Stop occulus, and then Start SteamVR i suppose. This is more simple than i believed... So i 'll give a first try without reshade Many Thanks.
-
Hello Supmua, Do we have a link that explain how to use an oculus headset with DCS through SteamVR ? it is not a usal way to use occulus heaset but why not ... The first time i read about Reshade , i believed that was not available for occulus Headset. I own a Rift CV1 and i would like to give a try to this reshade. Thanks

Hello, Bad performance only on MP server ? How many fps in a SP free flight caucasus without cloud ? ( to get a performance scale of your machine ) Did you rename your 'saved grame' in order to configure from DCS scratch ? ( recopy 'config/input' directory to retreive key bindings ) The only MP problem i met on my side , was a RAM spike when chosing different plane in a the same MP session. RAM need and VRAM need have to be monitored first.

Solved my problem by deleting saved game fxo contents Forgot to do that before onstalling the last patch ( dcs updater should do that for us...)

Hello, Before the cloud jittering fix, flying by night was very fine for me. I just tested an existing mission today, - i cannot see the stars no more - a halo is in front off the cockpit ( disapear if head moved outside of cokpit ) - building in Dubai have no colored light... Is anybody has seen the same difference ? I remember i must have lowered the Gamma setting to 1.2 to get a good experience But the gamma setting seems to be to high by now, ( cannot input lower than 1.0 in DCS setting ) Thanks Rift CV1, Full stock DCS ( no mods )

Hello, With this patch, Cloud give me a great VR flying experience, nearly perfect in my point if view. Before this patch, i was able to get full Rain Droplets in VR ( Rift CV1 ) with Overcast 2 Rain setting Flying in the rain was very well rendered. Now, i have only droplets on the cockpit glass, but no more droplet falling down from the sky. I tried the 3 cloud Overcast Rain preset but no chance... I hope rain will came back ...

Hello, I got the same feeling on my first try, it was difficult to read the 3 mfd in the f18 There is a thread about contrast too My advice is to get a clean dcs install from scratch, see this thread It could help you
-
Hello. I believe that a 'dcs repair with delete non official files option' get the same result than delete and donwload dcs ..(official files images from 2.7 ) About contrast, there is a specific thread about that. Within my rift, i can now read jauges more easily with same PD and performances increased, less need of zoom for now for me
-
Well said ! I agree, i redone settings step by step from a clean DCS ( 'saved game' renamed ) and 2.7 is now good.( it was not good on the first try ) It's better than DCS 2.5.6 from my own experience
-
Hello, I had the same feeling of no contrast in my first test in 2.7 VR Give a try tho this simple setting method ( given by BN and successful tested by some guys including me )
-
Hello, In my first try in DCS 2.7 VR, I just deleted fxo and metashader in "saved games" as we are used to do about minor patch. Performances was lower than in 2.5.6 ( 45hz insteed of 90hz in my rift) in my "perfomances test mission" I was a little disapointed... I read this great forum, some guys met the same problem, and tested a sucessful solution given by BN : - rename 'saved games' So i tried : - rename 'saved games' - start game from scratch ( without any mods ) and enable VR - close DCS - copy paste your input config - start DCS and redo all settings step by step, starting from VR preset is good method. Some rendering method seem to have been changed in DCS 2.7, so you have to forget your 2.5.6 preceding settings, and redo them until you get statisfied I remember now this method from redo settings from scratch was proposed when we started with 2.5.6 And everything is now beautiful and smooth ( 90hz ! ), The clarity in cockpit is incredible ( not the case in my first try ) better than in 2.5.6 for my point of view. Next test time, i'll add mods one by one... Good Job ED ! I hope this text will help people.. My Rig: i5 10600k, 1080ti, 32 GB Ram, SSD, Rift CV1

Hello, Good VR news ! Does anyone could confirm it works with a Rift and confirm the visual improuvments ? I didn't find a clear answer about that in this thread ... Thanks.

My System: Would 32GB Improve It?
fab.13 replied to C3PO's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello, Go to 32. Good Freq and low cache latency as possible. DCS memory needs are growing because DCS gives more ( good ) stuff time after time. Check your ram usage with windows performances tool to get conviced If ram usage are near the physical limit, it's time to add RAM. Multiplayer need more ram than solo. -
Hi, You should answer to Flappie : send the dcs log just after a crash Flappie phone number should be 911
-
Maybe a question of time playing When increasing swap, the limit is far away than before ( if this is a limit problem...) You should check memory usage when playing, if it is increasing continously or not... And what about free memory available while playing... I am interested about a link of 'hot swap connect' you mentionned

What gpu do you reccomend for VR?
fab.13 replied to jonatron5's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello, My advice is : - Try with a 1080ti used card, or 2080ti used card My experience about DVS VR is : - you need a CPU at 4.5 ghz minimum ( mine is and old i5 2500k overcloked) - you need a good motherboad ( to allow oervclock as mentionned ) - you need good DDR and 32 GB minimm ( Cache latency and Frequency Ratio 2400 CL10 for me ) - you need good GPU with quick VRAM and quantity ( i upgraded to a customized 1080ti ) - you need SSD - nothing running on windows and a lot of tweak has to be done with last patches ( i stayed in 1803 version because of that... ) With those upgrade i done, my VR Experience is now good ( 90hz in a rift CV1 most of the time since last DCS patch, 45Hz if MSAA * 2 is setted) -
Hello, Check you have enough swapfile in windows performances settings Windows needs swapfile when running DCS, even if you have 32gb RAM Try without any overcloking too. Others people are going to help you ..( Flappie ;-) )
-
Hello, Did you check ram usage ? ( with basic windows perfomances tools ) Do you have enough swap file and free disk space ? Because DCS MulitPlayer need more Ram than off-line ( we can observe it.. ) If RAM needed exceeds a lot your physical RAM, the DCS process could stuck ( cannot exit !! ) or Windows stuck itself too, and you have to kill the process as you describe... I met a similar problem when my machine was 16 Gb Ram : not able to play on some multiplayer server or exit properly solved by upgrading to 32 ( until next DCS release needs goes up to 32 ;-) or some memory leaks not solved... ) You should try to reproduce with some light server on caucasus map ( less ram need ).

Latest bunch of nVidia drivers causes performance drop?
fab.13 replied to Lange_666's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Agree 90Hz with Rift cv1 most of the time today in a multi-player mission i'm used to fly, that's great for me ( i5 2500k @4.5 Ghz, 32 GB Ram, 1080Ti ). My VR experience is better and better with theses OB Patch. Thanks ED Teams ! -
Thanks for the link I can find link that are not agree It Seems there are a lot of combination to get the good choice. AMD, Intel, and Motherboard manufacturer should give us the correct answer. I noticed myself a little downgrade that i can see in VR ( FPS value , Windows needs was about 9 Gb RAM for my test ) on my intel machine when i upgraded from 16 to 32 ( one dual kit -> 2 dual kit , i added one dual kit with same memory specs ) I'll try to compare myself 1 dual kit vs 2 dual kit ( same total ) for my next machine.

Unsteady CPU usage, sometimes up to 60% for the Ryzen 5 3600
fab.13 replied to GTX2660Ti's topic in Game Performance Bugs
DCS is written with high level langages It use stack librairies and api that can use threads... Windows OS use threads to make your machine what you ask. And DCS ask a lot ! -
Unsteady CPU usage, sometimes up to 60% for the Ryzen 5 3600
fab.13 replied to GTX2660Ti's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Hello If dcs run smooth with no stutter, then everything is OK, dcs is not the problem Cpu need depends of dynamic script, and there are a lots ! If cpu usage stay under 80% during all flight, your machine answer to charge is good First Check temparature of your cpu, your cooler system may have a problem or box may be under ventilated Check about windows background process while rpm is high -
With only one dual kit ( 2 modules ) if possible ( 2 * 16 or 2 * 32 ). It will be quicker than 2 dual kit ( 4 modules )

[REPORTED] Low FPS and Low GPU/CPU/RAM Usage
fab.13 replied to GetMessi's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Hello cmdramasu, This is not an issue anymore in my point of view. DCS 2.5.6 needs are more about : - 32Gb Ram ( especially in MP ), - 8Go VRAM minimum ( > 8 for recent map as Syria, Channel... ) - CPU at 4,5 Ghz ( even an i5 2500k ) I upgraded from 16 to 32 Gb RAM from Gtx 1060 to Gtx 1080ti and DCS is now very good most of usecase.
