  1. I agree, the cockpit sounds are incredible and serve to add to the immersion and overall awareness. It makes up for the loss of other senses we lose with this being a desktop simulator and not being in an actual cockpit. The external sounds may need some improvement and the change in sound with canopy open/closed needs to be fixed but overall, amazing work!
  2. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3854983&postcount=75 Within Visual Range
  3. I made a post earlier today describing the same... https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3857128&postcount=1 The behavior does not seem correct and is not what the manual describes.
  4. Same here...
  5. Same here...no crashes until the update today.
  6. I have noticed a possible bug where the autopilot is not disengaging properly. When I set the autopilot altitude switch and autopilot engage switches to off, the attitude hold remains on. Is this correct? The only way to completely disengage the autopilot is to depress the autopilot emergency disengagement paddle. When I do this, it properly resets all autopilot switches to off and the attitude hold is no longer present, however; it also turns off the pitch and roll SAS. Is this correct? The manual states: "If the autopilot emergency disengage switch paddle on the control stick is held down, the pitch and roll channels will be set to off" "All autopilot modes can be overridden by enough force on the control stick or by depression of the autopilot emergency disengagement paddle, automatically resetting all autopilot switches to off" From what the manual states, it seems that a quick depression of the autopilot emergency disengage paddle with turn all autopilot switches to off while keeping all SAS switches on. The SAS pitch and roll will only be turned off if the autopilot emergency disengage paddle is held down. I am not seeing this happen though.
  7. I don't think they are implemented yet or maybe it's a bug. I cannot get chocks via the radio menu on the ramp or carrier prior to starting up or after shutdown
  8. Attitude hold is engaged by just switching the autopilot engage switch to on...no need to depress the NWS button. NWS button is used to engage the three autopilot modes as selected.
  9. I noticed this as well...the HB checklist says the same. It doesn't make sense to me though because when you set the autopilot engage switch to on, it engages the attitude hold. With it on in normal flight, you would be constantly fighting the autopilot.
  10. Hmm, interesting. Nothing was mentioned in the change log about FM adjustments. I won't be able to fly with the new patch until Monday but now I really can't wait to try it out!
  11. I have read the manual and watched Jabbers tutorial video on pilot ACM radar aquisition modes. I have a very basic understanding of how to operate these modes, however; I don't know when to use them. It looks like all of these modes have a range of 5nm or so which means they are used for WVR air combat/dogfighting. My question is, in which scenario or position would each of these modes be best utilized?
  12. My apologies for the confusion...I was using the wrong terminology. I did end up finding what I was looking for with the recovery procedures. Thanks for the help!
  13. Disregard.. I found the charts for STRYK, ACTON, ARCOE, MINTT, and ALAMO recoveries witch provide VFR approach info into runway 21.
  14. Thank you...yes, I have seen those. What I am looking for is how a visual approach into 21 is done.
  15. I have seen that runway 3L is the standard departure runway and 21L is the arrival runway at Nellis. I have only seen instrument approach charts for runway 21...is there a VFR arrival procedure? I have only seen the Sin City arrival which is for runway 3R/L.
  16. Okay, thank for clearing that up...the 676 was a mistake as the third digit always stays on 0. FYI...the M61 section of the manual still has a screenshot showing 676. Also, the manual says that the indicator counts down from 650...what does that mean?
  17. Thanks...that makes sense. I just wanted to make sure so that my bank angle on the approach turn was correct. Ha! That's great stuff! Another story to add to the legend of the Tomcat. Hopefully Heatblur's artist wasn't as drunk...
  18. In what degree increments are the lines of the bank angle indicator at the bottom of the VDI? I cannot seem to find any info. Thanks!!
  19. Great test and interesting results! If you are in the mood for further testing, maybe you can do this... Full afterburner takeoff at Nellis and record speeds at the end of runway. Clean, full fuel, standard day...the tricky part will be rotating, immediately retracting gear/flaps, and leveling off right above runway.
  20. +1 I am all for HB adding this afterburner detent as an option. While the sound of the throttles hitting the detents are amazing and have so far worked for me, I do have to make an effort to make sure I am listening for it and like others, I have to do a bit of wiggling at times to get it just right.
  21. When doing a cold start, we have to set the Gun Rounds Counter. The Tomcat hold 676 rounds but I cannot set it to that, only 670 or 680 as the third digit is not changeable. Is this how it really is? On a hot start, the counter will read 676 so there must be a way to set it exactly.
  22. Whoa! Great shot! Very fitting image for what is indeed incredible work by Heatblur.
  23. Wow backspace, impressive flying! Thanks for the video! What were your control inputs (stick, rudder) like during the maneuvering?
  24. Thanks for the quick reply Cobra! If the weight difference does not show up in the ME, how do we go about calculating max trap weights?
  25. I noticed that removing the weapon rails for the AIM-54 on stations 4 and 5 did not change the weight. They were removed from the aircraft when looking at the exterior view but the aircraft weight stayed the same as it was with them attached.
