  1. Why would you do that?
  2. Thanks, this is an excellent tip.
  3. Did you cry the first time? I did.
  4. This isn't a problem at all. I use VoiceAttack. If i say 'mouse' the cursor appears and I can control it with my head. I then use voice commands to left/right click or click and hold. Not as good as having a virtual hand but it works extremely well. I've binned my triples and projector setup for the Rift. DCS in the Rift with the JetSeat doing its thing is breathtaking. Triples and projectors are not breathtaking at all.
  5. Feels more like a full on simulation to me, what with my Rift, TM Warthog and JetSeat. Trying to simulate something just for fun is a bit different from playing a game, imo. It's all to do with your approach. DCS on a monitor, using mouse and KB, with the TV on in the background, in a well lite room, while chatting to the wife, yeah that's gaming.
  6. Serial #43120 Date of purchase: 13/10/16 UK SW of London
  7. Yeah, so much for Steam's promises on keeping games up-to-date. Bloatware, avoid.
  8. Yeah well, on mine, the clutch feels like the throttle.
  9. Never a truer word spoken. Funny how people throw the word 'gimmick' at VR....and then do back to their funny looking cockpits with a monitor or three for the tiny winy outside view.
  10. Rudder pedals are useless in racing sims. Nothing to stop you using a pair though, just split the axis and assign half to brake and half to throttle, then marvel at how rubbish they are.
  11. Even better, DCS should allow split axis rudder control, so people with sim racing pedals can just use those instead of having to buy rudder pedals and also having to move their racing pedals out of the way, a real pain if they are fitted to a rig.
  12. You have some conflicting axis you need to clear from the DCS controls settings. I would clear all axis and reassign again.
  13. So did I...on purpose.
  14. Actually, it's a bug. You don't even know what a DK2 is?
  15. Never had a problem in space even with my old computer. However, with my new systems, I saw a massive increase in performance on planets (lots of terrain, other wing members and huge bases) with OH 1.3 and ATW.
  16. Yeah, something not right there. In Elite: Dangerous the GPU hovers around 95%
  17. Ok, I've read our opinion on it, but I cant say I agree. I think you would just get used to the lack of tactile feedback given a bit of time. To be able to point at a switch and make it move without touching it is no bad thing and we might even see this in real aircraft one day. Anyway, the alternatives to hand tracking suck way, way more than hand tracking does itself.
  18. Another thumbs up for VoiceAttack.
  19. I believe we are already past the tipping point and DCS in VR has already become acceptably smooth and enjoyable. Of course, VR will continue to get smoother as new GPUs come out. Goes without saying.
  20. What does 'reliable' mean in this context?
  21. I get the impression he doesn't have VR.
  22. No hype, it's amazing on my system, with every setting maxed and time warp doing it's thing. Who are you going to believe, the people who have got things dialled in or the people who haven't? And if you are only interested in VR for DCS, then you have no gaming soul.
  23. ^ very interesting, but for what I like doing, I'd rather have reliable hand tracking. For example, in iRacing, green screening in my wheel would put the incorrect wheel in the car and break the immersion for me. As it is now, the virtual wheel and hands actually feel like my own.
  24. Not exactly all that simple, though, is it?
