  1. In the Hornet Introduction video Wags posted on facebook he mentioned that the whole AIM-9 series will be modeled for the aircraft. So they might include the AIM-9P and P5 version.
  2. I guess it won't be higher than $79.99 maybe even $69.99 because there aren't that many people that would buy a module for more than $79.99 except a very few people that want to be nice to ED. Rather than willing to pay $99.99 for a single module, which would be to much money for DCS World & Hornet newcomers, buy the module a second time. For such a module that would reach a much wider audience than any other module except a few others it would be a pity if only a small percentage of those new interests would buy the module till a sale comes out.
  3. From the recent Weekend Newsletter.
  4. The Hornet gets a completely new 3d model so I expect a new template for it as well. If you look at the list Wags posted no RCAF skin was mentioned and there probably won't be one. So I'm sure skinners will take the chance and will create any skin that is left such as the Blue Angels, RCAF, RAAF or swiss air force skins which will probably one of the first ones you see on the User Files.
  5. The carrier crews will look even better when they launch the aircraft off the deck while the music runs in the background.
  6. A few cockpit screens from the recent past. Maybe you'll find a few small differences. From up (old) down to (new).
  7. Surely it may need some improvements but I think as a new addition to the terrain it's pretty nice to look at. Different stones with different sizes and better placements might be a thing to improve but I can imagine similar ground clutters on other maps too. And if those small stones reduce your perfomance an option to have them disabled might be a possible solution then.
  8. Yea the Tomahawks aren't mounted on the Hornet. But I wonder if it's possible to guide one of those missiles into another ship like it was demonstrated with a Super Hornet. I'm not sure if that's possible with the Tomahawk and Hornet we see in DCS. Or whether it works at all with the F/A-18C.
  9. Recently in the last few updates there were model changes made to some weapons and new weapons have ben added. For example: AGM-62, AGM-84A & H I believe, AGM-130 and Tomahawk missiles have been added to the sim or their models have been updated. I guess that some of these might be implemented with the F/A-18C.
  10. Once the Hornet is out and there isn't a Blue Angels skin included I'm sure there will be enough people that will create one and upload it to the User Files. It is probably going to be a competition between the skin makers themselves uploading the first Blue Angels skin.
  11. It's nice to see how many units get updated to the new lightning engine with each update.
  12. Well the focus to bring us to 2.5 or the merge is actually updating 1.5 on a regular basis as well. Not just the internal dev build but public updates too. If there is some kind of 1.5.X dev build version that will be merged with 2.X one day. That's at least how I understood it.
  13. I think 1.5 needs to be kept updated as well. Without 1.5 receving updates I think the merge of 2.0 and 1.5 wouldn't be possible then.
  14. Now that there might be chance for a CH-53 module is there also a higher chance now for an AI KC-130 tanker now? Would love to do AAR with the Stallion from a tanker. And regarding the different versions not all CH-53's were equiped with a refueling probe so I think, whether AI or Player controlled, we should get at least a CH-53E then, right?
  15. Newsletters are normally set for Fridays. Not Wednesdays.
  16. Why wouldn't there be much need for Nevada at this time? It's a great terrian, you have a lot of airfields and so on. The only downside is that they are testing improvements to the sim with 2.X. IIRC Nevada was designed mainly for the A-10C but with a few upcoming modules fitting to the map it's going to get even more interesting. At least for me. Surely it depends on what aircraft you want to fly in what time frame if you're aiming for a realistic setting.
  17. Indeed that detail and precision looks really great! Edit: Can't wait to see the pilot getting his marine corps textures.
  18. A few attached images show those black holes at two different locations. Everything is set on high here with flat terrain shadows. These are not shadows created by the sun, the sun is shining directly on those mountains.
  19. It appears to me as well and not only at a certain location. To me that bug can occur everywhere on the terrain/mountains. However I don't know how to directly force that visual bug to appear. Will try that now.
  20. Gorgeous to look at! Great work. :)
