Hi, just wanted to know if this is normal (I don't think so)...when at high speed (500+knots) and wing sweep full aft (manual or auto) when I roll at full lateral stick deflection, the plane starts to make odd roll oscillations and I can see the horizontal stabs moving up and down very hard even when I am not doing such movements...is there some issue with the AFCS?? I dont think this should be happening. I posted a track with the issue though, Im not sure it will work correctly as the tracks with the Tomcat are broken at the moment but here it is...note how doing RCtrl+Enter you can see the stick is steady at full deflection and these oscillations appear even then. thanks! f14 roll stutter.trk

Just wonder where (if there are ones) are the IR night vision strobes/external lighting in this hornet's version?...something that makes extremely visible your/others plane when in nigh operations while at the same time is not visible to the naked eye (IR). For instance, look how clear these strobes flash in this video: Not sure if these are IR strobes (just posted the video for having an example of what I mean) but is my understanding that there should be some kind of IR external lighting. All the external lights I know at the moment are visible in the naked eye spectrum and thus not suitable for nigh ops. thanks!

any info about the TCS's nomal map not working HB?...also not sure if I explained myself correctly, but the syntax error for the roughmet map is in the default files not in my editing that's why I called it a "bug" so it can be fixed at some patch...just to be clear. thanks guys!! -

Yeah, just tested with a test roughmet (slight reflectivity) and diffuse map (flat grey)...the normal map for the TCS is not working for any skin as you can see in the image: -

Thanks a lot for the amazingly fast response!!:) About the issue, Im sorry, but are you sure it is working for you??...in that screen it is very hard to judge if the normal and roughmet is working but even then, i would say it is not...tried a repair and it still not working but did a different thing...looked for other screens to see if the TCS textures work correctly and interestingly found that it is not working for anyone but even the official screens have this issue: As you can see, the roughmet for hte TCS is not working either as the red light should have a very reflective material according to the roughmet map green channel which is clearly not working. Only the diffuse is working correctly (already tested) The normal map is also NOT working. I made a repair and still not working. Anyway, after looking at the files name, I found the solution...the issue is the file's name, which is incorrect for the roughmet...the official name is "HB_F14_TCS_RoughMet" instead of "HB_F14_EXT_TCS_RoughMet" and thus the roughmet won't work...I think this is the first time ever the TCS has looked correctly. Here it is after a few changes I made (not the official one but as you can see it works and looks great): the other side with the light on (look at the crstal surface): so definitely now it is working...I guess this could be considered as a "bug"...hope it helps  EDIT: After some more test, Normal map still not working...just deleted it and nothing changed. After trying extremely tangent light still no volume effect so its not working and the name is correct...maybe it is not binded correctly in 3DS??...at least the roughmet map is working now but would be great to also have the nice normal map... -

Amazing work with the template, guys, thanks a lot!!...just a little thing...the RoughMet map and the Normal map for the TCS doesn't seem to be working at all...tested in the default skins and after messing a bit with custom LUAs...nope. It looks flat. Could you guys check this. Also, in the LOD_3in1 file, looks like there is one helmet missing (not sure if the pilot one or the RIO one, but there is only 1 helmet...is there any way to include both in the case they are different for the LOD file? Thanks!! -

Agree with most opinions, I think it would be a great idea to have: -Fuel state calls (as much as possible situations) -Picture calls -Radar limits call -TCS fov -Speed calls/warnings -Option to go back in the menu -Faster response to enemy positions in dogfight thanks guys!! -
[DCS BUG] Sandstorm clips trough canopy edge
Ala12Rv-watermanpc replied to Knock-Knock's topic in Bugs and Problems
It has nothing to do with Heatblur, I posted about this in the corresponding subforum but ED never ever gave a response about it nor fixed it in the last...5/6 months??...same about the absurd extreme orange coloration of the fog or the fact that it doesn't look the same inside and outside of the cockpit. I dont know how long we will have to wait until they decide to fix/finish this work but brace yourself, it will take very long for sure. -
[NO BUG] VDI reflectivity issue with red filter
Ala12Rv-watermanpc replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in Bugs and Problems
Oh, my bad then sir, I though it was just a color change in the "CRT" screen...you are right, if there is a physical red "film" over the screen then the beahviour is absolutelly correct as the glare would be red-ish due to the light being tinted by the material...Im very sorry!! thanks for the clarification!! -
WOW!, thats what make you (heatblur) the best of the best in DCS...AMAZING love in your work and the correct amount of willing to improve things...thanks guys, you are the ones!!:)

...if there is any chance that tech is coming to the horizontal stabs and/or vertical fins??...it is such a satisfying effect!!...I recall reading somewhere that the horizontal ones would have it, I might be wrong though, so please HB, you guys rock!!, any chance to get this added at some development point?? thanks and once again, congrats for such an incredible job!!keep it up!! -

Well said. Agree with you!:) Im sure HB will deliver an outstanding template for the tomcat, well worth the wait. -
Absolutely agree with you, Heatblur, you are the only DCS brand I feel REALLY deserve to be congratulated, seriously, this is a blast of a module and simply excels in almost every single thing it could...FM, Graphics (real photorealistics), systems, details (and I mean D E T A I L S), etc. and the ONLY ONE that being labeled as "early access" doesn't really feels like that...cant wait for the rest of the things to come (cokcpit weathering tech, better jester, carrier, A model, fine tunnings, etc.)...Guys, ALL of you can be really proud of your hard work, and believe me, we will not forget the effort and LOVE you put on this project. Please, continue doing things as you are guys, you are the best of DCS!!!:)

[KNOWN ISSUE WIP] Idle speed should be enough for taxi
Ala12Rv-watermanpc replied to viper2097's topic in Bugs and Problems
yeah, indeed, the mig-29 behaves incredible realistic on hte ground, particulary good is the suspension where you can see the plane bouncing a LOT as it would in real life when braking for instance. The F-14 right now as well as other modules (probably all) feel way too "stiff" regarding suspension. Hope the Tomcat can feel more like hte mig-29 some day, even more when it is a bigger plane. -
[DCS BUG] Freezing Black Screen when exiting to Windows
Ala12Rv-watermanpc replied to Top Jockey's topic in Bugs and Problems
Same here, black screen and cant manage to see any other window except windows start and restart PC...alt+tab doesnt work althought the PC is not crashed. -
you must be in A/G mode and below certain distance before being able to track/area something as far as I know...try pointing to something closer and in A/G mode.

When enabling the red VDI color filter sun reflections on it and the glow effect linked to them become also red instead of remaining white-golden as they look when the green filter is used...screens below. Correct behaviour: Incorrect red glare and reflection (glare and reflection should look exactly hte same as with the green filter): Thanks HB for your out of this world work!!

[RESOLVED] DCS Crashing While Flying F14
Ala12Rv-watermanpc replied to TexasBread's topic in Bugs and Problems
To me it happens when trying to lock with sidewiders in ACM modes...unfortunately no crash logs of any kind are given, just crash to desktop inmediately and after a ouple of seconds where the image and sound hang.
