  1. Well, it has the same origin as the su33 problems so no surprise for anyone here. Not exactly worth it though in terms of what you can do with the time in a helo, which do not cost lives atm for either sides. So yeah, sure fixes for the life system would be nice, but honestly a10c and ka50 on both sides would be way more awesome. The life system issues do not bug me, its that we basically have to be red or break blueflag, but if we go red, we break part of our squad because a10c pilots. So yeah. Solution to that would be awesome.
  2. Funfact: We know a exploit how to reset lives on red, but not on blue. :D #giba10conredplox No seriously its really frustrating for us, if we fly blue, like wtf, pretty pointless 500 vs4. If we fly on red our A10c pilots have no job. Pretty meh choices. :}
  3. Thanks for the Kudos ! You guys did a really good job at keeping me busy up there. :D I also just finished my video on this redflag: Basically I approached the flights holistically, so I didnt cut any footage from it. I sped up the parts which are not really important for telling the story. If someone cant be bothered to watch the whole thing here some timestamps, although I do not really recommend to jump in anywhere before the second sortie. Shit hits the fan on my first sortie [currently selected waypoint beeing the east pole of the AWACS track]: Transfer complete for second sortie: Run in on AWACS during the second sortie [currently selected waypoint beeing the east pole of the AWACS track]: Way too close encounter with Frostie: Hope you guys like it, constructive criticism is very welcome. :)
  4. Super sad micro, no GCI only signups. Probably gonna take until next event then to make an appearance in this redflag. :)
  5. Congrats ! You guys really deserve the victory ! :) For the next time it would be really nice to have the ruleset under which condition the event is won by which side. So planning can be refined in that regard as we move along to greater heights of coordination complexity. :) It would also be nice to at know what kind of scoring impact the destruction of the Aggressor AWACS made and will make in the future, considering its material value is like ~8-10 times larger then the target group itself and is both IRL and in DCS a pretty vital asset in air to air warfare, and judging by the defence group it was considered as such by you as well :). And I sincerely ask to consider my AWACS kill as an airkill. If it was $random F16 AI, well who cares. But the AWACS is as said a vital asset and I do not really see how the planning I did, and independent of that in general is required, to down that thing is worth less in comparison to the work it takes to down a fighter aircraft controlled by a competent pilot.
  6. Okay guys, the turnout from my RFP was rather meh but I guess I have a plan that should be half way solid by now. [Many thanks to the guys which actually followed my request, your feedback was very helpfull ! :)] I will be on 104th TS 1 hour before the event unless something goes wrong.
  7. would be super cool if we could disable the 10minute delay on tacviews, as long as exports are off. With exports on I totally get that, but I do not see the motivation with exports of. Someone enlight me if I am blind on something here.
  8. Please notify if the tanker track changes, until the event. :)
  9. Okay ma fellow memelords, since nobody is picking up the torch on organising, I will do that, unless someone protests AND performs that task him/herself. Please head over here and, well, participate ! :D http://bit.ly/2nV8mu0 http://bit.ly/2nUYhx2 May the flying boulangerie be victorious again ! ;)
  10. I rate blue tanker naming 11/10 ! :D
  11. Does this mean the 4 people per squad rule is lifted for this round, or just the signup of multiple members by a single member ?
  12. Jesus this thread is madness :D If someone doesn't like no TGP for the start, simply dont buy it. Heatblur is all about overkill degree of simulation and they have delivered that with the Viggen as well. I would like the added capability as well, I mean hell who wouldnt like it. But I am way happier with overkill degree of simulation a properly modelled AWG9, and I expect no less from Heatblur, then some minor strike capability. Honestly I would be happier if HB goes full detail on a basically a2a+TARPS a/b tomcat and then we see a D at some point in the future. And if that doesnt happen, well F18 gonna have to do that job. :D
  13. Noice stuff. Hopefully soon with swedish thunderbolt support ! :D
  14. :D yeah that is fine, I participate in that forum game as well. Reputation system is kind of a mini game nobody even gets how the points get distributed, I think. :D But yeah we are even with that I guess. I will be carefull not to STT you to much if I ever find you ! :D
  15. Have you checked where your traffic gets trashed then ? Maybe just your ISP did break things, I mean its rare but it happend to me at least once. Not with the 104th server, but in general. Apart from that, I think its pretty legid to register to a forum of a an organisation which runs probably the most imprinting server of a multiplayer enviroment for everyone without requiring any donation etc. from anyone who wants to play there while running a DCS server is actually a pretty hefty investment thanks to DCS glorious way to host a server... And for the IP, is it your ISP or your IP. Like I really dont know if you actually checked from another address from the same address space or if you are just generalizing very heavily. There is v4 where everyone pretty much only considers non RFC1918 address space for these things, but I don't know behind what kind of el weirdo NAT/Firewall/ISP your machine is sitting so I am genuily asking what type, not even talking of v6 where there is 3 types of addresses and 3 different scopes. Then the question would be, is it really "yours" a la static ip or do you just have $consumer service from $ISP ? And yes that meme is totally mine, I love it and it did fit perfectly well and expressed my disagreement with your tactics with a little humorous sidenote. Legid reason I am answering you: My average post count per day hints that I am a pretty active forum member. The 104th thread is a pretty central part of the Multiplayer subforum together with the buddyspike thread. I am spending most of my DCS time in Multiplayer, thats why there is a realtively large interest on my side to participate here. A) Was a legid hint, the helpdesk over there is imho really good. B) Was both actually a question to figure out any non baning reason and stating that I am disagreeing with such an allegation just based on that vague information about your issue. And I stand by that. And BTW an IP is not a piece of personal information at all. One can literally scan V4 address space in 20 minutes and its per definition public as soon as you use anything. I am pretty amused to say the least. :D But here for you personally I grabbed the according section from by now pretty aged RFC 791: Security This option provides a way for hosts to send security, compartmentation, handling restrictions, and TCC (closed user group) parameters. The format for this option is as follows: +--------+--------+---//---+---//---+---//---+---//---+ |10000010|00001011|SSS SSS|CCC CCC|HHH HHH| TCC | +--------+--------+---//---+---//---+---//---+---//---+ Type=130 Length=11 Security (S field): 16 bits Specifies one of 16 levels of security (eight of which are reserved for future use). 00000000 00000000 - Unclassified 11110001 00110101 - Confidential 01111000 10011010 - EFTO 10111100 01001101 - MMMM 01011110 00100110 - PROG 10101111 00010011 - Restricted 11010111 10001000 - Secret 01101011 11000101 - Top Secret 00110101 11100010 - (Reserved for future use) 10011010 11110001 - (Reserved for future use) 01001101 01111000 - (Reserved for future use) 00100100 10111101 - (Reserved for future use) 00010011 01011110 - (Reserved for future use) 10001001 10101111 - (Reserved for future use) 11000100 11010110 - (Reserved for future use) 11100010 01101011 - (Reserved for future use) Problem is your packets will probably get discarded left right and center for using a very unusual option. Maybee thats the problem. ;)
  16. A) there is a forum section on the 104th forums to appeal bans B) What kind of IP even, your description is pretty vague for the hinted allegation.
  17. Speed+Drag is the important metric which leads to range. Range on its own in atmosphere is not a very good metric to judge missile lethality. [You can have a very low drag missile which is slow and has wings and has hundreds of miles of range and you can have a very fast missile that has huge drag which goes 20nm crazy fast and then basically falls out of the sky].
  18. Good data ! Yep, I noticed the severe drag difference once I looked at the charts over time, thats why I added the speed dropoff data points. And tbh by looking at the speed over time chart of an r27 flying through atmosphere it doesnt make a lot of sense to me from what I know about aerodynamics. And beyond a certain range I, as said, agree fully that the ER kinematic performance is way more comparable to the Aim7m then the r27 is to the aim7m. What that implicitly states though is that before that range, the ER has a lot better kinematic performance then the AIM7M. And thats not stating straight away the setup would be 'unbalanced'. Why I am at least skeptical about the statement that the ER vs aim7M scenario would produce more balanced metrics then the R vs aim7 scenario is, because I rarely see engagements happen successfully beyond the ranges where the ER outperforms the AIM7. Again anywhere where the "I think and cant prove data wise" zone begins the ice is very thin and I avoid to go there. So yeah, dunno. I am totally up for running a comparison run for a week if we can record statistics in a meaningfull way. Would be interested how it turns out in the end. :)
  19. See above for an example. Just talking about max range in atmosphere is useless.
  20. I do not think theese numbers justify your conclusion, it shows that the R27 have a pretty unbelievable drag chute built in, that works in favour of the aim7m at longer ranges while the way higher impulse works in favour of the r27ER at shorter ranges. Thats why I put speed, speed loss and range here. It is true, that at some range beyond N miles the Aim7m and the R27ER become a lot more comparable then the R27R and the AIM7M due to the way higher drag of the r27 series in DCS. But given the situation, that the R27 still has incredibly high drag and is comparable to the aim7m somewhere beyond N miles kinematically, that is implying that before that N miles range the R27ER way outperforms the AIM7M in terms of kinematic performance due to the higher impulse burn needed to equal out kinematically beyond N miles with higher drag. Again I do not make judgement about the combat effectiveness. Not at all. I do not have enough data for that. I am just questioning the numbers you use in support of your argument that aim7m vs r27ER is a more balanced setup then aim7m vs r27r. Since from a numbers standpoint it doesnt make a lot of sense. If theese numbers where in vacuum, sure then I would whole heartedly agree but given we are fighting in the atmosphere, and that drag is quadratic with speed I could not agree less. [based on those numbers, for the last time based on the kinematic performance]
  21. In what way is it nonsense, based on what data is it nonsense ? I am aware that the r27 series of missiles suffers from a big drag penalty in the DCS modelling. But thats just incredibly hard to reliably quantify and measure, so I am not providing data on that. Thats why I especially said I am not including them, so I am very interested in your explanation why anything of what I said is nonsense. Only thing I could probably have done better is said kinetic flight performance instead of just flight performance. Afaik the biggest most coherent dataset of missile flight performance I am basing my numbers off: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/de/files/1363666/ I didnt even judge if the combat effectiveness is more comparable in DCS, again I have no data on that. We could ask mav if they hold mission independant weapon sorted statistics on that. There is iirc a aim7m vs r27ER setup isnt there ?
  22. Indeed I dont and I cant really there is no good data out there on it. To consider though: 10 000ft ASL AIM7M falls under 1000kts after nearly 6NM R27r falls unter 1000kts after 5NM R27ER falls under 1000kts after 10NM. Obviously the AIM7M is better, but the ER is like absolutely not more comparable to the AIM7 then the AIM7 to the R in terms of flight performance.
  23. Just leaving that here: R27R max speed 1760kts AIM7 max speed 1550kts R27ER max speed 2280kts Thats avg across altitudes. R27R effective range ~8nm AIM7 effective range ~10nm r27ER effective range ~12nm
  24. Yeah I meant SA19 while you are engaging it with anything isdie gun range. :D Yep RB05 takes practice. Try the DYK modes. That is divebombing
