ok, how to remove the back of the panel? the 4 screws on the back dont appear to let the plate come off once their out...and now I have what sounds like loose nuts inside of the case

anyone had issues with the hook lever on the takeoff panel? mine seems to only intermittently register the "up" button, same with middle/lower positions but less intermittent. If I move the lever slightly left/right it seems to help but this seems less than ideal. Is there an easy way to take off the back panel and check for any loose connections?

I messed around and found something that works for me. Edit this file: Change this line: to: The HUD is readable now, not quite perfect but a lot better than before. I also was able to do away with all the previous mods to make the MFD exports readable, they seem to be doing the right thing without a mod now.

You can have it both ways, use "Axis2Buttons" in the VKB config software. You might have to use one of the beta versions found in the Russian language forums either on vkb's site or the IL2 forum, I forget where I found it. Their programmer puts up beta versions on google drive you can get. I've got the round hat working as both 2-axis and 4 button+press, and depending on the module I use it either way.

+1 for an IC compatible mod. Would love to use the kneeboard in multiplayer!
