  1. Is this mod still being worked on or is it done?
  2. Is the alarm supposed to be on during the full descent?
  3. is it any more unnerving than having your wings blown off and thrown into a full on death spiral into the side of a mountain? i say bring it on, its bar-b-que time
  4. ok good to know. guess this can be a wishlist item then
  5. gotcha, at least this proves my theory. I've never had to change any curves with any of the other modules so this was the first time I've encountered it. Time to remove all the curves
  6. I wonder if it has anything to do with my curves. I have it set pretty off-default to try and mitigate the twitchiness. Only other thing I could think of that's different besides FFB. Do devs every check these forums? I wonder if they could chime in as this is a pretty big issue for me atm
  7. this definitely feels off. when i lower flaps on base the plane pitches up so hard that I have to trim it literally all the way down for it to want to bring the nose down enough to descend. it reallllly wanted to keep ascending and i let it go for a while and it flew itself all the way down <80mph before she lowered her nose. it was actually pretty impressive how slow she flew. but not good for landing. in the screenshot you can see full forward trim and flaps down and I'm still pressing forward to get a decent descent. anyone else come across this way?
  8. Do all field have a windsock? Are they in logical locations or do you have to hunt for them? For example I'm at Biggin Hill field in winter and I can't find a windsock from 1500' up
  9. I'm wondering if DCS models cockpit fires after being hit? In player or AI? I know there's a new damage model with WW2 so was hoping if you got a lucky hit you'd see a fire break out in the enemy's cockpit and overwhelm the pilot. Or if it happens to you you'd have to use your technique to put it out before the smoke killed you. Fun mechanic! Is this in the sim at the momenr?
  10. quick q: when approaching a dogfight what should you set your RPM? Full forward? Does it matter what altitude you're at?
  11. Quick q: is this undercarriage texture highlighted correct? Looks like the missing texture camo a little bit
  12. no clue! I don't have ffb rudder pedals so couldn't test your theory.
  13. What trim settings are other people using for straight and level?
  14. I did some more experimenting and it does indeed seem to be temperature related. I was doing a winter mission and had the OAT at like -10 (which isn't that cold to be honest that's a typical winter day here in the US) but I then raised the OAT slightly to like -4 and it was able to start ok. So the good news is it does seem the temp does indeed have a serious impact on engine stuff. Bad news is not sure there's a way around it at the moment if you're doing winter missions.
  15. Has anyone else never gotten the autostart to not work? It goes through the checklist and runs the starter, and the engine kicked around a couple times but then never catches and it stops spinning. It then says autostart complete. Are there certain conditions where it won't work no matter what? I do have the OAT below freezing but that shouldn't matter
  16. I seem to need to have the pitch trim almost full forward to maintain stick-neutral level flight (FFB). Is this correct?
  17. During taxi takeoff tutorial there are several typos. I've highlighted a couple here:
  18. During the tutorial your handy copilot gunner person helps you go through the startup checklist. How can you get this fun feature in a regular flight?
  19. I have not, however I thought I had found it in the file .../Config/World/World.lua as it has burn times for many different vehicles as well as airplane crash burn time...however I have adjusted all of these but don't really see a noticeable difference. Was hoping someone in the DCS modding community would be able to point in the right direction to help explain what the variables mean...
  20. sweet thanks
  21. i hadn't even noticed they were spinning the same way, i just assumed twins always had counter-rotation. i've gotten the pitch trim ok for now, just have to fiddle with it often. i've been softening the pitch curves quire a bit and it's made it more manageable for now. def a learning curve
  22. sexy af
  23. what are the numbers?
  24. i noticed if you press '2' and fly from the right seat then you can use the v/s just fine. good for bad weather
  25. What do other people have their pitch axis tuned to? I currently have: Saturation Y: 75 Curvature: 15 And it still feels pretty twitchy.
