ADMIRAL189'S CORNER - INCOMING SHIP MODELS
dresoccer4 replied to Admiral189's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
here's a fantastic 9-episode series on a whole 7 month patrol in the life of Duncan. very well done -
I'm having trouble with my TPOD video feed recently. Check out the below screenshots. I'm only 2nm from a massive ship which I can clearly see with my eyeballs. However the TPOD CCD image is unusable. I've twised the brightness and contrast all around but the screenshot below is the best image I could get . Any tips? Here's what it looks like with flir

Is there a way to set a Uh-1h FM homing beacon on a ship to help find it out at sea?

ADMIRAL189'S CORNER - INCOMING SHIP MODELS

HMS Duncan is brilliant! i just watched a documentary on her so was a real treat to get to land helicopters on her in DCS. My only suggestion for this would be to add a screenshot in your main list so we can know what the different ships are -
thanks. but hmm this sounds like a bug

Is there something wrong with the radar elevation? After I take off and turn on radar (air or ground) the elevation immediately goes to the very top and won't budge. I have elevation up and elevation down assigned to two keys on my HOTAS, not any axis.
-
thanks that is indeed a work around. i was more trying to ascertain if there were any western subs in the sim that I was possibly missing
-
Are there any blue-side submarines in the mission editor?
-
How do you choose a starting area for a helicopter on the Tarawa? No matter what posiiton (1-4) I choose I get put near the front. I want to manually choose my initial placement on carriers. Is there a way to do this?

hey there. know if there's any update on the rudder trimmer getting fixed to be like the Mi-8? Or if not, if there's any work around that can get the rudder to trim?

EDIT: nevermind i see the page is supposed to be like that while the TPOD is active. confusing

So I'm following along with the Grim Reapers video on how to use the new laser mav L but can't get it to work. i open stores page and click LMV2, but the page doesn't change like it's supposed to. it just stays basically the same, as shown in the screenshot. according to grim reapers, it's supposed to switch to laser targeting mode and warm up. anyone know whats up?
-
Guys I'm trying to follow along chuck's guide but I cannot get my IRMAV to slave to my TPOD target. i'm following this flow chart exactly. i lock up target with tpod, press ss_down twice to lock coords in INS mode. uncage mav, but the mav seeker does not slew to the target, it just stays looking boresighted... anyone else able to follow this flow chart and get it to work?

Hey - I'm wondering if anyone knows if an automatic takeover control of the pilot position is in the works for when you switch to the radio/bomber position? The Huey and the Hind offer this feature and it's really good for simulating a 2-person team. I'm hoping they'd implement this to at least hold the plane straight and level while you're in the right seat messing with radios and weapon configs. Anyone know if DCS is working on implementing this? This seems much more realistic

yeah it's really confusing. though now i see it's not looking at the entire number just the first. but then there are sill many numbers missing as well

So I'm trying to load up some F16 lessons and sorting by filename but the order is all over the place and I also don't even see a Lesson 1 (let alone 7-10) Any way we can see the lessons in actual order to keep track since there's so many?
-
the mystery here was just the date discrepancy so it was unknown when the actual last update was. love your work it's made DCS so much more accessible to the masses, good job

throwing my 2c in here too. I also have a FFB2 and have found the Mossie almost unflyable. The trim is completey whack and behavior at high speed is a death trap. I didn't know about this thread a couple days ago and had made a new one
-
I'm having a hard time trimming this Mossie with my FFB joystick. Anyone else encountering some anomalies? For example, to keep her straight and level with full bomb loadout I have to have her trimmed at like -4 nose down. However if I go just slightly more than that then she falls into a dive. If I move slightly back she climbs into a stall.

as I said before, the viper stick isn't limp. its centered with specific forces acting on it. the goal is to have these forces replicated on a ffb stick, because there has to be forces on it, that's the nature of a ffb stick. there were issues a long time ago with the x and y axis having odd resistances. if you don't have a ffb stick then you won't really understand this thread
-
the viper stick isn't limp, it has forces acting on it as it has some deflection, thus those need to be translated onto ffb sticks as realistically as able. there were issues with this a while back
-
Hey guys - anyone with a FFB joystick think the force feedback is solid now with the latest F-16c updates? I haven't flown it in a while so wanted to get some opinions.

F-16 Conformal fuel tank

interesting! yeah this describes basically what I just found out through trail and error. Here's hoping someone will come up with a solution -
F-16 Conformal fuel tank

Found it: CFT_Mod_2.0.1 (digitalcombatsimulator.com) However unfortunetly it looks like it's purely aesthetical as you can't access the under-wing hard points if using the conformal tanks, thus sort of defeating the purpose of having them. Still look cool though!
