  1. I doubt that a drop in sales in this environment would be attributed to support for one party (or the opposite for the other). It's natural that people who are concerned about the future of DCS would delay purchases, regardless of how they feel about RB. If there was a sudden bounce in RB sales in this environment, *that* might be taken to mean something...
  2. So Alpha Juliet was a paid employee when he was a CM? I always thought he was a volunteer for some reason, if he was paid I'm glad.
  3. Forgive me for visiting the sins of the parent on the kids in this analogy... The M2K IMO was a pretty basic module until the AdA got involved, years after it was supposedly out of EA. After the dearth of updates earlier in the Harrier's life, that supposedly left EA in 2020 - although I will give Razbam some credit for honesty, as their official Discord's FAQ on the Harrier acknowledges that it still lacks features and concedes that resources are not currently available to complete it, despite the time that's passed since it hit release. It's really sad to see all of that appear to come back around, this time amplified to a complete suspension of support for the F-15E. I hope the current suspension proves temporary and Razbam finish the F-15E at least (I suspect other Harrier folks like me are resigned to it staying as it is), but I think this should probably be Razbam's last module for DCS, and I personally doubt they would be able to sell another after this anyway - although people do have short memories. Let's hope the development of the SA map doesn't end up running into similar problems, although if that has different devs, that might be a solid reason for hope.
  4. Just a suggestion: Maybe (when you’re back home) update the first post with this worst case scenario? In the old thread I think some people were effectively asking if this was the case. Might save repeating yourself later.
  5. Ok, that browser screenshot seems to come from this Reddit thread where they do indeed talk about this error happening. While that isn't confirmed by ED it's enough for me, I agree this has happened at least twice as Rainmaker stated.
  6. You showed one example and a dodgy browser screenshot. Again, I acknowledge that it happened once, despite your unsupported assertion that it happened multiple times. I'm simply pointing out that it is indeed unsupported. Edit: Searches for 'discount' and 'sale' in the F-15E forum come up empty as far as I can see. You seem to know where this was referenced, so it shouldn't be a problem for you to find confirmation.
  7. You proved far enough for me that it happened once. If you can prove it happened again then fair enough, otherwise edit your previous posts so they don't suggest it did happen more than once.
  8. I probably could, but wouldn't. Ok, if you're talking about this being on sale for a couple of hours in error once then fair enough.
  9. And there has been a request that statements like that come from official sources or not at all. If you had an actual source you could do better than a browser screenshot.
  10. Meant to edit this into my previous post, added in context there. It would explain the BS3 price too.
  11. Yeah, and that's the exact price someone buying their first module would have seen with their 50% introductory discount. I mean actual proof, not a screenshot from a browser. Edit: That screenshot is from a Reddit thread here where others speak about this. Along with the additional link provided by Rainmaker below (that one confirmed by ED) it's enough for me.
  12. Can you link an official source on that, or do you have anything to corroborate it? Saying a product has been improperly discounted is a serious charge, even if it doesn't lead to material loss it can make it more difficult to sell a product at full price, so if that can be confirmed it would definitely be relevant to the current situation, if it can be backed up. If you are able to confirm you're speaking officially on behalf of Razbam that would do, for me at least.
  13. When was it that the F-15E was on sale? I've gone back through the news since the mudhen hit EA and it's not listed as discounted in any of the sales.
  14. Others may know more, but if I’ve understood the problem right this will be a problem with the way your AV software responds to the module, that’s outside ED’s (or Razbam’s) control, and nothing to do with the issues between ED and Razbam currently. Adding your DCS folder to the ignore list in your AV software is the usual fix. Edit: Czar66 beat me to it
  15. I see, I’m glad that’s not the norm. Cheers for the info
  16. Just curious if the Phoenix gets the advantage of its large warhead in the sim, or whether a single AMRAAM is generally sufficient against bombers and large aircraft. I did search but didn't find any existing topics on this, apologies if it has been asked before (as I kind of expected it would).
  17. I've seen this happen many times, especially with peripheral 'configurators'. In fairness I was a bit alarmed at the idea the first time I saw it too, but it's not something that out of the ordinary. ED has no control over what your AV software excludes or doesn't - if software developers could do that, then everyone developing malware would simply program it to be excluded from AV checks. If you'd like a permanent fix I suggest you speak to your AV software company (Edit: I wouldn't expect them to help, other than to advise you to exclude the software if you know it's safe). If you haven't actively installed an AV and you are running Windows 10 or later, then your AV will be Windows Defender. Edit 2: One such example
  18. I do believe Razbam's initial statement explaining their decision to suspend support for their modules may have been calculated to try to shift blame for their modules being unsupported to ED. If you see a reason to exclude that as a possibility please say so. I don't feel any need to stay silent on what I see as a possible motivation for an action simply because it might encourage or validate people who think badly about one party or the other. I understand that you see that differently. I'm not trying to incite any kind of mob action, simply exercising the opportunity to voice my opinion. In terms of the non-payment vs IP infringement thing, I don't see an obvious villain there, so perhaps we're agreed on that. Razbam's decision to suspend support is a different matter IMO, but I've already had plenty of chance to voice my opinion on that.
  19. I'll restate what I said in the last sentence of my previous post: Razbam might have had a reason for wanting to settle this out of court, with finances being one possible reason, and wanting to settle out of court *does not necessarily mean they felt their case was weak*. I don't know if a lot more litigations would lead to economic collapse, but I think it's probably moot because a large increase in the number of cases going to court would cause the legal system to grind to a halt before it could threaten a national economy. I was asked why I thought Razbam went public, I went with the answer which assumed it was a reasoned action. I absolutely agree that their going public could have been the result of frustration rather than a value judgement. Personally, when I see an action, especially in business, and that action might either have been the result of a conscious decision or an emotional response, I usually assume reason won out. YMMV.
  20. I am glad we at least agree public silence carries no negative evidentiary weight, which was the actual subject. However, I never said or suggested publicly discussing the issue didn't damage Razbam's case. What I said was that if they did want to keep action out of court, the reason may not be a weak case. I strongly disagree that public silence is ever damaging to a case. It is unfortunate if you know otherwise but can't discuss it, as obviously that means it's neither something that can be used to support your thesis, nor can we investigate it further. However, in deference to the suggestion that there is more to say that you cannot speak about, and to avoid getting into a 'Yes it is, no it isn't' argument, I'm willing to bury the point here.
  21. I think you might be distorting this argument, or maybe you just didn't read closely. I'll captitalize the words in my post that you responded to...
  22. To try to offer the public an explanation for suspending support of their modules that placed the blame on ED rather than themselves. I don’t think for a second a lawyer suggested it would help their legal case. Edit: I suspect (I don’t claim to have knowledge of their game plan) everything Razbam have done from the announcement of the suspension of support onwards has been about trying to use the public to put pressure on ED to accept an out-of-court agreement more favorable to Razbam than they would otherwise get. I wouldn’t be surprised if they felt they had to keep this out of court - not necessarily because their case was so weak, perhaps because of their financial position or some other reason.
  23. Members of the public might reach their own conclusions about silence, as appears to have happened here, but I’d be extremely surprised if any court of law has ever stated that someone’s case was weakened by not commenting on a dispute publicly. Edit: Just to be clear, I am saying I don’t believe any court has ever construed public silence as evidence of liability.
  24. If I am ED (clearly I'm not) my working assumption is that Razbam are headed for administration/bankruptcy no matter what happens in court. If I wait for an agreement or judgement to decide how much I owe them after adjusting for the other issues, I can pay them exactly what I owe and keep all of the remainder due me. If I pay Razbam what their earnings I've retained and then claim back what I'm owed and they go into bankruptcy, chances are I only get a share of my due. My conclusion would be that handing them the amount I've retained means flushing money down the toilet. The choice from ED's point of view is easy, even if that sucks for us.
  25. IIRC Razbam said they would roll out features for the mudhen in roughly chronological order (please correct me if I'm wrong). Anyone know how far they got (ie the year, block, suite or any other identifier)? Wait for the server maintenance...
