  1. +1 I pledged because ED was involved in the Kickstarter campaign. I hope they will keep the promises.
  2. I would like to know that too. Dora is selected in my personal backer page on the main site as one of the four flyables.
  3. That's the problem, hehe. When you jump into the new engine sometimes you don't know even what to ask for. :D
  4. I'm closely following the forums, I know what's going on. I'm just saying that a bit of help and good will from the devs would spawn even more community support.
  5. I know that, but the difference are public tools, samples and relatively well written wiki like BIS has, everything without the Fort Knox like NDA-wall. ;) I'm not trying to compare both products, but rather show why DCS won't be able directly compete to Arma, not without a serious paradigm shift. On the other hand, it may compete to SB Pro PE.
  6. Unlikely, not without massive community mod support. That's main selling point of Arma series.
  7. This is exactly what guys at OBD Software did for MS CFS3 with Wings: Over Flanders Fields: http://www.overflandersfields.com/Features-Campaign.html
  8. That isn't your point of DCS.
  9. FSX is seven years old :music_whistling: :smilewink:

    I bet it is. :music_whistling:

    New X:Rebirth

You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.
  12. Any news about fixed wiki or improved docs for public? Right now all the info is scattered around, and it's impossible to find all of that.
  13. This. Actually I think civilian missions (Search and Rescue series style) will be quite fun around Vegas.
  14. Following this logic, let's rename A-10C to F/A-18C. Profit!
  15. Eight. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleipnir This painting is a part of an awesome series by great artist, Glen Angus. Bucic linked his portfolio: http://gangus.cgsociety.org/gallery/
  16. Of course I understand your position, but I'm very curious how ED/RRG will handle this, and what will be possible with these tools, I'm going to play both DCS: World and DCS: WW2, it would be nice to play with these tools for both sims. That's why I'm asking so many questions.
  17. SDK won't work with DCS: World? Lets say, wouldn't it be possible to make a tiny map for DCS: World? Like Corsica from the video or even smaller.
  18. Of course I know that. I was just pointing that SkateZilla was wrong about 'the gaming industry'. I also doubt that ED will expand their support for other 3d programs.
  19. This is not true. Many of high end 3d engines uses standard 3d file formats - FBX or Collada. FBX is used in Unreal Engine 3, Unity3d, and many others. Example: http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/FBXPipeline.html FBX can be exported from 3ds max, Maya, Softimage, Modo, Blender and many other 3d packages.
  20. I understand now. Thank you.
  21. Could you elaborate a bit? What else will be needed to make new, fully functional map for DCS World/WW2? If SDK isn't enough, then what's the point of releasing it?
  22. Hopefully SDK will be released to the public later, limiting it to the Kickstarter backers only isn't very wise. But I think it could work if the SDK was available to the backers for limited time, let's say six months. As a "thank you" from the team.
  23. Let's see what Luthier is going to tell us later, then we will talk. But I also think that SDK should be public, not limited to backers though.
