  1. Are there any JTAC spots and if so can they deploy illume?
  2. HiJack, thanks for the warning. I was about to upgrade to Windows 10 as I have heard of people getting a 10% FPS increase in DCS but I am using a Samsung evo ssd. I will check the drivers before upgrading. Jacks
  3. Was this issue every resolved. I'm have similar problem that when MAP is above about 40", I cannot hear any engine noise at all and the remainder if the flight is silent. Sometimes I hear the engine if Imadvance the throttle to full power. I have had this problem since installing DCS and a fresh install did not resolve the problem. It would be nice to hear the engine during dogfights rather than having to constantly check the instruments. Jacks
  4. What if your target is moving at speed right to left or vice versa across your sight (deflection shot), surely you still need to place the pipper ahead of the target, giving it lead, in order to score a hit. Are there any rules of thumb as to how far ahead you need to aim?
  5. I would like to change my profile name from 4535jacks to Jacks. How do I go about getting this changed? Jacks
  6. Chuck, sign me up for a UH-1 spot please. I don't mind in what role, slick, MEDEVAC or gunship. If you have too many Uh-1H pilots and not enough Mi-8 pilots then feel free to sign up for some hip flying. Jacks
  7. It would be great to see a Sea Stallion from Belsimtek as they are the masters of DCS helicopters.
  8. Thanks chuck, will check it out. Does DCS model any IR lighting or IR/glint tape on aircraft?
  9. Can anyone recommend a good NVG mid for the Huey?
  10. Thanks for the replies, I have looked at the 229th but it seems to me that they are more U.S based and so there events would likely take place at unsociable hours in the UK. My preference would be a squadron without a focus on a particularly airframe as I like to fly several and with some interesting aircraft on the horizon in would be nice to fly a good variety within the construct of an organisation. I wiill look into 229th and TAW some more. Jacks
  11. I too recently bought the Mi-8 and it is by far my favourite module. Landing is a challenge compared to the Huey and I find myself doing more vertical takeoffs and landings than with the UH-1H. I am slowly working through the campaign which is excellent but at some point will need to figure out how to use the autopilot. Loving the Doppler system though. if anyone wants to fly in a group of Mi-8s online then drop me a PM.
  12. Tackle, as far as I can remember, Razbam Sims are nearing completion of an A-7 but we won't see a release until after the mirage and DCS 2. The A17'will be an excellent addition to future carrier ops. Jacks
  13. Are there any European based rotary wing squadrons flying the Huey or Mi-8? Jacks
  14. This looks challenging! Count me in! Preferably in a Huey but i am competent in the Mi-8 and so can fly one if you are short of Hip pilots. I am happy to fly either slicks or gunships, again experienced with both. Thanks again for organising this chuck. Jacks
  15. The screenshots look normal to me.
  16. Thanks for the answers, I will keep an eye out in the future. Jacks
  17. On a couple of occasions I have had to apply full collective at low speed such as at high altitude and I have noticed a few of my instuments turning off and both generator warning lights come on. I can only assume that the low rotor rpm has led to low engine rpm and that under a certain rom, the generators no longer produce enough voltage. Is this the case? Jacks
  18. When using the gyro sight in the p-51 with the correct wingspan and range, I am right in thinking that I still need to give the target some 'lead' when going for a deflection shot. Jacks
  19. As much as I would love to see a B-25 or a Mossie, I think the first bomber should be a german one to go some way to rebalancing the allied-axis divide. Soon we will have 5 allied fighters against 2 axis fighters with no future planned axis aircraft. In my opinion DCS 1944 will grow ED's customer base exponentially, just look at how many people play IL-2. Plus if they can model a large multi crew bomber with a large enough map for it to used correctly (not a 15 min flight to the target) then ED will offer players an experience not currently available in any other sim. Add to that other theatres such as the pacific and carrier based aircraft and DCS will probably be the most comprehensive combat simulator yet. I think develop of this era should be a priority as soon as DCS 2 is released as it will generate a greater income and therefore allow ED to increase their development output across all elements and eras of DCS. Just my two pence's worth. Jacks
  20. I can watch a relay using the track but can't seem to rewind or fast forward only speed up and slow down. If there a way to fast forward, rewind or select a time to watch?
  21. I would like a night mission as long as there is a discernible horizon when fly on water either with or without nvgs. If not there will be a lot of crashes!
  22. Brilliant thanks. It looks like I will have to go with a US theme. It would be great to see some british vehs in the future.
  23. Sorry bit of a term here the UK. When a feature or or training element is put into an exercise it is described as a serial. For example, during the last mission the final serial was an airfield assault. Poor choice of language on my part  Jacks
  24. I would like to create a number of Afghanistan scenario missions (mainly CAS, medevac and targeting and striking). In order to achieve this I am searching for some AI or player controlled Protected Mobilty vehicles such as mastiff, ridgeback, wolfhound, husky, jackal, buffalo, MRAP etc. I am also looking for an insurgent on a motorcycle model. Does anyone know if any such models exist as I cannot find them in the user files. Jacks
  25. Good job I have been practicing my ship landing technique. Any SAR serials planned?
