  1. Its the same as the Warthog dual stage. No bother at all and cool with the F5 as the doors open on the 1st stage [emoji16][emoji16] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  2. I have seen a couple of comments comparing the Virpil gymbal to a Warthog, I had a Warthog for 5 years and while it did the job there is a siginificant difference between the 2. By way of explanation the center notch on the Warthog makes good close formation extremely difficult if you are in trim. I used to fly out of trim to stay out of the center notch. Unfortunatley not possible in a FBW M2K. My Warthog did the job and of the Sticks you can buy from your local retailer or Amazon it is by far the best, but it suffers from a center notch and a slight sticktion problem. The Virpil base is a completely different animal it is way superior I have the 2 dot soft center Cam and medium springs and it is a joy to use. Helo Hovering and close formation are a joy. A2G targeting with dumb sights similarly easy. The only other product comparable is the VKB gunfighter. They are both great products I meant to do a Video today but got caught up playing on Blue Flag and the 99th with some of my fellow 16agr squad. I will try and pop a comparo Video up tomorrow, but I will say right now that I like them both and they both have their merits. Virpil has on the fly adjustment, takes a standard Warthog stick top, has a great stick top already out, can be used with various extensions out there for the Warthog. VKB gunfighter has a smaller neater gymbal package which may make a difference, the gymbal has a friction adjuster so you can make the stick like a Helicopter and just sit where you leave it. You can use a Warthog sticktop but you need to take it apart and put an adapter in it. Overall 2 great products both have their plusses and honestly there are no real minuses I would happily virtually fly with either of them and both are a good step up from a Warthog if you enjoy precision virtual flying. I forgot there is one slight minus neither are cheap [emoji53] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  3. Its a shame as press the button is how it is in real life but somehow the sensitivity in DCS is all messed up. Be nice if they could fix it. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. Fwiw mine showed trackin on the US postal service after 48 hours. Usps.com Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. At your own risk be careful not to get into the threads. Another poster rocked it from side to side to get it loose but mine would not, move this was my last resort. Also when you put the new one into position make sure it is nicely lined up so you dont cross thread the small screws putting them in. Hope this is helpful. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  6. A good back seater is worth his weight in gold, at night low over the North Sea in shity weather you wouldn't want to be without him. A bad back seater is 300kg of fuel you could have been carrying. How this translates to DCS is gonna be really interesting. On the 16AGR we already have a notional crewing for the F14 from when it was gonna be out Q4 of 2016[emoji57]. We had a pretty good split of front and back seat volunteers. From experience without a set of standard operating procedures, which we dont have, operating well as a crew will be tricky but still great fun as long as you dont get too wound up when it goes wrong. Personally I am really looking forward to it operating with a crew is great fun. While jester may be just like the AI with perfect SA, if that proves the case I see no problem with turning him off for multiplayer. Just go to the TS/ Discord and I am sure you can find a Pilot or Rio. You could always swap after each death[emoji6][emoji6]. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  7. Not sure where you are but for a $1000 less you could build it yourself where I am in TX, Frys and Microcenter price match[emoji16]. Its almost as simple as putting together Lego. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  8. I did try the the hard Cam 1st but for formation I would have had to fly out of trim to stay out of the center notch. Then I took it apart [emoji16][emoji16][emoji6][emoji6] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  9. Yea I got it all done I am using the soft center 3 dot Cams and the medium springs. I have a 30 cm extension on it and it centers great with the Virpil stick top. After couple of hours using it I am very happy it took me a couple of hours to sort through the Cam swap but it is all set up now. The sensors are excellent I see the in game stick reflect every tiny movement ( way better than my 5 year old Warthog ). There is zero sticktion and formation flying is a joy. I have recommended they send them out with the soft center cam to save the Cam change Pain which I think the majority of us would prefer, tho it would be interesting to hear from someone with a Warthog stick top on it as the extra weight does make a difference. 10. Anyone swapped the cams yet. I have my Roll cam swapped but the Pitch Cam will not come out and I have tried pretty forcefully worried about breaking the whole dam thing. Ok its a pain in the Arse but to do it take a small torx put it in the screw hole be careful not to get into the threads of the mount and then lever the thing out against the Cam Gymbal mount. Also watch the logic board it has spacer washer and nut between it and the side to stop it getting bent when you tighten it. took me 2 hours to work through it all still it works. Cheers Windy
  11. Fri to say The tiny differences between these two HMD are negligent when put to the context that is requirement to learn, operate and survive in these virtual aircrafts. Is completely wrong. If someone has tried VR and decided to look at the headset available , to write them both off because you like to use a screen is a waste of the OP's time. There is a significant diffference between the 2 and the Rift wins by a significant margin especially with respect to DCS. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  12. One quick question what springs and cams does it ship with. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks good timing Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  14. So back to the topic. Rift is half the price, for DCS it is far superior. For roomscale Vive is great but of your interest is DCS there is no comparison and if you are not interested in DCS you are on the wrong forum. I have both I have 2 DCS accounts so I can fly with colleagues sitting reserve in DFW, when they fly with me I use the Vive. Its not bad enough to make me pay another $400 but its close. 15. I ordered 4/14 But it was modified that day as I added the deskmount. I need to look again for the exact date of the original order.
  16. Dam page 104 thanks I knew I had seen something. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  17. So here is a quick photos 30cm Sahaj extension from my Warthog days. I will get some serious tests done over the weekend but after an hour it feels good but as mentioned the shipped Cam is pretty hard. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  18. Ok need to find the cam change instructions as the one it ships with is too hard. I adjusted the spring tensions but over did roll so it had a slack bit in the middle. The upside was that it was still reading the stick movement in the slack zone. I couldnt get the brake to act as an axis bit I think I read somewhere it needs a software update. As to delivery I got my notification on the 5th and its here now. I live close to dfw which helps. I have had no snags with anything, I actually ordered a third desk mount as I liked the first 2 so much. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  19. Ok.my base arrived just now. Trying to find the instructions on the website? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  20. Another variable is that IRL airframes are not all the same. Some will drop a wing at a higher AOA than others , some have more thrust. Could just be that your video is of an atypical airframe, tho honestly I still think lack of Airframe feedback is way bigger factor. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  21. I agree with Sith 100% as virtual Pilot you cant help but make inputs no pilot would make due to the lack of feedback. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  22. I use them on a 1/2 inch glass desk , been great ordered another Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  23. Probably cos pilots dont stall their aircraft cos they can actually feel when they are near the edge of the flight envelope. We are flying a SIM and while its great fun the devs have done their best, but until you are in a full motion sim you need to just accept the fact that you will mess up and stall or break a wing in the SU27 cos you cant feel the feedback of a real Aircraft. I would not berate the devs because you dont see a wing drop in real life, pilots dont stall their aircraft as a rule and there is loads of feedback to tell them when they are near that point. The A10c flight model seems really good to me and I can practically guarantee that the majority of perceived errors come from our input devices rather than from the Flight models used. 24. Just recieved my shipping notification. Ordered 14 Apr. Home next 12 days should be good [emoji16][emoji16]. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  25. Yep agree AA not working for me, MSAA works but big frame rate hit this was on 2.0. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
