quest pro user here with 7800x3d and 4090... also quest 3 user with 5800x3d and 2080ti after reformatting PC, i have learned a bunch of things out of the pain and suffering of reformat and reinstall with help from sleighzy from DCS4VR discord forums i discovered i was using quad views wrong (i thought having QV companion was enough) as of date i do the following. removed OpenXR Tool kit (or uncheck it for DCS) install @mbucchia quad views. install quad views companion set meta quest link PC app for desired refresh rate (90hz for Qpro/4090 and 80hz for Q3) AND manual sampling at 1.0 in DCS i set pixel density to 1.0 and quad views check on (gaze set for Qpro only after having eye tracking on in QPro and enable experimental app track on the meta link PC app ) here is where the my discussion of spotting planes begins. when i set sampling at 200 on the QV companion app, looks amazing in VR, but it is so hard to see a plane near you even 3-4 miles out but when i set it to 100-150, then i can see planes further away much better. i share my thoughts because i see a bunch of ppl complaining about seeing, spotting dots.. spotting in general. not here to tell ED to re-do the whole rendering situation (ive read its not ideal, i dont have much complaints for myself) but with so many VR headsets, PC systems, and associate settings.. i write this to try to narrow down what it is that others do, to maybe help ED with the whole spotting situation... TL DR, if having problems seeing small things, try to not super sample too much.. (this happen to be before and after the whole spotting dots adjustment patch)

in terms of column rows, u decide your matrix.. like 2x4... 4x4.. 2x8... i see you have 5 hats with center push.. so thats 25 buttons (u will need 2 diodes each, so 2x 5 = 10 diodes for all five of your hats) you have 2 STDP switches (looks like) so thats 4 buttons (u need 1 diode each switch, so thats 1 x2 = 2 diodes for each of ur switches and looks like u plan to have 3 buttons.. 3 diods with this thats 25 + 4 + 3 total 32 buttons. (13 diodes) so with 32 buttons, i would go with a matrix of 7 x 5 ( only because u have different components to deal with.. )

What does the Quad Views setting in DCS VR do?
hannibal replied to sleighzy's topic in Virtual Reality
@sleighzy has schooled me on the QV topic.. i thought i had good perf with QV (when i did not even have it installed), but it was really 4090 beasting it.. i just did a fresh OS install.. cant wait to see QV benefits on quest pro what it interesting is that i see the quad views tick in VR options, even though i have only the QV companion is installed, i did not install the @mbucchia QV -

i am a quest pro user.. quest pro has eye tracking.. which Quad views companion is beneficial for headsets with eye tracking (varjo pimax etc) do i still need openXR tool kit? i guess not since i already enable turbo on QVFR and turned off turbo on OXRTK... but i like to know what everyone else is doing.. also i am using quad views companion instead of mbuccia's quadviews... which quad view should i install? -

no problem. i am here. depending on the doorgun build, it will be either cheap or moderately cost.. not super expensive. i dont think it cost me a whole lot. if you make the no frills doorgun, it cheap. (the bu0386 usb controller is almost 40$ with shipping) if you make the full size M2 browning doorgun, of course will be more. anyways. my doorgun builds are here https://www.thingiverse.com/hannibal_dcs/designs

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
hannibal replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Just looking for the best vibration. A wav file that just gives alot of vibration which feels like tat tat tat tat tat. , not necessarily sounding like a real gun.. I know it's not going to kick like a real gun The default gun wav was not alot of vibration, seem more like a door buzz.. -

i dont know if im happy with files.. i know they were good 6 months ago.. if there have been updates or additional files added in the past few patches, i have to double check them again since i dont play all the dcs modules often. i do want to ask, what is the best wav file to give you a machine gun feeling (from you experience) @=Andre= -

Ok great explanation and thank you for clarification I didn't see it in the sound module documentation, only something about partnering ( i forget the actual term) I have a desparte setup with 6 shakers 4 for left right, one for the butt kicker lfe and one for my doorgun joystick so my sound solution is true custom wav files.. Sounds like have to revisit my files there has been changes in wav files in the past few months -

@=Andre= @f4l0 question. what is purpose of "location preset" drop down menu in the simshaker sound module app? i have some choices for left right speaker relative to how many channels i choose. at this time i choose 3-6 (5.1 surround) for number of shakers, and i left location preset blank... and explanation is appreciated -

MOZA force feedback base AB9 How to get started?
hannibal replied to hannibal's topic in Input Devices
i only tried out the game for a few minutes.. i tried P51 with P51 preset and it didnt feel like much. since then i spent the last 3 days mounting the joystick to my chair, and it was some effort. how ever i tried P51 with the P47 preset and there was some life. the reality (not from this example) but not all aircraft will be the same. the outputs are not going to be matching across the board, particular from my experience setting up motion simulation..i found that for example the F14 didnt have airbrake telemetry but other aircraft has. at the end of the day we have to wait for moza to improve the software, and the community to find the best settings... per aircraft.. -
Extreme oscillations in motion after shuttle hook-up
hannibal replied to BrassEm's topic in Bugs and Problems
I get wierd shudder on A10C on sway output and the F18 F14 hook ups on heave output. Via flypt Mover spike filter I was able to reduce it to a comfortable level and filter the micro spikes My motions are moderate. I will do a video during the week for f14 carrier launch and recovery -
starting this thread to gather info on how to tune moza ab9 forcefeedback base for DCS. its not going to be a one size fits all, but i like to understand how to tweak and tune. breaking down each settings if i can.. BASIC SETTINGS
