  2. Hey good people, A-10C Georgian Hammer with CA campaign mission # 3 crashed twice on start up tonight. Dam,very disappointed cause I wanted to progress in this campaign. I've actually already finished all of it in our previous vers but was looking forward to the textures and scenery in this one. Does anyone know how long this fix usually takes and does the latest 1.5 gb patch solve this? I haven't received a prompt to download it on my mega rig yet but my laptop did, which is weird. I thought I read that the big update we got a couple of days ago addressed GH with CA that makes it work in 2.5 Beta or words to that affect. Anyway, hate crashes.. of both kinds.
  3. Lat/Long all good but UTM quite awesome! Hey thanks a bunch Shadow I'll take that on board man. And just a few min ago I took a test flight and found that the 10 digit UTM co ordinates were more accurate but admittedly I was over the target but it directly locked my TGP right on it, I was around angels 11. I've used UTM before but only in ingame campaigns and not opting to choose myself because I wasn't entirely sure it was the right one but now I'll def use UTM more often in my own missions. Lat/Long query Thanks for reply Frederf, I fly A-10C, not sure what difference altitude has or the specifics relating to logging in co ordinates into my CDU has got to do with that but after I went thru the four different co ordinates or readings if you like. I may have found the problem or maybe you could advise me on this. Quite clearly there are two which I cannot load into my CDU but there are two definite Lat/Long. I'm thinking screen shot ending in 220833 would be the one to load yes? Or is it 220820? I usually have no dramas with this but last night seem to have a problem. Anyway, any help much appreciated.   5. Hey good folk, Just wondering if there is a prob with Lat/Long co ords once loaded giving accurate position in TGP. I created a winter mission with heaps of snow and when I entered lat/long coordinates of a target from F10 map or F7 I was scoping around for ages and couldn't see anything. Dble checked CDU and re entered them, same thing, no luck except when I had to zoom out quite a lot. I know there are variances and I'm used to it being off a little ways but this was quite far. I threw the ruler on it and measured from tgt to original slaved diamond and it was like over 1.2 kms. Does the snow make a difference? I quickly loaded up another inbuilt mission in summer and it wasn't as bad. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem and maybe this is something that needs attention as part of Beta? Couldn't keep experimenting as it got too late. Cheers G

  9. ALL GOOD!! Now snap view is now saving! I don't know why/when/where/how but the dam thing is working!

  11. Thanks firmek, very much appreciate your input mate. I'm not sure why this is happening all of a sudden. I usually have no prob with this once it is set to different views within the pit. I will try looking for that option you mentioned but the other I'll leave alone. I have little experience with scripts and stuff like that. Cheers G EDIT: I just tried to again and this time using my laptop with just kb and mouse as I thought my HOTAS on the big rig might be causing the problem but still same results. Snap view won't save and I'm not sure why. I couldn't find that setting you mentioned, looked everywhere. Only one that relates is the User Snap View Save in the Misc options. Although halfway thru writing this I found some success and all views stayed put in no matter what campaign or single mission I load incl my own ones except when I go to that A-10C Sturmovik mission. As once I hit rgt Ctrl num pad 0 in that campaign mission all the saves are gone in the others when I return. Never had this prob before, I used to just save the views and they stay put in all missions. Very sorry, last edit, over it now and kinda beaten Seems like it doesn't matter which mission or campaign, snap not saving at all
  12. Hey all, I'm having some probs in my A-10C with my snap view not staying in the view I save to. Just spent near 2 hours friggin around with this thing. Every time I leave and revisit a mission, whether it's one I've made or one that's in a campaign I have to go through and reset all the views again. It's a real pain in the behind. Anyone else having this trouble? And yep I have the User Save Snap Views box ticked. I'm wondering if it's got anything to do with 2.5 Beta or something I've missed? It seems to be working now, that was just so weird Nope still screwy and it's when I go that Sturmovik Campaign mission and try to set my Snap View then leave that mission and try in another the snap view is not set again? it's really weird. I give up.

Azimuth line and the other line (which I forget the name of) with the little pipper that runs down it thru your reticle at around 6 secs whilst your holding your weapon release button should line up nicely together when your nearing the target, don't worry bout the SPI if you've already slaved sensors to it, the CCRP will do the rest brother. And what I do is for better results, trim and then engage your Alt/Head for a nice stable approach to target and let some flare n chaff loose for good measure. Hope that helps, cheers G

  17. Three cheers for Dzen! Hey thanks Dzen, that is totally awesome of you to do this. Initially I thought this was a DCS build but that’s cool. Anyway I appreciate it very much. Only just started mission 1 last night and got fried after two attempts but now after reading your tips I’ll def be going low tonight when I give it another try. And what a great precursor to this campaign, nice idea man. I seem to remember another campaign mission that started like this, where you had limited time and needed to scramble, it makes for an interesting scenario and really gets you going. And wow 14 story driven campaign missions all for the price of a download? Who could ask for more? Thanks a bunch Dzen, Cheers G :thumbup:
  18. Hey there good people I've only had Open Beta for a week or so now and I must say it's absolutely beautiful, I'm so impressed and experienced only minimal probs. I wish to send out a big thanks of appreciation to ED and all the Devs incl 3rd Party Devs, Testers and all who helped to create and bring this fantastic version forward and those tireless unsung hero peeps here in the Forum who help with answering questions and queries from comrades like me. I also want to send out a big thank you for incorporating a new A-10C Sturmovik campaign within this new Open Beta, I so love campaigns and I'm just about to embark on it after I finish this little speil. I'm also really enjoying these really nice textures, landscapes and graphics and not to mention the awesome new explosions. I've put together a few missions already and found no dramas at all and It's a real pleasure to slide all my settings to the right and max everything else out, and personally I reckon this vers actually performs better than the last one and I'm sure it will only get better as more issues are resolved. I really think this is a great achievement and I hope more peeps like me just have a little think of how much work and effort must go into something like this. Remember this is no multi bagillion $ outfit like EA, Ubisoft, Lucas etc that virtually has unlimited resources and 1K plus teams. Anyway without getting too bogged down in all that. I only wanted to say thank you big time to all concerned and show my appreciation here in the Forum with this post. Cheers, peace out Gaz
  19. Hey good people. I'm trying to find a certain lua.file? I watched Wags 6th installment of the FA18 on YT and really like the intro as he had this slow pan external view goin on which looked great. First I thought it was 3rd party software generated so I asked him in the comment. He said you can adjust the pan view speed in the view lua. file. I looked through a heap of lua files and couldn't find it and if I did find it how would the speed be adjusted? It's a really cool view and I sure would like it for my A-10C too. Regards G

  21. Pers prefs.. That’s a good question and I think it depends on a few factors like space, comfortablity, ease of use and even $$$ to a certain degree. Personally my set up was governed by the space I had in my apartment and how to utilise it. I’m happy with my Joystick on the right hand side as my keyboard sits pretty well in between both Throttle and Stick. I guess if I had a big house with a nice groovy man-cave downstairs I would go for a full set up with a centre stick but I’m happy with my kitchen/living room bench creating a nice pit. It’s a good set up for me and works well for my situation and I don’t think I could have my Joystick anywhere else really. Cheers, regards Gaz :)

  23. Thanks very much Grimes, I'll give it a try. I've never seen those type of Co-Ords before though. It worked! Thanks a bunch! LAlt or RAlt Y works perfectly, sorry to trouble but I've never seen that before, this in Beta I thought.. you know Thank you kindly man
