"ARGO" DCS UH-1H SP Campaign - Upcoming DLC
rge75 replied to gregzagk's topic in UH-1H Argo Campaign
Haha, omg ;-) At least it will force me to practice on my hover capatilities. Edit: Just finished mission 3...what shall I say. DLC campaign $9.99 - achieving the first ever sling load transport: priceless ;-) -
"ARGO" DCS UH-1H SP Campaign - Upcoming DLC
rge75 replied to gregzagk's topic in UH-1H Argo Campaign
I only did the first 2 missions so far. The difficulty level felt right to me so far (2 attempts in 1st mission, 1 attempt in 2nd mission). The "hovering part" of the 2nd mission took me quite a while though. Luckily I did not crash when landing on the ship so far, but it's always a challenge. I'm looking forward to the next missions. If the missions will get more difficult (still NOT looking forward to the sling load though *g*), I might struggle. But so far, the missions are very fair and as already mentioned, the atmosphere is nice. I like that there is quite some other traffic around. This makes the world live and believable. So far, it feels like the money was well spent. The very first cold start on a ship was really cool btw. The Huey already shakes nices on a normal airport, but it's even cooler on the swinging ship. I immediately felt home again after my long DCS break. -
Personally, I'm almost glad they're off even though I always played with the labels on so far. But I really didn't miss them in the first mission. Howerver, I read comments about people using VR/bad resolution. So IMO it should be OFF by default, but possible to turn them on. But I can only recommend to try it with the labels turned off. It teaches you to use the radio. FM is your friend :-)

Not sure if it's meant to be like this or not: In mission 1, after landing (first part of the mission) and restarting again, I keep getting the "***Reminder: Tune your ratio to 47 MHz FM for the ASW task***" message even though I set the FM correctly. So I think the reminder should't appear anymore. It made me unsure if I set the FM correct or not (but I found the target in the end, so the FM was set right). See screenshot which shows my FM and the reminder message.

"ARGO" DCS UH-1H SP Campaign - Upcoming DLC

I'll retry the mission later. Most probably it really was random and bad luck. The plane was on the landing approach when I was just leaving the landing lane (I was taxiing there after my landing approach). Edit: Did not happen when I played it the 2nd time. -

I decided to get it and started the first mission. So far, it feels right and the atmosphere is pretty good. Took me a while to do the cold start again after not having flown the Huey for maybe half a year. But you get used to it very quick again. However, I think I encountered a bug? I put it into the spoiler section because it discovers some of the story of the first mission. Unfortunately I did not manage to get the thumbnail within the spoiler. -
"ARGO" DCS UH-1H SP Campaign - Upcoming DLC

That's my main concern though (that it's too challenging to me). I'm really no "pro" and I'd call myself more a gamer than a simmer. I can land on the oil platform if the weather is fine. I was also able to land on a ship every now and then - but every now and then it ends in a nice fireball. So if it's too challenging, it might become too frustrating. Imagine finally having managed a mission after one hour in the 10 attempts to then crash at the final landing approach on the ship. So I'm far away from "master" the Huey. If there are things like landing on a ship during very bad weather, then there is most likely no way I'm gona be able to do this. -

Thanks for your feedback. Well, most probably I'll get stuck but I think I'll anyway get it. I remember having tried quite some single mission (over and over again) with sling load but I always failed. But I suppose if I have paid for the campaign, I won't give up that easily ;-) Either way, thank you for creating a new campaign. -

Just wondering if this is something for me or not. I really like the Huey and I'd like to have some new missions. But I'm not sure if my skills are good enough for it. I was able to complete the "original" campaign as well as the unofficial "Bay of Hogs". So with that said, I can do the "basics" in the Huey - BUT I never managed to hook up any cargo (sling loading) so far. Aside from the skills, I also simply think the TM stick isn't very accurate when it comes down to very small/sensitive movements which makes hover even more difficult. From the video and according to the name, it might have many cargo hook missions? So as long as I can't do this task, I might be lost with that new campaign? Well, if they're not bound to a time limit, I might anyway give it a try. -
Missions for the Huey are always welcome :-) Just keep in mind that the 2.5 update for DCS is scheduled for 2016 though - so hopefully it will also work with this version.

GreenWar - UH-1H mini-campaign on the NTTR

Just noticed that I also suddenly have the "missing F6" problem mentioned earlier in this post. Complete upuaut and ranger79 mod are installed, but who knows if any of the latest DCS 2 updates broke anything.... -
Isn't this almost the same like doing the modified mission? ;-) All it does is reducing weight. But I'll anyway once try it this way. I just did the "original" mission and noticed that there's sort of a "glitch". Once you land and the trigger for embarking is enabled, you could theoretically take off immediately again without waiting to have them on board. So you easily take off while not having the full weight yet. Yes, it's not very honorable and when doing so, you didn't do it right. It's simply cheating. But it's pretty strange that they can still embark while you're aleady in the air...
-
...well, I never managed to get airborne without crashing. That's why I used the adjusted version with lower weight. Must be lack of skills ;-)

As long as it will be possible to open the 1.5 miz file in 2.5... ;-)

I didn't find a list on the net. Is there a list (for the Huey) around - or is there any other way to find out what number and action I have to set? I only found out opening/closing doors while looking at the rescue mission. But I'd e.g. like to set the ROE for the door gunner. Edit: Sorry, didn't notice the sticky thread in this forum: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=81376 So this will do the trick: · The command ID can be obtained in the Game Options>Controls screen by hovering the mouse over the command description (left side of the screen). This functionality can be enabled in Mission Editor/Mission Editor.lua by changing the “OPTIONS_ADD_COMMAND_CODES_TO_TOOLTIP” line from “false” to “true”.

Thank you for the information. Well, that's bad news. I supose I'll anyway continue....but I need to finish it before the release of 2.5....
-
Exactly like this. No, those triggered actions are not bound to a waypoint. Now use the "normal" triggers. If you're unsure, check out the miz file I attached some posts earlier. I don't know how it's called in the english ME. But the trigger will be something like "do triggered action". You'll then be able to chose the action there.
-
See my scrernshot. You have to create a "triggered task" on the unit.
-
I attached an example miz and a screenshot. HTH ;) As you'll notice, the leader will NOT go to WP2. He'll switch to WP3 once the follower is within the moveable trigger zone. AI_BailOut_Example.miz
-
If I understood it correctly, then you can simply set a new flag when Plane enters the moving trigger zone of B. Then, you do 2nd trigger "time since flag (60)" (I suppose that's how it's called in the english version). To make it return to base, you can use the set waypoint for the AI. Simply set it to the last waypoint. I'm not quite sure if it's a default trigger or if you have to create a "triggered action" for the plane (3rd ribbon when you selected a plane).

I'm not sure if anybody will be able to answer this except the devs, but I'll ask the question anyway. Will we be able to open missions created in 1.5 in DCS 2.5? It would be quite horrible to put many hours into new missions/a campaign for DCS 1.5 to find out that it won't load in 2.5 anymore. Second, while working on some missions for DCS 1.5, I noticed that the updated Caucasus map for DCS 2.5 will have a lot more trees. This is (graphically) a nice addition, but I'm wondering if significant clearing in forests will remain. I e.g. use a specific location for my whole campaign due to a clearing. So if they would completely change this (if the clearing would have disappeared), I can throw away the whole campaign, especially because the updated maps will have collision detection for trees. In other words, would it be best to not start/continue creating any new mission/campaign until 2.5 has been released. Hopefully somebody has some info about this.
-
You're welcome ;-) Suggestions are always good. They make you think about it. I mean, the door gunner was a very good suggestion and that's why I added it.
-
You're right according to the release notes of 1.5. But I simply can't see a visual difference in the game, no matter if I enable this check box or not. We're talking of this checkbox in the lower right corner, aren't we? BTW, may it be that the CTLD/Mist needs quite some ressources? It seemed like I had a lot more stuttering when accelerating the time (no problem with default speed though). I think I'll actually leave it the way it is and I'll start working on the next mission. CTLD for sure is great from what I've seen, especially when you have the whole battle a lot more dynamic with less scripted things. In my case, it isn't urgently needed atm though. Edit: About the temperature for this mission. I read that the temperatures were "normal" in the morning of this battle. They became a lot warmer during the day. So I didn't increase the temperature too much. I set it to 27°C (80,6°F).

Sorry if I don't get it. I have a checkbox "Sicht säubern" in the ME which IMO means "Clear View". But what it does is clearing (deleting) previous messages before showing the new message. So I don't quite understand what you mean. However, I now added an additional line feet to every text message.
-
What do you mean with clearview? Setting the checkbox in the ME to clear previous text? This doesn't make a difference on my screen. What I could do is adding a line feet before the first text. This way everything would be slightly down.
