  1. Time for a little feedback, i'll stick this in a spoiler as to not give anything away for those who haven't played the missions yet. Thats all i can think of right now, but i'll keep thinking on it. We're gonna be doing mission two over the next night or two. So i'll let you know how it goes...
  2. Wonderful stuff Winston, very nice to see COOP missions getting some love. There aren't enough available. Only had a quick chance to have a look at mission one, but i had to come and say thanks for this anyway. A good solid collection of COOP mission for DCS is general is something we sorely miss.
  3. Thanks for the reply, i wouldn't know where to start in modifying the script. Guess i'll have to think of something else.
  4. Greetings all, i'm hoping for a little help. I'm pretty new to all this, but think i have the basics down for this script. Bravo for your guys work on this, it really is a little gem. I have a question relating to aircraft type used in the GCI & CAP roles. Is it possible to define different types of aircraft to a certain CAP or GCI area? For example, lets say i have CAP zones within Russian airspace, with Su27's. Would it then be possible to set up addition CAP zones in Abkhazian airspace, but using Mig21's just on those CAP zones. Thankyou in advance for any help on this matter.
  5. Let me just clarify a couple of things... As i posted in the first post, this wasnt a question of port forwarding or asking for help on that subject. I am well aware of how to forward ports etc. It was just a question into the LAN interface removal (or change to the system as it apperas to be, thankyou MTrenda) As i said i've been playing this series for many years and have, in the past tried all manner of fixes that have been posted on these forums. Some which have worked some not, the same with forwarding the ports. It seemed a bit hit and miss as to it working. Over this time the one way i have found of assuring a connection between myself and others, has been to use a virtual LAN. It maybe not the best way to connect i dont know. But i do know that over the many iterations of this sim, its the one way i can play a small coop, quickly and easily without having to either port forward myself or explain to other friends how to do it. As for suggestions of me blaming DCS because of my incompetence on network matters or outdated hardware, then this is simply not true. I asked a question relating to a function of the sim which was in my mind removed for no reason, stopping me from playing the way i wanted to. I appreciate the help and responses and i do not just post on this forum for the hell of it. I have searched and tried many fixes as mentioned previously, all i was looking for was an answer to that initial question. Mods please close this thread.
  6. ENO you dont seem to grasp the concept i'm getting at. Giving my friend the IP listed in the interface DOES NOT WORK, nor has it ever worked properly or consistently. That is why we used virtual LAN programs to almost force a connection through. This has worked fine (mostly fine) for years, hence i have never had a problem before. I'm well aware of how to go about setting up a server and picking a spot to "fly" thankyou for your step by step instruction to the question i didnt ask. .... Tell you what, stop looking and replying to thread, i'll stop responding to you, everyone's happy. MTrenda, thankyou for that explanation. So let me just clarify if i uncheck public it will force the game to use the LAN interface?
  7. Funny that isnt it, but dont worry its ok for those who can afford dedicated servers. Or time to join big groups to get access to one.... Only the little guys who have bought every game since the original LOCKON getting screwed over. Honestly i didnt even mind paying to upgrade modules/games i already owned just so i could play them online. HAH! BI & Eagle were the two hopes i had for PC gaming.
  8. Ok thankyou for some form of answer. That pretty much ends my days of playing or paying for another DCS product then.
  9. I'm not interested in keeping my server private, i'm interested in being able to have a friend connect to me or i to them. Private or none private, the LAN option was the only way of actually connecting and getting a game. Again this was not what i asked. All i asked was why has the option been removed?
  10. Sorry? what kind of reply is that... I'm not going into how can i possibly get my game which ive poured alot of money into to even work. I'm asking a simple question, why can i no longer choose my interface? The fact is, no matter what fixes i try i cannot host a server using the normal interface. Hence the reason i have used Tunngle or similar for years with no issues. Now this option has been removed. Leaving me unable to play the game. I shouldn't have to move heaven and earth just to get my game working online, i accepted the fact it didnt work, because again i could use the LAN option to do what i wanted out of the game which was a small coop with 1 or 2 friends.
  11. Hi, i'm a long supporter of this series and LOCKON before it. I have accepted many bugs and problems over the years, because lets face it. You really cant beat the DCS "feel" as a flight sim fan. Part of this feeling came from playing online with friends doing coop flights. Now again i have always overlooked past problems when it came to connection, because i always had the option of using Hamachi or in the more recent years Tunngle. So why has the option to select a LAN interface been removed? Is has all but destroyed my enjoyment of DCS. Before people start talking of opening ports and doing this and that. Stop... I just want to know why i can no longer select the LAN interface. All i want is a game with a friend after we both have invested heavily both time and money into this series, to be denied the only way we have of playing together.
  12. Has anybody had any luck with the problem above? I having the exact same issue. Only since the new update, i cannot select other interfaces when trying to host a server. Normally i just use Tunngle and select the tunngle ip usually 7.whatever. Before the update i could select either this or my normal ip (which has never worked for hosting hence tunngle). EDIT: I have also tried the mentioned fixes, but no luck.
  13. Good to see its not just me with the CI.
  14. Update on my problems... After lots of messing for no joy, i decided to do a clean install of DCS. I uninstalled/reg clean etc. Then installed World/A10/P51/CA. I host a game for me and a friend and amazingly it worked first time. We had a good solid 3hr flight. I went off that night happy. Come today, start mupltiplayer, host a game same as yesterday. Guess what.... Connection Interupted. Exact same problem as before, NOTHING has changed since yesterday, what the hell is going on.
  15. I have tried of all the solutions, plus lots of playing with my router. As i say all has been fine until the past month. Ive never had to mess about before to get into or host a stable server.
  16. After everything working fine since the beta pretty much, i have now started to get Connection Interupted when i try to join a server and more annoyingly friends get CI when trying to join my server. Tried going through Tunngle, but had the same results. I dont get what has changed, afaik nothing has changed on my end. Pretty frustrated right now...
  17. I distinctly remember forum posts stating those who purchased the original beta will get the Nevada terrain free when it was finished. If this is not the case then frankly i am going to be as annoyed as all others who purchased the early A10 beta. Personally FC3 wasnt a complete waste of money for me as i enjoy the F15 and the DCS World merge is something that is deserving of a little money. But as someone who purchased LOCKON/FC/FC2 i can completely see where others are coming from that charging a full module price for something which is in essence just FC2 updated slightly and DCS World compatible. I am one of those who has purchased every ED product betas included. Not only for my enjoyment but to support ED. I really have to say though, if it turns out, we who paid the original price for the A10 beta do not get Nevada once it is released for free, i will definatly not be purchasing future titles. I appreciate ED is a business, but there is only so far the loyal users can be pushed.
  18. Used to be the Enter key, have a look through the controls in the options. Look for Weapon Release.
  19. Cant answer all of these but... 1. Its pretty much the FC2 content, but with the changes you mentioned and a few more. 2. DCS World takes care of the compatability and thats free, so yeah just buy FC3 if thats all you want to fly (Providing you have the original Lock-On or FC or FC2). 3. Doubt there will be any kind of ED Primary server, but i'm sure the online players will pick up a bit with the new content. 4. Unknown, but i would imagine so. 5. You only need one of them installed. So just installing the original Lock-On from the disk will be fine. This can then be uninstalled. 6. Yes DCS:CA will be compatible online. You can drive around in that Shilka till your hearts content (Just dont expect high fidelity ground models/graphics, this is after all a flight sim).
  20. 0 to 35,000 Just like that, my god have i missed the F15C. Such a shame we cant have the full DCS treatment to it. The new cockpit is great, makes me want to click buttons though. :)
  21. Ok mate no worries, i'll get some landing and ferry flight practice in while you work. :pilotfly:
  22. Are these checklists still available to the public? They were by far the best out there, after some time off from DCS i want to get back into it and i fear without access to these it is going to be so much harder to re-jog my memory. I hope it is still possible to get access to this wonderful literature.
  23. Cheers for posting that up. Asymmetric load, i was certain of it.......:joystick: At least now i wont have to trim roll constantly.
  24. Personally i use the following:- Ground/Taxi Nav Lights to Flash Gear Light to Taxi Take Off/Transit Gear Light to Takeoff Nav Lights Steady Strobe Light On Formation Lights (If required) I then set my pinky switch as per situation, so off for fence in. :)
  25. The only thing i would say besides practice, is to get the aircraft as steady as possible before connecting. So trim, trim and trim again...
