  1. The best solution I've found for a flat surface is 3m picture hanging strips. http://www.amazon.com/Command-Medium-Picture-Hanging-Strips-12-Picture/dp/B00I2XSWSY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1450234845&sr=8-2&keywords=3m+picture+strip They're like highly reusable Velcro that never wears out. So you can pick your pedals up and put them back down again. As long as you're ok with the bottom half of the strip remaining on the floor. They even work really good for hanging pictures oddly enough. They won't get gooey and they can be easily removed at any time with the pull tab they have on them. Plus they're the perfect height to work with the crosswinds without taking off the rubber feet even. They seal them down like a rock and they won't budge in the slightest. I use mine on a wheel stand pro, which has a steel platform. Its more convenient than drilling holes in the plate and hard mounting them, because they're plenty stable and can still be pulled off in a second and put back down. In case you want to adjust them, this is handy to not have to take out bolts.
  2. I ended up with the low tension position on the cam, the shallow cam, and the spring barely tightened. Definitely enjoying.
  3. So the cannon fire still appears to be coming from above the cockpit when the barrel is underneath the plane. I assume this is a bug, though I haven't seen it acknowledged that it's known yet.
  4. Yeah, sounds like he's really chewing through them. You ordered a month after me, so that's about 80 a month. I tried them out for 15 minutes so far and all I can say is you're in for a treat. It can't even be described what a different experience these are. I haven't flown the KA-50 in over a month (couldn't remember the startup and had to cheat to get in the air even), and I'm more confident moving around with these than I was at my absolute best with the old pedals. Worth twice the price they cost.
  5. Mines plugged into a USB3 capable hub, but the hub itself is plugged into a USB2 port. It works fine that way for what it's worth. Honestly never tried it in a USB3 port because it seemed like asking for it.
  6. 1337 Is the number I thought it was for a moment. I haven't even tried them out yet, they just arrived. Very excited to see how they are in the KA-50. Might be a Huey in the self Christmas gift stocking now.
  7. Shame you live in Norway, Would love to sell my used Saiteks now. Still in great shape if someone in North America wants.
  8. Well, nothing, but it is very close to a significant number.
  9. ALMOST special edition crosswinds. Fooled me for a second. Someone out there has the ones I'm thinking of. So close yet so far.
  10. I notice I have a large drop in FPS when I close my canopy. My trackir becomes super stuttery and hard to use. I have a cold start mission in krymsk i made with zero other planes or objects in the world and as soon as I closed my canopy I dropped to 50fps from above 60.
  11. I notice some of the toggle switches have their separate commands back. Would still be nice to also have separate commands for guns and missiles on/off. The effect trails of bullets sill fly from above the canopy instead of underneath the plane at the gun barrel. I now get large framerate hit on the ground the moment I close the canopy. I didn't notice this prior to 1.5.1. I have a totally empty cold start mission I made out of krymsk for testing, and when I close the canopy I drop to 50fps and my trackir becomes very choppy. It stays choppy untill I get a fair distance away from krymsk. If I fly back over I start dropping frames again.
  12. Now if only the real mig21 could do 4000 kph at 3000 meters until the wings and just about everything else burns off. My "Kig 21" is peaceful, I put hardpoints on the wings with science equipment on them though.
  13. Action shot of version 2
  14. Well, I made my first successful fixed wing craft in Kerbal Space Program. And what better plane than the Mig 21. Kerbal version, the Kig 21. Like the real thing it had to be fast. Too fast. You can burn the wings right off. The engines flamed out at 28000 meters from lack of oxygen, but it made it all the way to 54000 on momentum. And I didn't even need the forced air restart to get it going again once it came down.
  15. This particular crash is fixed in the latest hotfix. Have now continued on the "deployment" campaign a few missions past.
  16. No, because the fun is building it even more than using it.
  17. Are the mentioned toggle controls that are being put back coming at the same time as everything else?
  18. Well yeah, if you're going to have the f-14 you need to have the mig 28 right? Seriously I can't wait to have something for the 21 to go against properly.
  19. Just give me a full DCS level SU-27sm or some SU-35 variant and I can die happy. Also give me this...
  20. My problem with all the manuals I've so far is they have a picture of something in the cockpit then a big multi page numbered list you have to refer to. Which is a real pain with a pdf, unless you print it out. Chucks guide on the other hand is fantastic at condensing information into less space. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-uSpZROuEd3d0NuYzJfbWFnblU/view

  21. Mission 4 of the first campaign, where you have to escape the farp at night crashes for me every time at around the same point. Right when the radio chatter is going on about sending reinforcements you get a message talking about how Abraham is riled up and counterattacking. At that point I get a crash to desktop every time so far with "dcs has stopped working".
  22. By holding town the uncage/aim shkval button on the stick with the helmet sight it it just constantly follows it. So once you have the target area from looking out the window you just keep holding it down and glance over at the shkval monitor and start slewing it around at will and spraying the countryside with bullets. Better yet exploding bullets. It's got a little jitteryness to it but overall it's a lot of fun. My second monitor is to my right so I can move my eyes to it without moving my head then I can even still see enough of the main view to rotate the helicopter around through peripheral vision. It's also really nice for scanning the horizon or towns you're approaching.
  23. I did my first successful combat campaign mission tonight in 1.5 in the KA-50. The escort convoy mission. I was really struggling with it then I got my second monitor set up with the shkval and abris finally. Beautiful to have a half screen shkval. Slewing the cannon around with trackir and the shkval slaved to your helmet mounted display mowing down soldiers with HE rounds is really awesome. My love of helicopters from the Janes longbow days is coming back. The KA-50 might be making things tough for the mig21 to remain my favorite module now.
  24. So I'm starting to get a lot more comfortable with the controls in my training. Been practicing around Mozdok in the cold start mission. Moving around the tarmac, landing on rooftops in the city for practice. Do you think they kick you out of the Russian air force if you pull up to the stop lights and start a lowrider bouncing contest with your KA-50?
  25. I think that's just the cold start mission on further experimentation. I tried using the mission editor to replace the mig21 with the SU-27 and the T-51. The mig21 actually got one or two FPS more than those aircraft in the exact same mission.
