  1. There still might appear issues with future updates to the aircraft and DCS World that affect the missions.
  2. I've read that adding the D version along the C doesn't reduce the time of development. It still requires a completely new exterior & interior 3d model, textures and a second re-coding of all the cockpit switches and instruments, including the back seat for mulitplayer purposes, various systems and more. Gathering all the information, data that is needed to implement the systems of the WSO also needs to be kept in mind.
  3. I guess to model the carriers accurately systems like these must be implemented. But that's another story about the carriers.
  4. On the third screen you can see the landing gear touching the carrier deck. I think it just looks like the aircraft is floating over the carrier from this angle.
  5. By now the text has been updated by Wags it states the addition of the PFM and adaptations that make the Su-33 carrier-capable.
  6. At the end it says that these new improvements are "for the use on crowded carrier decks". I think it's a typo mistake or I don't understand the meaning behind aircraft-capable.
  7. Post #49 dieses Threads. :)
  8. That doesn't mean anything. But we got a new update from ED about the Su-33 News of Su-33 for DCS World Currently in the Eagle Dynamics update hangar is our Su-33 for DCS World / Flaming Cliffs 3. This carrier-borne aircraft is in the final stages of receiving a big, FREE update that includes much improved flight dynamics and the addition of several new systems. This will bring our Su-33 much more aligned with its real-world counterpart. Features of this upcoming Su-33 update include: More detailed and accurate simulation of the wing control surfaces that include the leading and trailing edge flaps and the differential ailerons. In addition to the conventional differential stabilizers, canard behavior has also been improved for more realistic behavior. The Flight Control System (FCS) will automatically reconfigure itself depending on the flight mode. The adaptations that make the Su-33 aircraft-capable have been updated and improved to include the wing-fold mechanism, reinforced landing gear struts, and the inclusion of high-gain nose wheel steering for use on crowded carrier decks. The physical mechanisms by which the arrestor hook engages the aircraft carrier arrestor wire has been greatly improved. Correct physics have been applied to the arrestor wire and its’ interaction with the aircraft. The engines now have a “special mode” that adds up to 12,800 kg of thrust (instead of the normal 12,500 kg of thrust). This mode also includes realistic operating time restrictions. A new FCS mode used when aerial refueling has also been implemented. When in this mode and the control stick is released, the aircraft will automatically maintain level flight. This FCS mode allows fine-control and thus making it easier to make contact with the tanker within a pitch range of plus or minus 5 degrees and of a roll angle of plus or minus 10 degrees. The Auto-Thrust Control (ATC) is used for automatic speed holding and can be fine-tuned with a set speed switch. This can be useful with landing on the carrier. The automatic collision avoidance system (“Uvod” mode) is now included and allows safe nap-of-the-earth flying.

    F-16

I'd rather like to see something else than a western build aircraft so that we have something more competitive.
  10. Die elementarsten und wohl auch interessantesten Dinge für mich sind das fliegen und das landen auf einem Flugzeugträger. Danach die Waffen. Aber jedem das seine.
  11. In the Hornet Introduction video Wags posted on facebook he mentioned that the whole AIM-9 series will be modeled for the aircraft. So they might include the AIM-9P and P5 version.
  12. I guess it won't be higher than $79.99 maybe even $69.99 because there aren't that many people that would buy a module for more than $79.99 except a very few people that want to be nice to ED. Rather than willing to pay $99.99 for a single module, which would be to much money for DCS World & Hornet newcomers, buy the module a second time. For such a module that would reach a much wider audience than any other module except a few others it would be a pity if only a small percentage of those new interests would buy the module till a sale comes out.
  13. From the recent Weekend Newsletter.
  14. The Hornet gets a completely new 3d model so I expect a new template for it as well. If you look at the list Wags posted no RCAF skin was mentioned and there probably won't be one. So I'm sure skinners will take the chance and will create any skin that is left such as the Blue Angels, RCAF, RAAF or swiss air force skins which will probably one of the first ones you see on the User Files.
  15. The carrier crews will look even better when they launch the aircraft off the deck while the music runs in the background.
  16. A few cockpit screens from the recent past. Maybe you'll find a few small differences. From up (old) down to (new).
  17. Surely it may need some improvements but I think as a new addition to the terrain it's pretty nice to look at. Different stones with different sizes and better placements might be a thing to improve but I can imagine similar ground clutters on other maps too. And if those small stones reduce your perfomance an option to have them disabled might be a possible solution then.
  18. Yea the Tomahawks aren't mounted on the Hornet. But I wonder if it's possible to guide one of those missiles into another ship like it was demonstrated with a Super Hornet. I'm not sure if that's possible with the Tomahawk and Hornet we see in DCS. Or whether it works at all with the F/A-18C.
  19. Recently in the last few updates there were model changes made to some weapons and new weapons have ben added. For example: AGM-62, AGM-84A & H I believe, AGM-130 and Tomahawk missiles have been added to the sim or their models have been updated. I guess that some of these might be implemented with the F/A-18C.
  20. Once the Hornet is out and there isn't a Blue Angels skin included I'm sure there will be enough people that will create one and upload it to the User Files. It is probably going to be a competition between the skin makers themselves uploading the first Blue Angels skin.
  21. It's nice to see how many units get updated to the new lightning engine with each update.
