There is the PRF mode selector which according to the manual alters the Doppler Filter but you can't use STT and so fire the 530 in anything other than High PRF.
-
Would you consider releasing an early version of the manual ahead of the module so those of us without much familiarity with the airplane can start getting up to speed ?
-
The potential option to play with the extra toys in the F-1M is the icing on the cake at this point :)
-
Better equipped than I feared then, thanks. Pity not to be getting something capable of mounting AGM-114s but I think you have to go to the AH-1W SuperCobra for that capability ?
-
Have we had confirmation that it's being released today then ?
-
Am I right in thinking the AH-1F is 80s vintage with pretty much zero sensors beyond a laser rangefinder and TOW as the ATGM load ?

2021 (and earlier) DCS Newsletter Discussion Thread
Matchstick replied to NineLine's topic in DCS 2.9
Just a quick observation on F-16 pre-order discount in the newsletter - Saving 20% on $79.99 is $63.99 NOT $64.99 -
I keep them on as my feet as aren't huge and operating the toe brakes without them is a pain. Slightly off-topic - if you haven't done so already seriously consider using a damping grease like Nyogel 767a on the rudder - I found it made a huge difference to my ability to make small adjustments with the rudder without running into sticktion problems and resulting over-compensation

JF-17 vs F-16C by the end of the year would be a very interesting proposition

My tube arrived today and I already love the stuff. I was expecting the higher viscocity and I like it - gives a nice positive feel especially with small movements. It's made an even bigger difference to the TFRP pedals which had been driving me a bit mad, but now feel great (plus you don't even need to undo anything to get just about enough access to the rails). Unfortunately I could only get the 100g tube but I guess that means I have a lifetime's supply of the stuff now :)

Only taken her out for a short spin but I like her, but am I right there's no trim controls ?
-
She appears to be a sodding great radial engine welded to 3ft of fuselage - what's not to love ?

AHA the discussion was hiding in the WWII area, stupidly didn't think to try there ! Cheers for the pointers

Does anyone know anything about this new EA module which has suddenly appeared in the store and the Unofficial Roadmap thread ? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/i-16/

Now I've got Vaicom Pro working successfully (and even as a lightweight simmer it's quite stunning in use) I do have question about what actually happens with the "Select Tunes Radio" option. I'm wondering what this actually does behind the scenes in the cockpit - is it smart enough to use pre-set frequencies if one is set for recipient ? Does it set the manual tune ? Or does it use an API to set the radio frequency variable without reference to the actual aircraft settings. I ask as I'm looking to graduate to the M2000C campaign where I'm informed that managing the radios is of high importance and I'm wondering if the "Select Tunes Radio" option has the potential to complicate matters.

So, out of curiosity (and because we can all dream we might get to fly one) how would a M2000-5 stack up against the Hornet or upcoming Block 50 Viper ?
-
Cheers for the pointer on that one - ended up competely wiping and reinstalling both VA and Vaicom (once I'd worked out where my license keys were) and it all seems to be working much nicer than before - some problems with the AIRIO commands just not being recognised but that's going to be user error somewhere so I'll do some digging later.
-
OK forget that - I've found some 767a so that solves the problem :)
-
I'm looking at regreasing my TCWS throttle and the most common suggestion seems to be to use damping grease specifically Nyogel 767a - but that stuff is basically impossible to find in the UK so are there any equivalent products that are easier to find on this side of the pond ?

I'm getting a very wierd error in VIACOM When I push the PTT button and make a command (in the case of the attached log file "Nellis Select") VIACOM goes crazy aparently repeatedly logging the Nellis command then switching to continual "PTT Key not in use: check configuration." messages till I close Voice Attack. I've checked the TX1 and TX2 config and the Start and Stop commands look to be correctly set (if I press and release the buttons without making I command i hear the start and stop noises) so I'm not sure what's going on here. Yep. I have the Left and Right MFDs on Monitor 3 and the AMPCD on Monitor 2. I just set up a viewport in my monitor config the same way as the left and right devices but named CENTER_MFCD CENTER_MFCD = { x = displays[2].x, y = displays[2].y, width = displays[2].width/2, height = displays[2].width/2, } I think CENTER_MFCD is the default viewport that AMPCD uses and I haven't modified it manually but if not check the try_find_assigned_viewport value in ..\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Cockpit\Scripts\Multipurpose_Display_Group\AMPCD\indicator\AMPCD_init.lua The value I have is there is try_find_assigned_viewport("CENTER_MFCD")

I love the Yak for VR as well. It's simple and the instruments are clear which makes it a joy to fly and enjoy the experience. Plus as Fri13 said at the same time it does a good job of helping to break the bad habits I've picked up flying FBW aircraft. (C-101 is fantastic in VR as well)

Hi, apologies if this has been asked before but are there any plans to add support for the M2000C Radar, Weapon or Nav panels ?

Open Beta using Release Version Config directory
Matchstick replied to Matchstick's topic in General Bugs
Brilliant ! No idea how or why I removed this file in the first place but a new one has done the trick. Cheers for the quick answer on that :) -
I've run into a weird problem where the Open Beta DCS release v2.5.4.29585 is reading the config files from the C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS directory not C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta as it was previously. Is there a setting anywhere that controls where the Open Beta looks for config files that I can check to see if something has got corrupted ? (I've tried a standard repair without any success)
