  1. Is there any way to have the Jester menu directional controls be assigned to an axis? I am trying to use the mouse nipple on my X-55 but currently only buttons are assignable.
  2. Is it just me or does the resolution of the mirrors seem low? On my end, my mirrors are not as high resolution as what I have seen in other videos. Is there a specific graphics setting that I am missing?
  3. Wow, that was awesome!!! Happy Tomcat Day everyone! Congratulations and thank you Heatblur! This will be the greatest day in flightsim history!!
  4. Congratulations, job well done, and thank you so much to all involved who helped bring the Tomcat to DCS! Anytime, Baby...!
  5. Great news Jabbers! Thank you! Keep up the amazing work! How about landing...at least land based?
  6. Wow, great job Heatblur! You guys are really exceeding expectations and setting a new standard for DCS and all of flightsim...the Tomcat deserves nothing less. Anytime, Baby...!
  7. +1 I consider the A-6/KA-6 and Forrestal class carriers to be integral to the whole Tomcat and naval aviation experience in DCS.
  8. Ahh, yes...didn't even think about that! I will let someone much more informed than me try to figure that out. I imagine the weights in the loadout screen of the mission editor will include all of this and all we will have to do then is account for the missile weights if expended to a calculate landing fuel.
  9. Great stuff Victory205! Thanks! With those numbers, I have calculated the following based on a loadout of AIM-9 x2, AIM-7 x2, AIM-54 x2, and external tanks x2: Empty Weight: 41,780 lbs + AIM-9 x2 (400 lbs) AIM-7 x2 (1,000 lbs) AIM-54 x2 (2,000 lbs) Drop tanks x2 (500 lbs) = 45,680 lbs Max Trap Weight: 54,000 lbs - Loaded Weight 45,680 lbs = Fuel 8,320 lbs From this, you can subtract expended ordinance to adjust your fuel on landing.
  10. Yes!!! Finally!!! Anytime, Baby...! Thank you Heatblur!!!
  11. Great work Heatblur and Jabbers and thank you! That landing shot at the end...incredible!!!
  12. Wow! Great stuff Jabbers and thank you!!! Anytime, Baby...!
  13. Will we see takeoff, landing, and basic flight procedures/tutorials added to the manual by the time the Tomcat releases? The Tomcat manual is great, however; as of right now, there is nothing really telling us how to actually fly it.
  14. Thank you Wags for clearing things up! To Heatblur/Cobra...Why couldn't you offer us this insight about ED requiring at least a week for review? You mentioned "We hope this will happen within the next few days" in the OP of this thread over a week ago. It seems that there is a large variance in the Heablur and ED time frames. And then we get a post saying that Cobra is frustrated...which leads to more wild speculation and worry.
  15. What if ED doesn't initially approve the Tomcat and sends it back to Heatblur for fixes? That will take some time and then go back to ED for another review. It is what happened to RAZBAM and the MiG-19. Time is running out and as we all know with DCS, things happen to cause delays. That March 20 deadline doesn't look so far away anymore....but this is the consequence of waiting to the last bit of a release window. Hopefully the Tomcat gets initial approval and release goes smoothly but a lot can go wrong. Cobra being frustrated is what has me the most worried...
  16. VF-103 flew the F-14B...VF-1, VF-213, VF-41, VF-111, and VF-31 did not. Why include those squadrons instead of one that did fly the F-14B? You could have included the other squadron t-shirts when the A gets released. Just doesn't make sense.
  17. Yep, we have known for a little over a week now that the release candidate is in ED's hands and waiting for final approval...but there seems to be of a bit of a snag, and I don't know what the hold up to this is..."Also in the coming days, we’ll be going through what to expect from the F-14 Early Access, what our roadmap is for it’s final release (-A, Campaigns, other missing features, etc.) and projected timescales." Good point...March 20 is Spring...the Tomcat release has to be before that...
  18. Yes, while we are waiting and only 3 weeks max from release...where are the RIO videos or the takeoff, landing, and standard flight procedures/tutorials....?
  19. I am looking forward to the M61A1 Vulcan in the Tomcat....let's get back on track and talk about this! :pilotfly::gun_rifle:
  20. You are approaching 23,000 posts on these forums...a lot of which has offered us valuable help and information...but this...this sir, may be your finest post yet
  21. Maybe he is travelling to Sweden to meet with Heatblur...
  22. Wow, great deal indeed! It made me do some thinking for sure... However, I have been contemplating an upgrade to the Warthog from my X-55 but I have ultimately decided not to. I will be flying the Tomcat and have mixed feelings about using a HOTAS modeled specifically for a single aircraft. Also, the Warthog has been out for a long time and I would feel more comfortable with an investment like that on something newer, so I am waiting to see what Thrustmaster's next release is...whenever that may be. Congrats for those who got a great deal though!
  23. No, I have no way of 3D printing, just wanted to see what it looked like. Thanks Sandman! Looks to be a great addition, especially the AB detent. That really increases the value of the X-55/56. Now where/how would I go about getting these made? I don't have access to a 3D printer. Do you guys think the X-56 is a worthwhile upgrade over the X-55 or should I just keep using the X-55?
  24. Fair enough and understandable. I know you want to reach the most people possible. I would have thought the ED DCS forums was the biggest DCS community though. Good luck to you and the rest of Heatblur in the coming weeks and thank you for the Tomcat! Anytime, Baby...!
  25. I don't understand why Hoggit is used for communication at all. These are the official forums. It just adds to the confusion and spread of misinformation.
