^ What he said. Watching youtube tutorials and doing at the same time is what I did. I watched the hornet startup so many times before the module came out I just hoped in and started it. The hornets learning curve is pretty shallow relatively speaking.
I've had a lot of frustrating times where I had a bandit locked and im in a position to shoot but the aim-9 would have a tone. Even when withing 5 miles or even at 2 nothing. It's let to a lot of missed kills and deaths. Is this supposed to be fixed because I dont want to have to unlock the target and re acquire it with jhmcs to use aim-9.
Im no expert on the hornet but from what I know for that kind of functionality we will need the targeting pod. Maybe there is a way to get the coordinates of the waypoint designate marker.
As for the radar, right now all we have is rws so you can get some information like range and closure rate if you pay attention to how far it moves in between sweeps, soon we will get the ability to id our targets like in the f15 but everything so far is very basic, we are just now starting to see more functionality but don't expect much more for a while.
The 120b is more maneuverable because of its larger wing area, so i usually take 1 or 2 for close engagements. The aim7 is also good to use when engaging bandits that are close to friendlies, so your missile doesn't pitbull on a friendly if you lose lock.
While I agree with you this should be an easy task, I dont think ed would want to make people pay for this. A feature like this is something that should be in the base game for free.
Is there a way to see the altitude of a contact i have locked?
Will we ever have the ability to see the aircraft type when we have it locked like in f15?
First I have to say really great job ed and co very great map and lots of fun to play!
My question is are there going to be more airbases and expansions into other countries like Qatar and Bahrain? Seems like the grid includes these countries already.
