  1. Just pissing into the wind here, but have you tried swapping the PS2 cable around which connects your stick to throttle? This probably isnt the cause, but i have heard of cable problems causing undesirable effects.
  2. I'd just like to ad my two cent's to this. I am totally converted from XP to Win7. I have the RC1 installed with the latest ATI Win7 drivers, everything works perfectly. I use Vista 64 drivers for all my other periphrals and have no problems what so ever. I can also confirm that TrackIR 3 Pro + Vector, does indeed work fine in Win7. I have had a couple of times when the TrackIR software has crashed, but restarting the software fixed this. I am using the latest TrackIR4 software, as available on the naturalpoint website. The FPS increase and loading time speed is greatly improved (especially using the affinity trick), definate thumbs up from me.
  3. Oh go on then, seen as its you lot... After having a scan on my XP drive, i do believe it was a progam called WavePad. Here's the link for their website:- http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html I have just downloaded the newer version from the site and it is slightly different from the one i used. But it will do the job fine, u can adjust the sample rate and channels and save projects as .wav files. EDIT:- Looking into that, it has a nice "Batch File" system. Where you can load multiple .mp3 or whatever files into the program and choose you output settings for converting them all. EDIT 2:- Just to let you know, my sound files are 64kbit bit rate and i do believe i set all the tracks to mono aswell. Time for bed now, good luck.
  4. Its getting into the early hours here and i'm knackered. But i will dig out the converter for you. Unfortunatly it is on my XP system, as i am running Win7 now. I will have a hunt through my XP drive tommorow and PM you. Also, yes Wagner "Ride of the Valkyrie" is most definatly on my play list.
  5. I spent a good couple of hours with a converter, lowering the quality of the tracks so they were as small as possible and converting them all to .wav format. Once actually flying about, the "grainy" effect you get from lowering the quality actually sounds rather good and authentic radio transmission. I currently have 125 tracks in my list, coming in at just under 230 mb. With them all being small files individually and being in .wav format. There is no stutter or any ill effects when switching between tracks. Just good listening.
  6. Yeah i agree, most of the day i spent playing, was indeed on an empty map. Its just a case of re-doing the many hours/days i spent when the game was released, just flying around. Its even better when you load all your music into the Radio Mayak station, then proceeded to blitz around the sky listening to favourite tracks. :music_whistling: PS My bad habit was also caused by rotating the stick, years of flying choppers in OFP/ArmA before i progressed onto pedals. Plus i still play ArmA as much if not more than DCS, with the arcady chopper simulation in the game, the twist function is much more playable.
  7. Well after almost 8 hrs straight in the cockpit, its starting to feel a bit better. This was until i got into a very sticky situation with multiple sam launches. Scanning everywhere outside my cockpit while trying to do an about turn and get the hell out of there, i was just constantly fighting the impulse to do it inverted. Got me killed in the end like, but its a step in the right direction now. I just have to get over the "thinking about it" stage. :pilotfly:
  8. This just feels horrible  Getting there slowly though...
  9. Cheers for the replies guys. This is exactly the way i am, i need to be able to use my rudder controls without thinking about it. Gonna try a few flights un-inverted just to see.
  10. Hey guys, im just posting this as a matter of curiosity. I have a set of rudder pedals which i use for DCS. Now i always invert the input of these, so that when i press down on the right pedal the aircraft yaws left and vice versa. This just feels natural to me, where as using it the correct way round feels weird. Maybe its just because i am used to it, does anyone else do this?
  11. Sorry Viper i cannot answer your question, but could you elabarate on the MP FARP Bug?
  12. Try standing on one leg, then close your eye's  Good old pysio workouts. lol
  13. Sorry, how do i do that Sundog? Edit:- Never mind, Google to the rescue.
  14. Is there any possible fix for installing this on Vista/Win7 without installing both DCS and ModMan to a different root dir than Program Files?
  15. I tell you what, 1st mission NAV points 3 to 4. Some of the most intense bad weather flying, ive ever done. Getting buffeted about by the wind is one thing, but 80% of the section is near zero visibility. FANTASTIC!! The ruskies sure know how to make life hard for a pilot. Damn those Apache pilots with terrain radar. :joystick: Great missions m8, looking forward to getting into the other parts.
  16. Cheers guys, you just constantly learn new things with this sim. LOVE IT!! :pilotfly:
  17. Hey guys, i was just wondering. Is there a way to slave the SHKVAL sensor to Datalinked targets? I know you can slave it to predefined target points, but can you do the same with targets recieved via the DL. Thanks in advance for any help.
  18. I have to agree on the auto hover, definatly learn to perform a controlled hover without the use of an aids. Auto hover is handy, but you have to get you aircraft into a stable manual hover before turning it on. It all depends on the situation aswell, auto hover is vey useful for long range observation. But actually using it while engaging, well i would advise doing it all manually, especially in a SAM threat enviroment (Never stay static for long). You will be suprised at how stable the KA-50 is, once you have mastered manual hovers.
  19. Very true, but i would guess that decision would be made by the crew. These are the guys who fly the thing everyday, knowing the limits of the thing. It's amazing how much punishment aircraft can take and make it back in one piece. But yeah loosing a blade and causing such vibrations would probably make it unflyable.
  20. I suppose the decision to try and make it back to base would depend on the situation. In that Apache footage, its a training mission so the safest thing to do is get it on the deck asap. Where as if you were flying in hostile territory you might have to take the risk.
  21. The only plausible scenario i can think of would be a Russian invasion of Georgia. NATO units could then operate from Turkey over the boarder, to push back the Russian offensive. That way you could have Turkish units as almost a QRF to bolster Geogian forces until others arrive.
  22. Fanastic mission m8, not quite completed it yet (Due to laser targeting bug). But i have to agree the music can be annoying, maybe cut it down to play only the 1st 10 seconds or something? Thanks for a great mission.
  23. I have seen other posts similar to this, i myself have not been able to get a normal internet game to work. Try using Hamachi if its just a game between friends, works fine for me.
  24. You say you dont want to use bands on the mini-stick, may i ask why? I have the X/Y axis set to bands of 0-40% 40-60% {Deadzone} 60-100% This method works perfectly for the Shkval slew, included diagonal slewing.
  25. Yeah looks like I will have to do it in game. Its strange tho, like I said I've had it working before just using the SST software. If I do find a solution without remapping in game, will post here.
