  1. Before patch 2.9.6.57650 DCS was quite smooth, even on my non-latest generation PC. After the update I generally found consistent graphic stutter, especially on carrier deck and immediately after takeoff (Mariana + SC + F-14B). Bin-mt, NO New Launcher, Track-IR, NO MODs, Single player.
  2. Thanks for writing that. It happened to me with SC and F-14 but I forgot to point it out.
  3. I'm here too. For years, like perhaps many others, I have been waiting for the possibility of modifying the steer, speed and light's carrier. Then in 2020 the announcement of SC with a future AB deck... and now in 2024, I still find myself unable to easily change the steer, speed and light's carrier. Please, can someone explain clearly how to use the AB (Primary Flight) deck? It seems like you need to assign a slot. I essentially fly offline due to internet connection problems. Wasn't it easier to allow everyone to modify light's carrier using ME, advanced (waypoint actions) as is done with TACAN (activate or deactivate)? Couldn't it have been implemented in the F10 map, unit data window, and allowing the carrier steer and speed to be modified more accurately? Sorry, I don't want to raise controversies and useless debates, and I'm grateful for the great work done by the ED, but the question remains the same: flying offline, how do I change the steer, speed and light's carrier, going from f-14B cockpit to the AB deck? Thanks in advance.
  4. Dear ED Team, thank you so much for this substantial update. It will take some time, at least for me, to try everything, fixed, improved or new. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this update. It will certainly still take some time to fix some new problems, but the premises seem really interesting. I encountered some problems, which I will report in the specific topics. Thanks again.
  5. ok thanks, information to know, and how to disable the new launcher?
  6. Dear HB Team, thank you for this significant update, especially in relation to NEW: AB detent position and deadzone now configurable in F-14 Special Options. DLC and speedbrake now wait 1.5s to retract while throttle is in MIL or higher. Boosted F110 mid-range RPM thrust. Increased pitch effect from thrust in landing config. Slightly decreased roll power of ailerons and stabs. Slightly increased dihedral effect in landing config (aircraft will return to wings level at very small sideslips/bank angles). I have never flown an F-14, but I have been a civilian pilot of single-engine propeller planes for a few years in the past, and the sensations that the F-14 now transmits in landing configuration are excellent, also regarding the response to inputs at the stick and throttle. Only one little problem for now, mirrors no longer reflect but always remain opaque.
  7. Hello ED, just for information, is there a summer sale planned? I don't want to know a date but only if there will be. Thanks in advance.
  8. Finally this long awaited SC Air Boss ... we really hope to see something within a few weeks and not in a few months. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate everything that Team ED and even Third Parties do, even the smallest improvements, but I was really a little tired of occasionally reading some news and seeing some screenshots regarding the progress of the SC module and then wait several more months and read and see almost the same things. Anyway, thank you so much for taking this module forward into some really interesting ... and necessary features.
  9. @TOViper And you're right. Thank you very much for your kindness, patience and support. About two weeks ago, while checking some settings in the bios, I inadvertently changed a CPU voltage parameter. On exit I had selected "discard changes", or at least I thought I did. In reality I must have pressed "save changes", because today when I checked that setting I noticed that it was wrong. I rebuilt the right one and now DCS works like a charm. Thanks again for your important help. I flew the F-4E and F-14 repeatedly, no problems. Antonio.
  10. After today's patch I flew the lesson 4 basic (pilot visual landing), landed, taxied and stopped at ramp. So, I flew the same lesson twice more and each time, after about 10 minutes, DCS froze and the system automatically rebooted. Such a pity. I was really hoping to enjoy this plane even more than the F-14, but at this point I give up. Maybe some future patch will allow me to fly the F-4E too. With other modules I have no problems. edit: tonight I'm encountering the same problems with the other modules too. Until patch 2.9.5.55300 dated 05.22.2024 I had never had this type of problem with DCS. Really disappointed.
  11. last update Today I did a test but not related to the PC. I flew with my old and dear Mi-8 and then with the F/A-18, a couple of flights of about 30 minutes, without any problem. So I tried lesson 4 basics (training) - pilot visual landing again and after less than 5 minutes DCS was freezing and I had to go out to the desktop. I really don't know what to do. I hope tomorrow's patch fixes my F-4E and F-14 issues.
  12. @TOViper Monday update Over the weekend I discovered that even flying with the f-14, DCS is freezing. I didn't notice it before, because since the release of the F-4 I have only flown with this module. I believe that the problem is not related to the F-4 but to the latest DCS update patch. I carefully read the various sections in the forum (English/Digital Combat Simulator/DCS 2.9/Bugs and Problems//Installation and Operation/Game Crash/...). I checked the integrity of the RAM, video card, FAN and temperature, etc.: everything ok, no problems found. I also ran the executables from the DCS Game/distr/ folder. As far as I'm concerned, I believe that my problem (DCS is freezing after 10-20 minutes of flight) depends on the latest update patch and not on a single module. Sorry if I didn't immediately understand the problem, but thank you so much for your attention. Antonio.
  13. evening update: - I flew lesson 3 basic (pilot take off and navigation) still without any problems. - I flew lesson 4 basic (pilot visual landing) and near Kobuleti, DCS was freezing. I performed an in-depth repair (check all files), and flew again same lesson, but this time DCS was freezing flying towards Kobuleti at 22000 ft, 27 NM. But now I've two saved dcs.log files which I attach. I hope they can help identify and solve my problem. Thanks again. dcs.log-20240531-191710.zip dcs.log-20240531-184236.zip
  14. @TOViper, first of all thanks for taking a look DCS is freezing and unfortunately I can't provide further information because DCS simply freezes and I can't do anything other than click the left mouse button which gives me the option to wait for the program to close or to close the program in any case. I tried to wait several times without success, so I close the program (DCS) and go back to the desktop. Today, after an in-depth repair (check all files), I flew the lesson 4 basics (training) - pilot visual landing again, without problems, with a complete landing! I don't know if it can be useful or make a difference, but this time, during the approach to 22000 feet, I did not activate AFCS and autopilot (altitude-hold) and not turn on the instrument and console lights. Thanks again. Antonio.
  15. First of all, I don't have any MOD installed, repair done, no VR. - lesson 4 basics (training) - pilot visual landing. The mission keeps freezing and I'm forced to go back to. Sometimes a few minutes after taking, last time when abeam Kobuleti, startng penetration for landing. The following are small things: - during the first three training missions, the time on the ground before take-off is also counted as flight time. - lesson 1 basics (training) - pilot cold start, step 20a: with the function control switch (the knob) still pressed, moving the reference marker above and below the pointer, the low altitude warning light does not illuminate. - lesson 3 basics (training) - pilot take off and navigation, task 6 cruise: "... you may engage the autopilot in altitude-hold mode ..." You forgot to communicate (and to highlight in the cockpit) that AFCS must be activated first. I'm very satisfied with this plane. the degree of realism of the various systems, the readability of the instruments, the degree of immersion during startup procedures, is exceptional. Thanks again for your hard work.
  16. Dear HB, you have done an awesome job. The degree of realism, the richness of detail and the degree of immersion are exceptional. I took some time to take things slowly; for now I have only tried the first two training lessons (pilot cold start and pilot taxi) several times. My PC is certainly not the latest generation, but I had no problems, apart from some lag in communications with Crew Chief using the Jester menu (sometimes the request must be repeated). Additionally, all of the aircraft's systems that I have tested seem to work as they should, as described in the manual. Thank you very much for your hard work in giving us a fabulous plane like this. (specifications of my PC: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 32.0 GB installed RAM, WIN 10 64b, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, TrackIR v5)
  17. Yes, it's true. It would be really nice if they had already fixed the blocking issues and released the patch today ... For once, instead of postponing the patch to the next day, as always, perhaps bring it forward to the day before, i.e. today, i.e. the appointed day
  18. Buono a sapersi, in effetti è quello che mi aspetto. Nell'annuncio del 17 marzo avevano chiaramente scritto "we have made the exceptionally tough decision to postpone the release of DCS: F-4E until early Spring, with an absolute worst case scenario launch in May".
  19. Great news, thank you very much. I switched to flying F-14 because it's a splendid module, but flying your campaigns was an extraordinary turning point, at least for me. I will wait for these updates. PS I'm also waiting for the F-4E, so ...
  20. Pre-purchased whole Afghanistan map yesterday. Thank You ED
  21. As everyone prefers. Mine is just a simple suggestion in favor of those who want a sea coast from the Afghanistan map. Considering that adding a coastline to this incoming map would have an impact on performance, as already clarified by NineLine, it seemed logical to propose this possibility, because: - Zaranj is an airport already present on the incoming map of Afghanistan - based on geographical coordinates, Zaranj can be added to the Persian Gulf map (as highlighted in my screenshot) - both maps are created by ED, which also holds the rights (for modifications, additions or changes). So anyone (who wishes) can fly from the carrier to Zaranj with the PG map. And from Zaranj to all Afghanistan with this map. It could be a real possibility. That's all.
  22. You could ask ED if they include Zaranj airport in the Persian Gulf map, which is already established for the Afghanistan map, so it will also be present in the PG map. The mission could be: PG map: takeoff from carrier, landing in Zaranj. Afghanistan map: take off from Zaranj to fly wherever you want. Honestly, it doesn't make sense and it's not worth it, at least for me (and even if I love carrier based planes): from the carrier to Zaranj about 400 NM of desolate terrain.
