Hello Furiz, yes unfortunatelly I do have DCS currently uninstalled from my PC as I was forced to format it recently. The reason why I asked, is to have an idea of how certain basic features are in the F-16, before I go through all the hassle of installing / configuring / setting everything again.
-
Can anyone tell if the AIM-9 SPOT / SCAN function in the F-16 is implemented already ? Thank you.

Not finding it necessary to open a new thread, regarding the AIM-9 Modes and Functions in the F-16. Sometime has passed, is this solved ? Thank you.

F-14 A/B feature follow-up, wish list and beyond
Top Jockey replied to scommander2's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
+ 1 one here. It's one of the reasons why I haven't been buying modules for a good while. This sim is getting too much resource intensive, and therefore highly expen$ive which eventually will cause me moving away. Plus it only adds to the confusion of something that should be gameplay fluid. (I'm also still waiting for the option to remove the duct tape / wire / metal plate from the ACM panel.) -
That being, the AIM-54's line of sight on the rail is not even parallel to the aircraft's ADL. I knew this specific mode of employment was somewhat 'finicky'...
-
There was a thread around here (which I cannot locate right now), where I also posted about that very same issue 1 or 2 years ago. In most of the cases we've come to the conclusion, that the the AIM-54's FOV in that mode is very narrow, and so it is very 'finicky' regarding where your aiming. And there's also the possibility that the AIM-54's FOV is pointing somewhat below the ADL symbol... so you may have more luck pointing at the target with the "aircraft reticle" (pitch and roll symbol) at the HUD... or somewhere between the two symbols.

Yep, from the looks of it, I'm not seeing the EF-2000 coming this year either.
-
Agree. Would be outstanding if it really became available this year.

Hello, Taking the MiG-29A, its HMS and R-73 combo as example. Does anyone know, how does the R-73 missile seeker head aim / follow the pilot HMS LoS (line of sight) to the target ? I mean, keeping in mind that either the HMS and missile seeker head are both in different spatial positions... their LoS to the target will also be different, so : - does the missile's seeker head aims in a parallel LoS with the HMS ? - or does the missile's seeker head aims in a convergent LoS with the HMS ? If they aim in a convergent LoS with each other (converging on target), then there must be also a distance (range to target) measuring... is this the job of the "OLS" IRST with its laser range-finder ? If this is the case ( IRST laser range measuring ), how does the IRST follows the HMS LoS - parallel or convergent following ? Thank you.

@ESAc_flankercobra This is what I was refering to :

Just yesterday, I've read somewhere in one of these threads that the Fulcrum is scheduled to be available somewhere this year.

By chance... any pics of the Shchel-3UM Helmet Mounted Sight monocle view - from pilot's perspective, already ? Thank you.

MiG-29's BFM characteristics / doubts

Regarding the sentence in bold : Between F-16C, F/A-18C and Mirage 2000C, is there one you consider the clearly superior dogfighter ? -

... well, everything I've bought from ED was based on those assumptions in bold. ( Except, Flanker 2.0, LOMAC and DCS: BlackShark - as these came in CD or DVD of course. ) In other words, I've bought the products under the assumption that, the possibility of using the product I've bought is permanent. -
As much as I regret to admit it... Given the current state of affairs, anything remotely related to a Mirage III for DCS seems to be in for a long wait. Sad, as I really was looking into one day fly the the Mirage IIIEA in DCS.

Where is it ? Thank you. -
The same here. I might eventually buy the Falklands scenario, but only when we have the Sea Harrier FRS.1 and the Mirage IIIEA.
-
I support the idea, especially today as we don't know if / when the other MiG-23 will ever arrive.
-
Hello Volator, thank you for the insight. Well... I wasn't expecting things to be THAT bad, and sad as it might look, it seems it may go that way (although I hope not). For much that I appreciate the MiG-23, let's see waht the future brings then.
-
So, given the current state of affairs ... Does anyone have any insight of what is the predicted future for the MiG-23 ? ( Is the project to be forgotten, will it be on stand-by indefinitely or will it continue developing to an eventual release ? ) Thank you
