  1. per subject, please create an axis for the TDC. There is one currently, but seems auto assigned to mouse. That one could probably be re-purposed. EDIT: NM, duh. Found it.
  2. @BIGNEWY: any updates on thie? we are running latest open beta and still note this issue. Thx!
  3. I can confirm the same with X vs. Y channel for tankers. When set to a Y channel, we get no distance information. Multiple modules: F/A-18, Mirage 2000, AV-8B NA. Is Y channel no distance a confirmed issue? EDIT: sorry all - see here (confirmed and reported): https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=251873&page=2
  4. it will if you follow the instructions for persistence in the file download link. but the current mission (the one active at shutdown) will reset to a random mission. there is a small chance it would be the same mission, but not likely. so the things destroyed will get destroyed again upon mission restart, but the mission itself (objective) will reset.
  5. @VirusAM, sorry I do not have any other ideas. These missions work quite well for our group, including persistence.
  6. I have created a mission for our group to practice traps. I have 3 sets of birds airborne and on approach from behind the carrier at different distances. The guys want to have the option for quick practice all the way to full recovery procedures. None of the aircraft are AI, all are client so will only be occupied is a player selects the slot. The 6-8 mile aircraft consist of two groups, one F-14B and two F/A-18C's. They are at 800' and 350 knots. The 20 mile aircraft consist of two groups, one F-14B and two F/A-18C's. They are at 1500' and 350 knots. The 50 mile aircraft consist of two groups, one F-14B and two F/A-18C's. They are at 10000' and 400 knots. All is good except for the aircraft at 6-8 miles out. When someone spawns in them they end up being at 26 miles out from the carrier instead of 6-8 miles out. Is this a bug, or due to forcing proper recover procedures and requiring a call inbound at a decent distance from the carrier? Thank you for feedback.
  7. yah - you kinda gotta wait until is is completely ready to respawn before you can reselect the same slot.
  8. Our group agrees that Surrexen's persistent missions are awesome. If we have not said it enough, thank you sir! @flyingj23: We do not have any issues when reloading these missions and have been playing them for at least two months now. you just need to ensure you have the mission script modified properly. maybe it would be worth validating your install (you can find how to do that with a search). and yes, the ESC key is your friend here. ;)
  9. Well, there it is. :D I was trying to be a bit more subtle, but perhaps we are beyond that.
  10. yah, yah. just hopeful that Razbam would follow up/through. in the interim I will see about enjoying it the way it is and maybe look to other developers aircraft for anything new (just what I will do, not trying to be overly harsh, etc.). Really I am just glad to have such a sim, but one can always hope for better.
  11. sure, but we are to rely upon 3rd party or out of date information in the interim. do not get me wrong, i like the Harrier a LOT (it would not be useable without Chuck's guide, i hope he receives some compensation!), but as pointed out the bug fixes and work to complete the module are seemingly non-existent or at glacial pace as someone else put it. it seems that more focus is on new product (at least three announced and in progress, yes?) and revenue streams rather than finishing what is out there first. how long has the M2000 and Harrier been in the sim? i do understand the simulation of a combat fighter is not necessarily simple, but...some up to date and continuous (how about monthly?) project status and roadmap would be great. certainly there is a project plan where this information could be pulled from.
  12. Also is the official manual not missing? There is the pocket guide, and of course Chuck's guide (which razbam hosts asn the manual it seems), but no official module manual?
  13. Agreed, I would also prefer more "red" jets.
  14. i have not had issues hitting pre-planned vehicles. i just ensure i am zoomed in all the way on f10 map and that i have the marker centered on the coordinates. but yes, multiples would most likely ensure the kill. too bad the Harrier did not carry the larger GPS guided bombs, they would be useful when our group's F/A-18 pilots wiff on bunkers. :D
  15. nice! i believe that is the system, not DCS. i believe it is simulated properly.
  16. you have to assign the same target from the CAS page to multiple target points. assign the target to T1 (example) as usual, then go back to the CAS page, hit use again, then assign it to T2, rinse and repeat until you have the same target from the CAS page assigned to 4 target points. Then when you select the targets to drop against when you select the J82, select all those target points you programmed (T1, T2, et al). Hope this helps and works for you.
  17. for our group, we did edit the mission and set them to weapons free. a couple of our guys really did not like the fact that they could get followed all the way to the surface group and get tagged in the pattern.
  18. I had same issue as OP. with such detailed version numbers it just does not seem proper to have something change within the same version number at all. How does one do configuration management in this case? @Madcat, mine started just fine after the update from the current version to the same version... :music_whistling:
  19. @Badass, Surrexen can answer that more definitively, but I am sure that both versions of the missions will use the same files, therefore doing as you surmised. You could probably go into each mission and edit the file name they get saved (and conversely loaded, i.e. look for the reading/loading as well as the saving) as to make them separate.
  20. negative, wprks fine for our group on dedicated server. we have anywhere from 2-5 people on at the same time.
  21. sent you a PM. make sure you do call out all the support to go after your target. even sead and cas help take down red flights, or at least distract the red flights.
  22. Yes, it can be done. You will have to dig in the air defense lua script and change some things. Are you comfortable with that?
  23. yah - we usually end up calling out all the support. we found the anti-ship guys generally get shot down fairly quickly, and so do their missiles. we have sent in 8 harpoons at the same time - sometimes none get through.
  24. likely the missionscripting.lua is not edited per the instructions. see the download page. if you did edit it in the past and had an update, it will get overwritten and you need to do the edit again. you also need to ensure the user that the game is running under has permission to write into the folder hierarchy containing that file.
