  1. The Kiowa has a missile warning system by default, correct? Then what is the an/alq-144 addon, and is it better or worse than the default ssytem?
  2. I noticed the whole cockpit was heavily vibrating while just sitting on the ground with the master switch on. Assume this isn't realistic? Anyone else noticed this?
  3. Anyone know if the autopilot modes have been fixed yet?
  4. i like your "yet"
  5. isn't crashing for me, but explosions look like red lego bricks going everywhere. bummer, this was a great mod. anyone know of any alternatives?
  6. I just noticed on the official DCS launcher video there are high-fidelity Corsairs and was taken aback. These aren't actually in the sim, are they? null
  7. Remastered bird + diffuse lighting + new fog effects =
  8. aaaaand the remaster is fabulous. the detail is stunning inside and out. props! nullnull
  9. yup. i had to quit and restart DCS 5 times and then it finally popped up. the first 4 times it just went right into the module manager and skipped the downloader. weird.
  10. yeah that's it, I didn't realize you had to purchase it, I thought it was a free update. whoops. just went and bought it now
  11. When I click the 'module manager' button on the main screen, the 'install modules' popup does not appear (as shown in screenshot). It just goes to the module manager. how do you get the 'install modules' popup to appear? null
  12. thanks, this is what I was looking for. I checked and I indeed don't have the remastered version. How do you get it? I don't see a way to download it on the module pop-up?
  13. are people saying this mod breaks the latest update?
  14. so there's not a way to see in the main menu or module options if it's installed? or a version number? i can't really tell if the model's quality is better since i haven't flown her in a while.
  15. I updated DCS but never explicitly updated the F-5. How can I tell in the sim if the remastered version is installed or not?
  16. interesting. i'm working with an old MS FFB 2 playing in a campaign (Lebanon) and I don't think there's unlimited ammo, but now I'm not completely sure
  17. The force feedback in the Huey works well. However I thought I had remembered that there was vibration feedback upon firing the cannon or rockets (as there would in real life). However I noticed today there is no vibration or movement at all while firing the large cannons and rockets. Is it like this with anyone else? Maybe there never was any added sensation, but I feel like there was at some point maybe? Would be very immersive if so.
  18. thanks mate. will check these out do you have 1 save where all bases are populated?
  19. just ran into this glaring issue with the Huey in the new campaign UN Peacekeeper. One mission is pouring rain and you can't see a damn thing null
  20. I'm used to it at this point, feel like I'm changing PCs every year! Can't count how many times I've had to reload all my configs. When I fly a particular module, I just go into the control config in the sim and load the keyboard, joystick, and throttle. It only takes 30 seconds or so, the trick is to know which config file to load as there are many spread over many different folders in both SavedGames and the main DCSOpenBeta folder. It gets confusing! i thought so too, but my latest keyboard mappings weren't saved in the CH-47F folder in the config directory. not sure where they are saved. then there's the InputUserProfiles profiles which also have keybindings.
  21. When firing up engine 1 by holding start switch left, the sounds begin of the turbine spooling up, however if you just let go of the switch, then engine immediatly spools down, but the sounds continue to spool up as if the engine is continuing the start.
  22. Was Util Pres light fixed in an update? it's one of the first things to check on the checklist but it wasn't working
  23. I just got a new PC and installed DCS on it. I have backed up a lot of settings and stuff from my old DCS install. However I can't figure out where all the keybinds were saved. Are they: C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\InputUserProfiles Or somewhere else? I want to load them all back in to my sim. I know I have to do this one by one, so just need to know where to look.
  24. back after a hiatus. which features do you mean?
  25. i totally agree with you. a LOT of sounds are muted when using modern noise-cancelling devices, so much so that it can sound pretty boring irl. most of us do not want that in our shooty simulator. we want lots of loud and exciting noises in order to replicate what it must feel like in the cockpit. this is a sim-game after all and we're missing a lot of haptic and g feedbacks. these need to be made up for in the bass-y sounds.
