  1. Hi Dr_Watson Thanks for your feed back and glad you are enjoying it. Just run through your comments. Note your comment on the tanker . Will have a look at it . But what I am trying to do is help those with VR and maximise performance by only having units active when they start to play a role in the mission, its all about maximising resources and of course timing as well to ensure the tanker is in a location which keeps with the flow of the mission. Mission 8, the Maverick mission , I have checked your comment out on the distance to contact JTAC. You found if too far out the mission does not proceed. Checking the script , neither the JTAC or their lased targets are the result of a trigger they are both there from the beginning of the mission. This means there is nothing in the campaign scripting restricting you from contacting them earlier. (If you already know their contact details etc). Maybe you have not had success at a longer distance as a result of radio and line of sight etc, they are down in a valley. Anyway only restriction from doing what you suggest would be the DCS Simulation and not the campaign scripting there is no trigger input as you suspected. Regarding requesting the second coords . You are given the original mission message and coordinates to start with. These coordinates will stay on line for a good period maybe 90 seconds. The idea is you only select the re-show of the coordinates if the original mission message and coordinates disappear before your finished. In this case you can then select the F10 menu to reshow the coordinates. This will only show the coordinates not the mission message again. Its very much a back up for those of us with our heads in a VR headset trying to remember the coordinates. Just checked the mission scripting for the last mission " Now or never". You should be getting a text message when the MIGs are first spotted telling you what to do . This radio and text message is up for 60 seconds. So not sure how you missed it. I will fly it my end by way of a check but that's what is in the campaign scripting. Let me know if you are still having a problem. Thanks again for the feed back sounds as if you have almost got "Snake" beat
  2. I’m sure you will. also there is no time limit getting to the targets so you can conserve fuel on the way.
  3. Hi To be honest the A2A refuel is part of the mission challenge. You shouldn't really add a fuel tank at the beginning. For pilots that haven't quite got A2A refuel down yet I actually provide an additional campaign version with 'easier 'A2A refuel' with the normal version. The brief and Radio instructions do not say to tank if needed. They give an instruction to tank. This is because unless you issue the F10 message that the tank is complete the rest of the mission will not unfold. I just checked out the mission. I had no problems picking up the tankers Tacan. Not sure why you didn't. Are you sure you used the correct Tacan channel and also selected the AA option when setting up your Tacan? Hope this helps
  4. Checked this out. The tanker will fly for 83 miles and then despawn. As this Campaign has been designed to be VR friendly once a unit is no longer needed it is removed to help VR resources. Normally there should be plenty of time to find the tanker and plug prior to the tanker travelling the 83 miles as it spawns quite close to your initial position. Do you think this is what happened? The tanker would be almost at the coast. Hope this helps
  5. Hi Can you give me more information so I can check it out. What was your location when this happened. Did you take a long time to find the tanker? As much info as possible and I will look into it. Thanks
  6. Hi No idea at the moment these things take an enormous amount of time. I am waiting for the lead role to complete his voice files. I am really stuck until I get these. Also smoothing out bugs in the last few missions and finally in the hands of ED as to when it would be published. So you see it’s difficult to say but will get it done as soon as I can. Always looking for voice actors though as cannot do these things without them.
  7. Oh forgot to mention the Serpent’s Head 2 Campaign has to versions included. One normal and the other with EZ A2A refuel. The latter for pilots who haven’t quite got the black art of capturing the basket down yet. Of course you get both so when you can Plug you can fly it again but using the normal version.
  8. Thanks, hope you enjoy. Just so you know, I am working on the next campaign and have been for 9 months. This will follow Ford and his wingman from the Black Sea to the Gulf. This a 15 mission campaign. He is based on the USS Abraham Lincoln SC and there will face a new foe. ‘The Rise of the Persian Lion’.
  9. Glad you enjoyed the campaign. You should now try the Serpent’s Head 2 Campaign. It follows on from this campaign. Cheers
  10. Thanks badriver glad you enjoyed it. Three quarters the way through producing the follow up. This is a 15 mission campaign. It will follow Ford’s progress when he and his wing man are posted from the Stennis in the Black Sea to a new problem in the Gulf. This will be on the USS Abraham Lincoln. It’s called RISE OF THE PERSIAN LION.
  11. No, when I did my test I always put the code in on the way to the target. No problems
  12. Just checked this out. It worked first time for me . I took the first target from the direction you initially approach from . I don't think your approach direction makes any difference. I took the second target from the South. I assume you have gone through the 9 line correctly as JTAC have said lasing. Once he is lasing just point your aircraft at the target, at this point Mav will still be crossed, make sure the display you have the AGM cross and circle on has been selected , the little diamond top right. Then, and I think this may be your issue , you need to uncage the maverick and it will search for and settle on the lased target. At this point the cross will be removed from the Mav and you can fire. But make sure you complete the 9 line dialog until he clears you hot. With the second target you will just get a shift response from JTAC which means he is already lasing the second target for you. Oh and make sure you have given the mavericks the correct code . Its the big number on the display. Sounds like you have done that anyway. Hope this helps , but I do not believe there is a bug. Cheers Glyn ( Badger633)
  13. Hi Rukes I will look into it. It might be a bug as it worked before. Will get back to you.
  14. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes there is no doubt having to deal with the scenarios and techniques required makes you explore the Hornet in more detail.
  15. Hi ZMEY-HS- Thanks very much for this . It is much appreciated. Cheers Glyn
  16. I am probably missing something basic here but would appreciate a little help. My issue is as follows : 1.0 When flying the Hornet from a hot start the radar operates fine. What I mean by this is on the Radar attack page you not only do you get aircraft icons but at the top of the display you get RWR yellow triangles indicating beams from other aircraft. All good. If I go into the data page at the top left button 5 there is "RWR ATTK" button by which you can switch the triangles on and off. All Good. 2.0 When I perform a cold start I will activate the RWR and also the radar. However I never see the triangles at the top of the radar page and when I go to the radar data page the "RWR ATTK" button 5 is not there to select them on and off. Obviously something I am doing or not doing when activating these devices. 3.0 Experimenting I started in a hot start so the the radar was fine showing the RWR triangles at the top. I then switched off the RWR system. The triangles obviously disappeared as there was no feed from the RWR system. But when I switched the RWR system on again ( trying with RWR HUD display on and off) the RWR triangles do not appear again on the radar display and also the "RWR ATTK" button has disappeared from the radar data page on button 5 so cannot turn the RWR triangles on. I am obviously missing something obvious, any help much appreciated. Cheers
  17. Hi R.MES Glad your enjoying the campaign :) Regarding your comments : 1.0 The honest answer is I don't know. 2.0 Yes your correct to change the formats you have to press the LATLN button on the A/C page. I'm afraid the ACT is a typo and I meant you could deal with it on the A/C page. Will get that changed. In the new campaign I am writing at the moment I have given a clear description and indicated which button it is. Thanks for pointing it out though. 3.0 The Serpents Head 2 was actually written a long time ago. Even before the supercarrier was brought out and before the various Case approaches were fully established in DCS. So this is why the response is as you have indicated. My current campaign apart from being some 15 missions continues Fords career as he moves to the Gulf. Obviously the new campaign fully embraces the Abraham Lincoln Super Carrier and all the Case procedures as they are all now firmly in the main stream DCS. Hope you enjoy the rest of the campaign and sorting out "Snake", he's a slippery customer. The new campaign I am producing is called "Rise of the Persian Lion" Glyn (Badger 633)
  18. HI fredeagle Just checked the script. To pass you needed to have landed and come to a stop on the Stennis. You also need to have landed and taken off from Kobuleti. Most important you needed to have followed the ATC instructions at Kobuleti and after your pick up and refuel taxied up the very end of the taxi way to the very beginning runway 25 and at the last entry turn onto runway 25. So when you take off your using the full length of runway 25. It is important that you used the taxi way to the very beginning of the runway. Are you sure you did exactly this Just so you know compliance with Case procedures is not an issue for passing the mission. Hope this helps
  19. HI MRamon You need to keep at least 40 miles ( can get away with 35 miles at a push) from the target any closer and they will go into red alert and shoot down all your missiles. See second item under TIPs in the "in game" briefing it is discussed there. So you need to keep high enough to get the range without going too close. This is the challenge of this mission. Hope this helps.
  20. HI SMN. I'm sure your right the change may have not helped matters. However, Just flew mission 3 just now. I had no problem taking out SAMs. I did fire my HARM from 10 miles but at 15,000 feet. The thing is that due to some SAM locations you need to get high enough to ensure you do not hit trees etc. This has always been a challenge with this one and I suppose one they face in the real world when SAMs are not right at the tip of a hill. I know there was an instruction to fly at 10k between certain earlier way points but when you go on a combat footing then you can fly what ever height you need to to get the job done. Hope this helps
  21. Thanks SMN. There was always an element of getting in the correct position on this one as it was easy to release too low and too far as the unit intentionally is not quite at the top of the hill. However as you have pointed out looks like things might have got a lot worse. I will look into it and do the necessary. Thanks again for picking this up.
  22. Maybe you wounded the aircraft but killed the pilot. Anyway onward and upward enjoy ????
  23. Hi, Yes you must not go south of the runway whilst doing the display. Can you explain exactly what you are doing and where you are when you get the fail and also the route you have taken to the air base. You need to come in via the designated way points. If you are short circuiting to the orbit point from the carrier you can be setting off a trigger in the area of the final turn over the sea too early which will activate the south zone too early.
  24. Hi Working on the follow up Campaign to SH2 based in the Gulf. "Rise of the Persian Lion" a 15 mission campaign. I have all the main roles taken but have a number of small parts that I need to fill. 1.0 Looking for voices for various local Air Traffic Control in the Gulf area so if you have or can produce an accent similar to that area of the world that would be ideal. 2.0 Also parts for F18 pilots. None of the parts are large so there won't be a lot of work required. If your interested please pm me Thanks (Badger 633)
