  1. it doesnt help to only find a manual that is SA 341 with the STOP, RUN, START switch. http://www.avialogs.com/en/aircraft/france/aerospatiale/as341gazelle/flight-manual-gazelle-sa-341g.html it's a simplified start but i am just trying to understand the logic. i think i have figured it out the handle you can not move is the fuel shutoff? and the yellow is a condition lever from idle to 100%? or is there a fuel shutoff somewhere i have not found yet? it sucks i can not play right now as i am not at home so i cant even get a good idea the handle BLACK with Yellow stripes the fuel cutoff?? i was trying to find the marking of what all the levers do, but apparently they didn't put it in the flight manual.
  2. not every friday but apparently they dont play the game other then there modules? last week was gazelle release and it was said and expected the gazelle would be released on 1.5.3 today which would mean a patch. but hey. i said the same thing you did.
  3. This is not true they often have released a beta on friday and if nothing is broke they release it to stable around wednesday. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2769949&postcount=86 cobra makes it sound like the mig was fixed in todays patch. Expecting the IC is alittle far fetched for 1.5.3 i think. that was part of the large 2.0.2 update and who knows IF they plan on putting it in 1.5.3, just like you can change controls in 2.0.2 now in MP. maby i missed a post somewhere tho. i would think for a IC change you would have to see a version 1.5.4. EDIT ignore that about the mig 21 i missed this. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2769896&postcount=81 No- unfortunately we did not expect a patch this Friday. New binaries are in QA and should be available soon for 1.5.3.52724 Release.
  4. Vent wouldnt this be for Venting the engine of fuel/hotair from a hot start or doing a compressor wash on the engine? in VENT position the starter would run but there would be no igniter. If you had just shut the engine down and the T4 is above a safe temp to restart you may VENT the engine to get the T4 down to an acceptable temperature to restart the engine with out the risk of a hot start and "breaking" the engine, further the VENT position would be used for Maint. and compressor washes. the T4 temp seems to be very scripted and goes to the yellow line and stops like it's on a limiter on the start? so i talked to a friend who has experience working on the engine and such start sequence described to me was. The yellow fuel lever to the start position, Fuel boot pump on for 20 second to prime the engine then starter on and it runs thought the "auto start" somewhere around 19,0000 to 21000rpm the clutch engages/rotor brake off. EDIT:the clutch engagement might be wrong he is old guy and hasnt been around one in some time. but you shouldn't HAVE to run the pump for 20 second as this could lead to a hot start of the engine if it had just shut down. The one big thing i see wrong with the start is the YELLOW lever should be forward to the "start" position before the engine boost pump is turned on or the engine would not be primed as fuel would be turned off. unless my logic for this lever is wrong? 5. Vent would be just that Vent the engine of fuel/hotair from a hot start or doing a compressor wash on the engine. If you had just shut the engine down and the T4 is above a temp you may VENT the engine to get the T4 down to an acceptable temperature to restart the engine with out the risk of a hot start further turbine compressor need to be cleaned for efficiency and corosion, it is normally done on a Hourly or calendar basis...such as 25 hours or 14 days for corrosion and such depending on the climate the aircraft is operated in. i dont understand how not holding the boost pump on long enough would cause this but i have never worked around this engine?
  6. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2548018 DCS_Updater.exe install POLYCHOPSIM_SA342 in a quick run down go to DCS BIN FOLDER and click NO files off to the right on the white LEFT SHIFT RIGHT CLICK and you should see Open command prompt here... then type the install command above.
  7. there are not alot of options and there are different price points and you wont find the nice pedals like MFG crosswinds on amazon, as they are made to order i with a lead time. http://mfg.simundza.com/products the new thrustmasters are priced in the PS4 market where above MFG's are high end beauties.

    DCS: F-5E!

well the weekend new is kinda dead, but considering how much they teased the gazelle before they released it and how they have not shown the F-5 is making this Within a month more like within 3 months.
  9. i bought 2 of the exact same cards flashed them and only 1 of them would unlock and run 6970 so when i got my 390 i gave the 6950 away and kept the one that unlocked to 6970 for a backup.
  10. "the arcade of DCS" obviously you didnt understand me but that seems to happen often. the fact the simplified systems compared to other modules is where this statement comes from it's not HAWX arcade but it is ARCADE compared to the fidelity of other modules.
  11. If i'm not mistaken the F-15C was done by Belsimtek, at least the manuals have there name on them. and there more focuesed on new modules with full functioning avionics. as i said before FC3 is the arcade of DCS tho yes we all hope for new 33/29 FM's. but who is actually doing them?
  12. yes it has held up and continues to but like you i have spent some time and looked at a new machine but i decided to just buy a 390 for now and upgrade my whole system when the new video cards come out. i had 2 6950 2GB cards and it was just lacking vram for DCS anymore and suffered from microstutters from crossfire at times i looked at 970 but the 3.5GB vram killed it so i stuck with AMD. time will tell what i use in my next system, but i didnt see any use in it untill later this year and the next gen cards. right now as i type this on an Old asus G74SX 560 3GB 2670qm laptop. before someone hits me with the amd fanboy 3.5GB comment.
  13. he said F-15E could be the issue, yes FC3 is the arcade of dcs modules.
  14. DCS likes the ram there is no lies there, i swaped out my 8 for 16, then decided to see if my old 1.65v 8gb would work with my new 16 and i got lucky and they played well together. 16 should be fine 32 is overkill but i dont think you would notice a performance difference between the 2
  15. How can they release it on steam when it's not even released on 1.5.3? kinda a funny question... they dont IGNORE steam but they have to abide by steam rules and processes.
  16. ok i cant play the game right now but i heard reports that if you reset trim you can pull more G's can someone test this out?
  17. why these 2 choices? not that either are bad, but is it Price? the 32GB set is alittle slower with looser timings so the top 16gb set would be "faster". a better question is why Gskill? over the others. i dont think you would see much of a FPS difference in the 2 either would wor find, the difference would be so small you wont notice it.
  18. ??? there are lots of "good" pedals but i read somewhere these were to be priced at 89$ you have to read all of it these are to also work with PS4 i believe so they are not marketed at the high end market, if you want high end check out MFG crosswinds or such.
  19. no one is trying to argue that fact it's for balance.
  20. i found one on sale, asus strix for 310 sale a while back. i couldnt justify spending any more money without upgrading the whole machine, and i'm gonna wait for next gen cards before i do that. and maby if Zen works out use that but time will tell i have used intel recently. it works good just have to watch the 0db fan as it went on vacation with the old asus GPU tweak , also forcing 3d clocks helps alot and will get you a few FPS in some bad areas in MP.
  21. model enlargement allready does this.
  22. how exactly does this work when you are in a F15 at 40 k and i'm on the deck 20 miles in front of you? you can give me the exact location, distance and altitude of your target? more like an idea of where the contact you see on your radar is.
  23. i didnt read back but TRIAS and other owners. FORCE 3D clocks will net you 10FPS or so in some areas where it drops. i have asus card there is a button but there is also a program someone made called "clockblocker" which will force the card to run MAX clocks when gaming.
  24. simo i had never installed a mod in DCS untill this came out and i only installed it to check it out with another player who told me about it and we went and played he was in a f15 high and i was in a Mig 29 low, so he is above me and painting targets for me as i am coming in to the mountains and it became clear very quick just how BS this mod was for use in a mainly non mod using MP server. i get ripped on for using the VTB viewport on the mirage radar no less this.
  25. i use the same CPU but overclocked with a 25$ coolermaster hyper 212 evo@4.4 and it never breaks 65c. as for the video card i upgraded from 2x6950's 2GB in crossfire to 1 R9 390, i looked at 970vs 390 and decided on AMD due to the Vram. 970 has 3.5Gb of "full speed" ram where for the similar price and performance number the 390 had FULL 8GB. there's no point in getting a video card more expensive then this with out upgrading the whole system as it will just bottleneck on the system, some of it is going to be What you want to do and what resolution you plan on running. looking at your system specs i dont thin i would waste the money on an upgrade. a GTX 590 as long as your 1920x1080 Should be fine, what i would look at is overclocking the CPU would help DCS ALOT, if you have a stock cooler look at an aftermarket one and if you allready have an aftermarket cooler then do some research about overclocking and shoot for 4.2/4.4GHZ should be achievable just watch your temps.
