV pods get a refresh from the art department at some point? The assets are quite dated, and they stick out like sore thumb next to glorious new HIND model.

Don't necessarily need to kill the whole flight of MiGs just whittle it down so that when and if the merge happens, the MiGs are outnumbered, and or already defensive. Then the higher performance up close, is not as relevant. Spammers can give you just that little bit of an edge going in to the merge and usually that's all it takes with all aspect SRMs and above. I'm very interested to see how the FF MiG stacks up to the actual 1980s era jet we have in DCS. Personally in the A cat I have a really hard time with the FC3 29A as it is. Phoenix is not Amraam and anyone that has spent any amount of time dodging the latter knows how to pretty much turn that missile off, and realistically with fox1 and 2s I think the MiG has pretty a firm advantage over the tomcat.

If you want lots of fancy A2G stuff and prefer a very modern UI get the Jeff. If you want performance the viper is the way too go. Its pretty much better in every aspect WIP status aside. Just not quite as Gucci, Limited A2G stuff, not intuitive avionics, gameboy sized MFDs ect. However its still better at everything, hands down.

correct as-is Can't turn auto rudder off
Wizard_03 replied to cuervo111's topic in Bugs and Problems
Can confirm this is the case for me too, must be intentional for the training missions. -
The sad part is you don't need the paddle switch to win. Like ever. If your needing to use it too win; your either not fighting the hornet too its strengths, or you messed up and are in bacon saving mode. Either scenario makes you bad at BFM.

Oh Yeah I'm sure everyone would prefer to have the FM wildly change every patch, mixed in with occasional exploding engines and magical radar implementation for the F-16 too. Let's not even talk about both of those third party's missile APIs. In all seriousness, patience was and is being rewarded for the hornet no doubt the viper will get there too, I have faith.

FLOLS overlay shows even if option unticked in settings

Confirmed. It comes back every time I restart the game. -

Having the same issue, TO assistance off, auto rudder off, game settings off, bindings checked. -
The problem is it's not simple. What we had before was unrealistic for any hornet as 120s physically can't be mounted to LAU-7 pylons we have in game. Which is why USN made a launcher adapter for it. And they swiss got their own. Just because a sparrow will fit doesn't mean the 120 automatically works too with the exact same hardware. The swiss use a different pylon completely, so what you should be asking for is ED to add the swiss pylon/launcher. But for that they would probably need detailed images/specifications, and possibly acceptable stores loading documentation.

no not on a hornet does hornet have Hot Spot Detector in HUD?
Wizard_03 replied to flankerjun's topic in Wish List
The threads OP is asking about NAVFLIR specifically not the LPOD in general. I'm not sure when it had or didn't have it IRL, but apparently we're getting it with ATFLIR implementation. Seeing as how they changed the title. -

Wizard_03 replied to flankerjun's topic in Wish List
See thread title, I think the re-work was first mentioned back when the came out with LITENING for the hornet in a YT comment or something but I can't find it quickly. EDIT: here we go: January 10th entry scroll down to hornet systems: Air-to-Ground Radar and Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) Critical to complete the F/A-18C and F-16C, will be the inclusion of completed air-to-ground (AG) radar and Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) sensor systems. Last year, the JF-17 Thunder used our AG radar application programming interface (API) to great success. We will continue to improve the AG radar API and use it for both the Hornet and Viper. We will continue to enhance this area of expertise and work to improve radar shadowing, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) support, and varied resolution based on the type and era of radar. The updated FLIR API will be used to improve the targeting pod’s infrared (black hot/white hot) cameras. This is a rather large undertaking because it not only involves programming tasks to account for thermal dynamics of world and unit objects but also creating thermal maps for all objects in DCS World and how they behave under different conditions. -
What would be your preferred F-4 variant?

I know the Rigs are also not comfortable at all, especially for fast jets.
