  1. Maybe reading through this thread will also help you? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=105526 However, I also still didn't manage to finish it ;-) Maybe I should try it again.
  2. I'm not aware of the minimum required airspeed of this plane, but yes, it seems low. I'm just wondering about the movie Con Air. Can the Cobra simply fly a lot faster than the Huey or is it simply way too much Hollywood?
  3. Still learning ;-) But maybe I have to heat it.... is there any way to set a plane speed (C-130)lower than 135 knots (doesn't look like)? I wanted to let the Huey follow a plane but for this, the plane shouldn't go faster than 110 to 120 knots. If not, I'll anyway have to abandon my mission idea.
  4. Ok, thank you both! It's pretty simply once you know this. Problem solved  However, IMO it's pretty strange that the editor isn't using either meters or feet. Mixing the values makes it difficult, especially because it never says ft or m behind the value. Definitively something that could be improved in the editor.
  5. I was trying to create my first mission but I don't understand the altitude trigger (needed to trigger the landing). I read in the forum that it's meter above sea level, but how do I find out this value on the map? I opened a working missions from another person and I e.g. noticed that the player (on the FARP) is listed at altitude 6155. The FARP object says it's at 2303; the same value the editor shows me when I move the mouse over the map. The trigger itself is set to 704 though (and working). Long story short, I don't get it... 3 different values and I have no idea why the trigger has to be set to altitude below 704 to work :helpsmilie:
  6. Thanks, I'll probably give the PCI setting a try.
  7. I'm using Windows 10 Pro (10.0.10586). The game runs in full screen and I have admin rights which means DCS should also have admin rights. (Edit: But I don't start the game with elevated rights / right click, start as administrator; if this was your question). I'm using the "balanced" energy saving settings and the screen power off is set to 20 min. Just as additional information: The video card is a GTX 570, driver version (NVIDIA GeForce Experience driver version 2.11.4.0).
  8. This never happened before the latest update, so I'm not sure if it's a new bug in version 1.5.4.55169 or if I simply never flew that long without touching the mouse. In my latest mission, the screen suddenly turned off / went to energy saving and I had to move the mouse to get back the video. I was lucky I didn't crash the Huey. Sure, I could simply complete disable the energy saving features in Windows, but IMO the system should notice that there's activity while DCS is running and being played. The energy saving for the screen for sure shouldn't start.
  9. In fact it seems even worse now. Before the latest update, the work around with pressing twice altgrp-j worked for me, but now even this doesn't work anymore. Glad to hear the devs are working on.
  10. Finally finished mission 6...this took me quite a while. While it almost became frutrating being shot off that many time by the first AAA, the satisfaction of completing it is even bigger. As usual, great script/story with this one. I like those twists in the story. And at least the 3rd AAA was no big problem because you could easily hide in the little gorge. @Razor18, too bad you didn't record it ;-) Edit: So much about finishing mission 7. It was great fun, but the Huey wasn't very stable after a being hit by the infantry. The landing itself was smooth, but the back shortly touched the ground. However, the mission counted as completed :music_whistling:
  11. No, there should be no reloading time afair. Just wondering if you've seen the video in this thread. Just in case, here's the direct link - it shows that they should "explode" immediately (watch at 21:40). [ame] [/ame] Maybe you missed something else before and it therefore won't be triggered?
  12. Yes, i checked that. But it should also work with summer if you copy the LandTexturesAutumnOther and rename it to LandTexturesSummerOther. At least it was working this way in 1.5.3. Anyway, never mind. I can also play it with the default trees....
  13. Thank you. I simply can't see the mistake in my case. I have all the folders you mentioned (I moved the complete vfstextures folder to the new location). The mod itself is enabled in JSGME.
  14. Yes, it also doesn't work anymore since 1.5.4. However, in another post/forum on this site, it was mentioned that you can press AltGr-j twice. This helped in my case (won't work in multiplayer though). Source: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=169060&page=4
  15. Same problem here...no more palms since 1.5.4. I adjusted the path and my palm textures point to DCS World\_Mods\DCS Vietnam by Starway\Mods\terrains\CaucasusBase\vfstextures\LandTexturesSummerOther and LandTexturesAutumnOther But this didn't seem to help.
  16. I noticed a slight Problem in mission 6. When you land and disembark the troops, it sometimes happen that one of the soldiers run into the Huey, forcing quite some damage. Well, best thing is to land and start immediately again (not waiting for any message). Beside that small problem, it's a very cool mission. But I wonder if I was shot down by an own mortar in my last attempt? At least, the cam switched to the mortar after I crashed. And also the mission log lists the mortar as last device that fired (no other troop firing according to the log). Or did I simply stress the Huey too much with the dodging? But I don't think so because I didn't raise the collective too much. Well, looks like I have to do it over again.
  17. It still seems to work with 1.5.4 ;-) Some feedback on mission 4. Edit: and feedback on mission 5
  18. It can be found in the user files section of the dcs site: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?arrFilter_pf%5Bfiletype%5D=3&arrFilter_pf%5Bgameversion%5D=89&arrFilter_pf%5Bfilelang%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Baircraft%5D=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&CREATED_BY=&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC&set_filter=Filter Edit: I don't know if it will work with the open beta. It works fine with the latest stable build.
  19. Thanks for the info. I just finished it. I also waited for a nice period of low traffic and used the gap. However, one car drove through me again when I was waiting on the bridge. But it was one with no collision detection ;-) So in the end I finally managed to finish the mission. Some feedback to SFC Tako to the mission. I put it into spoiler alert because it write of parts of the mission. Well, after finishing the 3rd mission of the campaign, the log says I flew 30 times. This means it takes me an average of 10 attempts to finish each mission. But that's ok - it a) shows that it's difficult and b) that it's fun to keep on trying and trying. DCS can't calculate though - it says that the success rate is 55% ;-) Curious to see what mission 4 will be like. Once again thank you for this wonderful campaign. Edit: BTW, I still didn't find the "correct" skin for this campain (as seen on the screenshots of the Bay of Hog download). Can you lead me the way?
  20. Thank you for the information. This means I still need a lot more practice how to start the thing heavily loaded on a mountain...
  21. Oh, they were stopping? Not in my case - they drove right through me. Maybe only the ones with collision detection are stopping and only if you already landed. I was hovering/taxi toward the bridge when the truck killed me. @SFC Tako: No, I'm not running a beta. It's the latest stable version.
  22. After not touching this missions for probably half a year, I thought I should be a better pilot by now...but I still don't manage to start. Gov on, slided to the edge and thought I could get some speed while sliding downhill. But the Huey simply tilts over, when I do this. While reading through this thread, I saw some comments about bugs and a modified mission. So I'm just wondering if it's still possible to finish the original, non-modified mission?
  23. I didn't know it can be turned off. Thanks for the hint. But I just checked the general settings and there's no such option. And in your mission file, it's set to "off", so I'm just wondering if this is a bug.
  24. Question about mission 3...may it be that some cars have collision detection and some not? On bridge 4 is heavy traffic and I first thought, how can I land there. But the cars drove through me...most of the time. Not today though, a truck hit me from the front and my Huey went up in a "nice" fireball :-/ This was quite a frustrating moment. I suppose if Kaukasus will once be transformed to DCS 2 with collision detection, then this mission will become impossible - the cars most probably won't stop when you're on the bridge.
