Map objects flicker, houses and ships popup
fab.13 replied to z-mann's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
UP Hello, Same bug here since 2.9 update and still visible with second patch Boats ( without texture ) pop -up and disappear randomly ( 2D, VR, MT, ST ) from cockpit or external view ONLY when on airports ( caucasus map, persian map ... ) Here are some screenshot of the problem And a mission to start in order to reproduce from cockpit view ( we hope it will be reproduced ! ) DCS 2.9 is stock and just patched : slow clean repair done, "saved game" renamed, etc... I can see some error in log , maybe linked ? 2023-10-31 19:23:53.518 ERROR EDCORE (Main): No suitable driver found to mount mods/terrains/persiangulf/models/airfieldslightseffects/airfieldslightseffects.texture.zip 2023-10-31 19:23:53.518 ERROR EDCORE (Main): No suitable driver found to mount mods/terrains/persiangulf/models/modellighteffects/modellighteffects.texture.zip 2023-10-31 19:23:53.518 ERROR EDCORE (Main): No suitable driver found to mount mods/terrains/persiangulf/assets/assetstextures.zip Merci pour ton aide Flappie.

Some people use Openxr toolkit With Turbo mode On to get better experience Activate Turbo mode On when in Dcs menu
-
Hello Maybe you should check first in dcs log that the same vr api is used for ST and MT( openxr vs steam vr vs open vr and so on…)

VR Screen Tearing after flying for about 30 minutes..
fab.13 replied to LOW_Hitman's topic in VR Bugs
Hello -check memory RAM usage ( swaping ) - check temperatures - try with your rig pan openned ( i do that in summer ) -
How do I enable full-screen on regular display when using VR?
fab.13 replied to ElCuco68's topic in Virtual Reality
Hello select ´use dcs resolution’ in VR tab settings choose your resution in System Tab setting -
Hello i dont understand you do not need to download openxr as it is natively supported by occulus Maybe you speak about ´ OpenXR toolkit ´ ?

Hello Taz and lefuneste, I can see in VR multiplayer session that some plane generate ghosting whereas other plane are clean By exemple, when in VR formation flying in my cockpit, F-86 is ghosting whereas SU27 or Harrier are not ghosting at all. In this session, Su27 and F-86 and me were flying together behind a Harrier formation flying, i just had to turn my head left or right to see each different plane So i suspect F-86 textures to be one of source of this ghosting problem ( by looking in the f86 folder, textures are very huge ... ) My Question : Could it be a good test that a I try to optimize F-86 textures, as you decribed, and check if the VR ghosting problem is solved or not ? The multiplayer server doesn't need 'pure client' ( IC check )

Hello lefuneste01 and DrCure Do we need someone with a 8gb VRAM GC to play track and try reproduce the problem ? ( and maybe dcs settings about textures that meet this issue ... ) Because, as you kown, a track only replay the inputs of a mission file started ( to be confirmed ). And Maybe another thread about this specific issue ? ( potential issue related to this main thread about textures )
-
Hello Flipperkast multiplayer consume more ressources than singleplayer ( ram, vram ..) This Can be cheched in Windows task manager you should try your favorite multiplayer server with DCS lowest setting first ( low textures and so on…) If it’s ok, then change settings one by one
-
Hello, Using occulus, you don't need WMR toolkit like described in previous post ( G2 headset ) You should try native occulus api first as suggested by dburne ( OpenXR tuning will be mandatory in a future when DCS will support that only one API... ) So See this thread to use native occulus api with DCS MT Check DCS log ( first pages ) about which VR API is used when have launched DCS

Hyperthreading On/Off with Multithreading
fab.13 replied to DirtyMike0330's topic in Virtual Reality
Hello, Core i5 10600kf here ( 6 cores ), I disable HT to reduce some Stutter in DCS MT ( but not all stutter... ), I will redo test next patch. In the forum, some people assign DCS MT to physical core to get better experience ( HT on ) And There is already a thread of mine about this subject. So maybe you have to test yourself only if you meet some problem ( some stutter in DCS MT that not exist in DCS ST ) -
Hello there is a dedicated section in forum about MT version you could upload the mission or track to help to report this MT specific problem
-
True, personnal dedicated server So maybe we should test directly DCS MT multiplayer client connected to large server ( Many units many scripts) versus ST DCS client, with HT option combinaison
-
Hello On next test about HT, maybe we should test a heavy mission in DCS MT ( Many units ans scripts) HT ON could give overall better results in such case ( stutter but playable ? )
-
Hello, So i tested MT version with my favorite Free Flight - FPS are better ( Rift User here : 90hz most of the time ) - plane command response are better too ( reduced latency ) - but some stutter when flying over city and looking left or righ side of cockpit ( rift user here ). I try disabling HyperThreading in Bios ( core i5 10th 6 cores 6 threads ) And most of stutter has disappeared ( some little stutter stay but it is very much confortable ) PS: This only my free flight test i use to test VR options. Maybe this should not be a good advice to disable HT in the usecase about heavy mission ? But free flight is one part of the test ( Stutter are not reproduced on ST version native Occulus or OpenXR, very smooth )
-
Hello, I have started some test about stutter that i met too only in MT version ( Rift user here ) I succeded to reduce many stutter by disabling HyperThreading in BIOS ( core i5 10th 6 core - 6 threads ) Some little stutter stay, but is very much confortable with this BIOS Setting. So give a try to disable HyperThreading in your BIOS ( don't remember the name on AMD rig )

Hello, Be careful that MT Version now use OpenXR API for Occulus headset ( command line flag not working anymore in MT version ) So comparison is very confusing with the forced introduction of OpenXR Question : What API are you using in ST version ? ( shortcut command flag or DCS log say that )
-
Hello, 1) No problem with OpenXR api, the subject is choice. But the question is : what about other runtime when using the MT version ? Because other runtime are natively supported in ST version, in this patch too. Some people prefer to use different runtime, is th MT version will allow the choice or not ? 2) @Hippo we meet the same stutters on heavy scene, not reproduced in ST version ( OpenXR or Native Occulus ) May be we could insert these 2 different subjects ( runtime question and stutter issue ) in https://forum.dcs.world/forum/1144-multi-threading-bug-reports-temp
-
Hello 1)I noticed that DCS MT version use Open XR for Occulus HeadSet, no choice. The Classic DCS continue to allow you to use Occulus runtime with shortcut flag ( no OpenXr ) Maybe MT developpement has only been made for Open XR runtime ? Or Maybe the precedence runtime choice is OpenXr first as a previous patch ? ( HotFix was delivered to chose Runtime ) 2) Some stutter are visible now in MT verssion when looking letf or right side on heavy scene As described in patch notes.

Hello, You need a lot of VRAM on your graphic card to play DCS 8G of VRAM is a minimum, but not enough if you read some threads in forum You should get 10 go VRAM minimum ( i keeped my 1080ti for that ) Buying a 1080ti second hand should be a better choice than a 3060 6GB About CPU , 4,5 ghz is a good target About RAM, 32 go minimum ( cl14 if possible ) to enjoy multiplayer

Hello, So i tried some OpenXR settings within OpenXRToolkit ( many settings ! ) FSR 100% and Sharpening 60% make object to be more delimited The FPS are 45hz maximum on my rig, but this is acceptable and better for my eyes . ( i can get 90hz some time with occulus native api with same DCS settings ) What settings do you have choose ?
-
Thanks did you have to change some settîngs with openxrtoolkit to be satisfîed ?
-
Hello for now, do you prefer openxr or native oculus for playing ? i have noticed some disagrement in my rift when using openxr , but i did not try settîngs in openxrtoolkit yet
