We are getting late 80s b and earlier A afaik, so I would guess not.

=RvE=MicroVAX RvE Dschoermeny Red side: M2K spacelazor carrier Blue side: AJS37 Viggen tactical nuke carrier

Oh didnt know it did not enter service, thanks for the info ! Would be nice to have anyways if the m2k side actually was built in and not left out because it was ditched. Given there are multiple datalink systema in game, I do not think its an engine limitation though [for once lel].

IIRC the Mirage has a GCI link, so that contacts from EWR get integrated into the radar display, thats afaik also mainly the reason for the 160 and 320nm scales. Is this feature planned to be implemented ?

Without the AWACS not respawning this little flanking maneuver probably would not have came to be. SARH September may come. ;)

Was flying today morning, We killed the awacs, not sure which one it was, was 4hours into the mission, didnt get message when it died, also no new awacs respawned. Was backfire ER, not sure if it was the last one its not supposed to give a message or if that is a bug still.

The RB74, is basically an AIM9l. The RB24j is basically a AIM9J, which is aerodynamically identical to an AIM9P as far as I can tell. The RB24J works as expected in game. The RB74 seeker is not working at all like a AIM9l would, but it works _exactly_ like the RB24J. Also the aerodynamic performance matches the one of the RB24J and not a AIM9l/M. This Error exists since release and it would be nice if it got fixed, since the 3D model is actually right.

** AJS-37 Changelog / Update Master List **
microvax replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Well it works too well against tanks and bunkers etc. but works not well enough against light armor, but still works okay against SAM sites etc. I would say for the moment its a good stopgap. With the JSOW stuff is probably going to change. I mean even ED will not release JSOW with initial Hornet... I think that says enough about DCS currents capability to support that weapon type. :) Looking forward to whats to come. :) -
yep the mistral missile in game is pretty broken in terms of seeker performance

Yes its intended, dcs facebook group claims mustangs new texture pack passes IC. Apart from that the hash they implemented probably just takes long over the entire set of textures. -

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
microvax replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
As long as the AWG9 can keep track of the targets its irrelevant what they do. The AIM54 is guided with messages encoded in the radar transmission. Each Missile fired gets assigned a code during launch, that way the AWG9 can support all 6 missiles without changing transmission pattern. Once the AWG9 determines the AIM54 should be within pitbull range, it sends an seeker activation command, but continues to send the target data updates in case the missile looses track again. So as long as the AWG9 doesnt loose the track before pitbull, it doesnt matter what the targets do, since its just the normal TWS scan mode with probably PPM encoded messages. And tbh lower update rate can be an advantage here. Efficiency of snaking can very much reduced by limited update rate until pitbull. -
DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
microvax replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
AWG9 has 6 independent guidance channels which all can be used at the same time. Its in the same way a one way link incorporated into the radar signal as it is with el amraam. The digital computing component in the awg9 is much slower then the apg63. But the AWG9 also has shenanigans like manually tunable doppler filter etc.. So it depends a lot on modelling. Only source I know on gimbal limits I have says its very asymetrical aka -25/+55 elavation and +/-85 horizontal. if that is true thats going to complicate things quite a bit. Scanrate is 80deg/s. -
Just checked again, was wrong, there is no option to exclude terrain textures from the IC. So I guess either the caucasus for 2.x is near or we are going to run 1.5 without textures for a while. *sigh*.

1.5.7 got [i believe independantly selectable] IC for terrain textures.

I am against a removal of forward observer at all costs. Its a very vital tool for organising a push, its is important to have a picture of what of your own units are alive, and for BRA calls the AI is a little wanky and at times pretty useless. Also helos cant call AWACS for bra or picture calls. The spotting of missiles is pretty meh but a small cost imho. Good players dont need it, and bad players are still not going to win because GCI calls a missile. We can also just try to shift to not calling a2a missile launches as a community guideline. The problem of using GCI of the enemy team has appeared a few times but we should be able to figure out if someone is doing it and then report that to admin, they can check if its actually the same person. I know how heated speculation on explotation of enemy Team GCI got on the last rounds once one side started loosing. There is afaik only 1 or 2 cases where it actually was the same guy. I do not think that would justify removing a major feature either. -
I would expect A A1 and C since all are used by the navy. And if they model one, the difference really isnt that big anymore and offers more benefit in terms of having more options.

DCS more CPU or GPU intensive?
microvax replied to SierraFox's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
1.5 is cpu limited, but thats because the engine is old and bad and will be thrown into the dumpster fairly soon. 2.1 / then to be 2.5 is GPU limited and not that badly dependant on very fast RAM and CPU. -
Kaby Lake / Z270 RAM sweetspot

Performance can harm, but its extremely rare, thats true. Yeah 980 is about the maximum one can saturate GPU wise with 1.5 as far as I know. 980Ti already not so much and my 1080 runs mostly under utilized under 1.5. Yee all good. Differences between modules are usually mostly due to the amount of scenery that has to be rendered. So the gazelle is pretty much as render intensive as it gets, vallies work the same way pretty much. Yeah true I am also looking for 70+FPS and run a 144hz panel, but with 2.1 theese kinds of FPS with the eye candy are going to be out of reach for a while. A1080TI should be able to hold like 60fps minimum and 80fps average on 2.1 my 1080 runs roughly 45 minimum and 60fps average. Overall 2.1 is promising on many levels. That all is at 2560x1440p. -

Actually pretty much yes. :D Cant make it not lag without having a way to observe the system without influencing it, which is terribly hard to do for a digital computer nowadays lol.
