  1. Yes, it has been mentioned before that any module you own will be able to fly on the Normandy map. Should be fun!
  2. Hmm that Mig-19 is sexy :) I love these early generation jets so much more than the newer ones. I think the old-fashioned dogfights are much more fun than throwing BVR missiles at each other (though don't get me wrong, I still like doing that from time to time too). Using heat-seekers in a dogfight is tons of fun too. I bet I end up getting both of these beauties though! If I read up correctly, it looks like the Mig-19P will have a primitive radar that can help steer you to a target but it doesn't have IFF? Similar to an F-5 correct? Admittedly I do not know much about the Mig-19P so maybe I didn't get all the correct info. I would be fine without IFF because the F-5 is my favorite jet right now and it doesn't hinder me much. Either way, congrats to OverStatos and Razbam!
  3. Because I left Warthunder to come to a real flight combat game and will never turn back!
  4. That list is what has been mentioned in posts or development pictures and is not actually an "internal" list created by ED. Since ED has not talked about nor shown allied vehicles (aside from a WWII truck and B17) there will be nothing on the roadmap made by Silver Dragon. It is sill a great list to look at because Silver Dragon does such a good job to keep it updated when new stuff is announced or shown.
  5. Ya I hope they branch out and include more options for all the reasons you guys mentioned. I would be very pleased if they did the major ground units up to the end of the war so we can have a variety of scenarios. I just try to temper my expectations, that way if I'm wrong I get more excited
  6. I would be a bit surprised if they included the M-26 Pershing as its been said that the Normandy map is supposed to be just after the invasion. It's just an assumption, so it certainly could be wrong, but I imagine that they would keep most ground units to be from around that timeline. That being said, it would be nice to have some later units for mission designers to make late war scenarios. I figure most of the allied tanks will be shermans and some TD's (maybe hellcats or wolverines?) with the possibility of British tanks, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get British tanks. Either way I can't wait to see everything integrated!
  7. Already planned https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2828056#post2828056 I hope that the combined arms part of DCS WWII will be fun! We haven't seen any screens of allied tanks yet though but I'm sure those are in the works.
  8. Now that is how a teaser trailer should be! Very well done guys!
  9. Well I knew that they aren't on the same levels as aircraft. All I was saying is that just looking at the pictures of the Tiger I (or Tiger II), they don't seem to be any higher detail than the current T-90, or maybe slightly better (which is to say, I think that the Tiger is a great looking model by the way). I could be vastly wrong since I don't play CA frequently but that was just my opinion by looking at things. I guess we will find out soon enough what resolution/poly count the WWII ground units are. Perhaps they are making them sharper since WWII aircraft fly slower? Or they figure people will want to play WWII CA more? Either way it goes, I would imagine that ED is going to do their best to have things optimized well.
  10. The T-90 in particular seems to have a high level of detail for a ground unit and to my knowledge has not caused issues. No reason to think it will be any different with the WWII ground units.
  11. Oooh, that's sexy! Can't wait for DCS Normandy and the Spitfire to come out!

    Mirage F1

That's a sexy looking jet. Definitely will have fun with that one!
  13. That's a sexy livery! Good job!
  14. If you go onto the Open Conflict server, you can perform rescue missions, troop transport, cargo transport, etc with the Huey and Mi-8. I actually have more fun doing that than going around blowing stuff up with the Huey, but that's just me.
  15. Love the new timing for the map, it makes some early morning raids and rescues epic! Love this server and definitely glad you were able to squeeze in more slots to make it 29 people! Here are some of my pics:
  16. The pylons might not, but I first discovered this when using the MER for the Mk-82's. After dropping the bombs, that leaves the center pylon and the MER rack, which does affect performance to a certain extent (though emergency jettison gets rid of the MER rack but not the pylon). Plus, even if the pylons only minimally affect the performance, I would want every last ounce out of the machine since its T/W ratio is not as good as the Mig 21.
  17. I am under the impression that the emergency jettison only gets rids of the stores on all pylons, not the actual pylons attached to the wings. I will need to test the emergency jettison to see if it jettisons both, but what I described definitely gets rid of everything in order to give you the least amount of drag possible. EDIT: I just tested the emergency jettison button - I was correct, it jettisons all the stores but not the pylons. If you do it how I described, then you get rid of everything and will be faster and more maneuverable. It's easy - in the "select jettison" area on the left vertical panel, you click the switch down to the "all pylons" and then click jettison. That's it, no need to select the various pylons. Easy peasy.
  18. Yes, the F-5 is definitely a more dangerous foe now; the AIM-9P5 is significantly better. It's faster, turns better, acquires targets better and the seeker FOV is fixed. The gunsight is also fixed so that when you go into DG mode you get better lead information. I had quite a few kills today with the missiles on targets that were maneuvering and pulling multiple G's so that made a huge difference. While the Mig-21 still has several advantages, the F-5 should not be underestimated in the right hands! This is now my favorite module, hands-down!
  19. I would really like a group to focus on some "redfor" jets like the Su-15, Su-17/22, Mig-23, Mig-25, etc. Now I wouldn't argue if someone made an F-4E or F-105... Oh, and since maps can be made by 3rd parties soon - Vietnam map. I guess this should be more in the "DCS Wishlist" section but figured that others are doing it so I jumped in too!
  20. Another option is to select "all pylons" instead of "selected pylons" and then jettison. That way you don't have to manually select which pylons have fuel tanks/ordinance. Also, it gets rid of the fuel tank and pylon, further reducing drag.
  21. In case people didn't see the new screens from BST (not mine!). Looks like they are showing off the new Caucasus textures! I like the new fields, they looks quite nice!

    DCS: F-5E!

Well they may go with the recent trend of releasing it into 2.0 first prior to 1.5.4. They mentioned that once they get 1.5.4 into stable release they will work on updating 2.0, so the F-5 could come as soon as next week, though I bet it will still be 2-3 weeks. In the end, it's all conjecture and we will get it whenever it's ready. But I can hardly wait... :joystick:
