What's the reason of missing afterburner visual effect?
Ala12Rv-watermanpc replied to Sonoda Umi's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Mine looks correctly, how is it possible I haven't had this issue?...odd. -
I dont think so...the reason I asked for higher res textures is for capturing small details like rivets, screws, bolts, panel lines, tinny text, dirt, etc. which are lacking in the hornet...most rivets look like dark "dots" instead of the actual thing or most of the text which is not readable. The tomcat has a nice balance in terms of texture size/number of files and performance so I would like to have this for my beloved Falcon.

I also think that model of the pilot is clearly smaller than it should...same in the hornet. The JHMCS should be much bigger and the picture you posted irl is wearing a much smaller helmet yet it looks pretty much the same size the jhmcs in dcs. Also, the pilot model in dcs is too thin, it looks like a kid. I agree is time for a proper and detailed pilot model like the ones in the viggen or tomat. Look at the shoulders, chest, helmet, etc: There should be much more volume and size imho, in the f16 the pilots look "constrained" due to the small size of the cockpit.

Wow!!!!!! :notworthy: Absolutelly AMAZING work PorcoRosso:thumbup::thumbup: Seriously, everything in this skin is a top notch work, love your style of weathering... beautiful skin choice also, thanks a ton for your effort!!!:)

Since the launch of the hornet I noticed that few bolts/screws over the dashboard of the Hornet are missing in the cockpit 3d model...I havent seen a single picture/video of any hornet where they are not there so I guess is not a version thing...I would like tem to be added as they are quite noticeable and are always at sight...Im talking about this: maybe not a priority but I wanted to know if they should be there and if so, I dont know how this was ignored and would like to have them modelled at some point. thanks!

what you mean that is not the common version of the beta??...I don't have any special "case X" options anywhere though I can hear a couple of new comms...is there something Im missing??
-
yeah, a lot of sounds and details are missing. Also, at the moment, the difference between idle and mil/full power (I think greatly related to what you are talking about) is pretty much none in both intensity (volume) and differentiability. There should be a HUGE difference in volume AND differentiability from idle to higher power states of the engines. Also, something that worked years ago is lacking since a long time now...the distance effect in the sound...even a great distances, the changes in sounds are reflected almost instantly when there should be a proper LAG between power changes and the arrival of these sounds to the external viewer according to the distance. Is like the sound travels at light speed in DCS instead of sound speed. The fade of the different samples playing depending on the aircrafts aspect is also very poor and should have a transient with long fade between them, now they just change almost instantly which makes the sound very odd in many situations, like the sound is cutting abruptly between samples.

FA-18C Cockpit Cosmetic Pack
Ala12Rv-watermanpc replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Simply use JSGME.:) -
Not sure if you are talking about some specific kind of vibration but if not you are wrong: This is what Im asking for! I think ED should also include this physics into all modules (at least the full fidelity ones)
-
NO!, as I said in the first post, this is happening without ANY mod (even removed the mods under the "tech" folder)...my mod only makes it a bit more evident...The first and last screens are using vanilla textures. once again, even Matt Wagner is experiencing this issue in the videos...I cant believe everyone seems to ignore that :huh::huh: In his last video it is also clearly there when the sun is at the correct angle. I have tested in all 4 maps and it is happening in all of them... to make the effect very visible the sun must directly impact in the screens slightly from avobe (if you see the specular then there is when the dark circle is most visible) Added track+log files. hornet screens issue.trk dcs_log.rar

FA-18C Cockpit Cosmetic Pack
Ala12Rv-watermanpc replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
No, my mod is not the issue, it only make it slightly more evident. -
Yeah, I always refresh those folders in every update...I dont think it is a problem in my end as, as said before, even in last wags videos you can see this issue...the circles are particulary visible when the sun is directly casting light on them and the size of the "circle" varies according to the angle of the light. In this video by Waggs, it is also happening just the light is not at the best angle to make the issue as strong as in the images I posted. No clue what could be causing this.

FA-18C Cockpit Cosmetic Pack

Glad to read that!;) As Texac said this is just a texture mod, it moddifies few files and adds some new ones. -
Cockpit reflections
Ala12Rv-watermanpc replied to Talonx1's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hi guys!, just read a few days ago this thread and decided to update the pack with an effect similar to the one in the Tomcat as you talked about in the first post. Hope you like it! https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=219909 Bye! -
FA-18C Cockpit Cosmetic Pack
Ala12Rv-watermanpc replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Just updated the pack with a little addition: -New weathered effect in the canopy glass, similar to the one in the F-14 Tomcat as I really LOVE that effect in the F-14 :) Hope you like it!! -
I have been out for a few weeks now... after updating dcs found in the Hornet that the DDI's screens have an odd circle effect. Also the analog gauges glass look very dark depending of the position with respect to the sun. I can see this even happening to Matt Wagner in his latest videos. I haven't seen it reported. No mods installed. Screens: Edit with track+dcs_log+dxdiag in post 15 Thanks!
-
Agree :) ...especially when the tomcat already has this implemented. Hope Ed is finally willing to include this great effect!
-
Thanks Texac! ;) I will take a look at them when Im back at home :)

Anyone knows where are located the textures of these clouds??? I cant find them. Thanks
-
As far as I know the hornet does not have, in dcs, any kind of oscillation in the wings nor vertical fins (only flexion)...but would be great to have it implemented in the hornet too(it is even more noticeable in the f18 ) The video you posted looks like a resonance to me...Im refering to a more common buffeting induced surfaces oscillation, I guess more related with own turbulent air flowing through them. Only the tomcat has this implemented, again afaik.
-
Just that, I would love to have this effect for the Falcon, something like the one in the HB's Tomcat...the f16 also has lots of vibrations when flying fast, low, buffeting, dropping bombs, etc. I think this should be implemented in all modules but specially in the newer ones along with the proper wing flex. It adds a huge boost to inmersion and realism and is a quite useful sign of the energy state of the plane among other things. Here is a nice example of it in a 360 deg camera: Another one: Thanks!
