  1. Does the Su-27 have this? I would like to be able to use the toe brakes on my rudder pedals :D
  2. There is a glitch in the Su-25T. See attached screenshot. This was the training mission for shkval (I landed at the end). This was variable with zoom. The more I zoomed out the more the glitch showed but the more zoomed in I was the less it was (nil at normal zoom I think)
  3. +1000 I would really want to see an Advanced System Model for the Su-27! That would be EPIC! I'm more than willing to drop good money on that!
  4. Could these settings (graphics etc.) be posted in a wiki with explanations?
  5. Yeah but I don't want to have to do that EVERY time I start a mission. There must a better way.
  6. Is there a way to set the TrackIR default zoom? I find that when the game starts it's zoomed in too close when TrackIR z axis is enabled in DCS. I can "hack" around it by zooming in before game start but I would rather hack some lua file for this instead. Does anyone know where to find the line to modify? Or maybe it's an exposed setting that I don't know of.
  7. I've tried playing back my track from a simple mission I ran (basic take off and land) and it was cut off prematurely. I did accelerate the bit where I taxied first though so this might be related. Has anyone else experienced this?
  8. At 45000ft (13000) meters I find it very difficult to maintain my speed above 500kph. Any tips on how to reach Mach 1 let alone Mach 1.5
  9. I do pull up fairly quickly when I have a decent amount of forward momentum. I read the Su-27 has a service ceiling of 19,000m which so I'm 6,000 meters below this. What is the general technique for a zoom climb? I thought it was all about converting forward momentum to upward momentum. How to do it with out stalling?
  10. How do you zoom climb? I've tried on the Su-27 and I've only gotten to about 13,000 m. Some people have gotten to at least 25,000 but I find the plane stalls easily past 10,000 m. Does anyone have a video or a track of how to do it? The way I did it was air speed was around 800-900 kph at around 8000m and then I pulled up to around 60 degrees above horizon. At 13,000 I would stall. I use full aft the entire time.
  11. +1 this would be very useful to know as well
  12. I remember back in flanker that the Su-33 had optical guided rockets (anti-ship missiles mainly). I don't think this is implemented in DCS. Does anyone know if the Su-33 or maybe even MiG-29K would have optical guided systems? I would really like to see those if they exist on the real planes themselves.
  13. What about landing? For example using the wheel brake after touch down and then making slight adjustments with the rudder will cause the tires to burst as well. It just seems like they are VERY delicate
  14. It seems to me that the Su 27 tires burst really easily. For example, I have burst them while taxing. I think my speed (at least based on 1.2) was around 40-60 km/h. Does anyone have this issue? Is this a feature or a bug?
  15. To clarify, the MiG 29 doesn't have an MFD just a HUD repeater? How does one navigate or do BVR with AWACs?
  16. I like that in 1.5 the sun flares off the canopy to reveal the imperfections in the glass. When I was flying I thought that the stars were actually frost showing up on the canopy at high altitude. However I was wrong. But it got me thinking that that would be a really cool addition to the canopy effects.
  17. I copied the FC2 missions over and ran the Su-27 ramp start / navigation. Crashed sometime 15 minutes or so into the sim. DxDiag.txt with system info. 18. Good call on the system sounds. A possible set up would be to have three outputs: One for enviroment (wind noise , engine) which would go to speakers with a woofer, then another one for warnings & betty for smaller speakers, and finally a third output for headphones for ATC / wingmen. I think that would be a pretty epic setup :D
  19. For example I didn't know what was meant by flame-out in this thread that I started: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2489060 I think that it would be useful to have a reference for terms like that.
  20. Is there a glossary of terms anywhere on here? Maybe a wiki? Some threads are difficult to follow because certain terms are not 100% clear.
  21. I don't know if there is a way to currently do this but I think it would be neat to be able to route different sounds to different sound interfaces in DCS. So for example lets say I have two audio outputs: one for headphones and one for speakers. To get a "realistic" atmosphere I could then have ATC / Wingmen on the headphones and all the other sounds go through speakers. It would be pretty neat.
  22. The thing is that the engines themselves are actually not flamed out. I did a little bit of playing around with this. Basically what I did is just fly inverted for a while and the engines will shut off. If you can then flip back they will come back on. It seems to be pretty consistent. The likely cause is what DarkFire described with the fuel cache tank being drained when upside-down. Now if it's a stable inverted stall and the plane is falling like a rock then there's no way to recover even though the engine could function if inverted back. One thing I would like to confirm though is that this is a feature (in other words a design flaw in the Su-27 itself) rather than a bug in the modelling.
  23. Is this the same as using the 's' key to disable fbw?
  24. Question: Will it be possible to mod this map? I'm asking because I'm a bit OCD about some of the name changes. It would be neat if users could make the changes on their own thereby removing liability from ED.
  25. What does this do exactly? I thought W is the wheel brake.
