  1. You can get some nice camera angles with the external Track-IR enabled in the new patch!
  2. I was wondering that myself, the water looks much more organic in those pictures. Hopefully that is a new water model and not sorcery or camera angle magic!
  3. Now if you tell me you can command that Tiger II and fight tank battles with it, I will wet myself.... Seriously though, great work and thanks for sharing! The model looks great and can't wait to see it all in action just as AI units!
  4. Good to know, thanks. Still getting used to all the micro-managing required for these warbirds, but I think its awesome that this stuff is modeled. Cheers!
  5. Just so I'm clear, this is actually modeled in the game? So if the oil pressure is too high during takeoff, that in effect makes the engine more prone to seizing during battle 15-20 minutes later? If so, that is pretty cool, but it probably is one of the reasons why I blow my engine frequently...
  6. I also remember reading that a 3rd party is doing the Normandy map. I'm guessing it is an unannounced 3rd party but who knows. I don't think they mentioned who was working on the period AI units but that they will be ready with the launch of the map, but I also remember them saying the map wouldn't be launched until some time frame after 2.5 launches. It's anyone's guess how long it takes for all that but it's getting there.
  7. The Middle East map is a very good idea. Another one I would love to see is an accurate Vietnam era map. The Mig-21 v F-5 is a good combo and would fit well in there. Also some naval action would be available with upcoming modules. Then if they finally implemented napalm....
  8. I saw your post in the other section. There are a lot of things missing in this bug report. In the other post you mention it occurred when you were at high altitude for a long time and occurred during your decent. In order for this to be taken seriously, you will need a replay to see what is going on. Based on your other post, you need to make sure that you pressurize the cabin and turn on the oxygen valve before takeoff. If you did that and still get this bug: 1. How high do you go before this occurs? 2. Maybe you ran out of oxygen if you were at high altitude for a long time? Just some food for thought. We all need more information before we can cry foul and yell at the dev's to fix something. I for one have never had this issue unless I turned off oxygen or depressurized.
  9. These are from their Facebook page. There were earlier renders in this subforum, but I didn't include them since these are the newer ones and closer to what the final product would look like I imagine.

    No in the F5E

I agree with this too. I think I will spend most of my time in Mig-21 vs F-5 servers, but when I go onto the more populated mixed servers, I will just do ground strike and go from there. I will still have tons of fun regardless.

This x100! I don't understand why everyone thinks every jet module needs to be competitive in a modern airquake server. The F-5 Tiger II was never intended to fight the most modern jets that we have in game currently, and even the updated/modern versions would struggle, albeit less so. There will be plenty of upcoming modules that will fit in just fine with the servers that mix plane-sets, so I for one am extremely excited to have one of few upcoming modules that fit perfectly in its projected role with fewer "bells and whistles". The Mig-21 already has issues in these servers and now it finally has an appropriate enemy to fight against. I am certain there will be several new servers that will be Mig-21 vs F-5 and I think that is where I will spend most of my time. Sure there will be servers that have the F-5 mixed in with modern jets, but it should be on ones that have accurate opposition. In those servers it would be fun to try to sneak up on Su-25's or slow moving Su-27's, etc, but that type of server shouldn't be the expected norm to compare all future modules against. I got away from Warthunder for a reason - I like accurate match-ups and if something isn't "balanced" but it is realistic, then I find more enjoyment out of that, especially if I can get the upper hand on a 4th gen fighter and kill them. Just my $0.02. Not everyone agrees with this obviously and that's why we see multiple opinions. When it's all said and done, in 1-2 years there will be several new modules available that will attract most of the various groups in DCS. Exciting times!
  12. This is pretty much what I have come to realize in the past few days. I'm still not sure it's an instabuy for me, but I bet by the time it goes on sale I will have changed my mind....
  13. The more I read and learn about this jet, the more and more I'm interested in it. When I first heard about it, I just passed by because I didn't know anything about. But since it seems like such a popular jet by the number of posts I figured I would read up about it - I didn't realize how capable this thing can be for ground attack! What I like most is that it's designed more for "get in and get out" or fast paced ground strike, instead of loitering around like the A-10. Not sure if this is a first day buy for me quite yet until I see it in action in the DCS environment, but if it gets confirmed that we actually get to toss Thor's hammer, then that might just persuade me! Hopefully we get some info soon, though I suspect LNS is going to wait till painfully close to release time
  14. This is one of my favorite jets growing up, I can't wait to fly it in DCS! It will be tons of fun just flying it around and landing on carriers, not to mention actually dogfighting! Hopefully comes this year but I'll be fine waiting until it's polished and ready.

    DCS: F-5E!

Tomorrow (12 June) at 12:00 PST. Link to his live stream is in the "News" section at the top of the forum.

Just curious, but when you say that you will eventually make a complex module, do you mean a DLC with clickable cockpit (as in you would become a 3rd party Dev)? If so, I would certainly pay to have this as a full module to fit in with Mig-21 and F-5. There is just something about these older jets that make them more fun to fly, at least for me. Good luck with your work! P.S. - what three variants are depicted in the previous page?
  17. While I do think it would be cool to have it, I'm still going to have so much fun with this module! Can't wait for it to come out and start buzzing the Vegas strip!
  18. The version we are getting does not have air-to-air refueling. It was stated by one of the (I think) dev's in Belsimtek.
  19. Manuel - I was flying on the Open Conflict server. I am not certain what season or exact time of day it was, other than morning. There was dynamic weather enabled, but other than that, I do not know what settings were there for the fog effect. Sorry I couldn't really give you much information, I was too busy taking screenshots :music_whistling:
  20. So in my preliminary testing, it seems the radar, RWR and IFF are working appropriately. Glad to see it going in the right direction! Some bugs I've noticed (not game breaking, but wanted to let you know): 1. Can't hear the engine sounds outside the cockpit. 2. I no longer see the puff of black smoke when transitioning out of afterburner. Actually, I don't think the exhaust smoke is visible at any engine setting. 3. I have an FPS drop, but to be honest I am not sure if it is definitely due to these binary fixes. I will have to test other planes and try reverting to the old files to check. This is on version 1.5.3.52724 EDIT: Did a bit more testing looking for bugs to help you all out: 4. From cold start, the aileron booster switch is already turned on. Not sure if this is truly a bug or intended behavior (previously I forgot that switch frequently until I was airborne...). 5. I can confirm that problems 1 & 2 are definitely present. I tried removing the fixed binaries and placing the old ones back in and I do feel that there may have been a small 5-10 FPS drop, but this is still anecdotal and cannot completely confirm, so I leave that one up in the air for others to weigh in and test. - My specs are i7-4720 @ 2.6, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10, GTX-980M (laptop) Overall, still love learning to fly this bird and it is rapidly becoming my favorite module! So much more to learn on it though!
  21. I already posted this in the other screenshot thread, but thought I would put the slightly edited version in here, along with the original. And the unedited original
  22. Some early morning action in the Mig-21 - trying to learn how to fly it so I can play the F-5e and this on the same server in the (hopefully near) future!
