[RESOLVED]annoying ground load micro pauses -SOLVED
adrianstealth replied to adrianstealth's topic in Game Performance Bugs
big thanks pilot tried all of these things with zero sucess various option testing in bios, defrag hard drive, deleted and new install of DCS .....when i fly around its the load micro pauses spoiling the experience ..then i fly around same section and none as its all on the memory (i have 16mb fast memory) even if i exit to menu and go back in its still in memory and smooth i have a high end pc, use iracing and no trouble there, just in DCS I'm starting to think its a software fault??? -
ok brill thanks what is going to be different ?

what update? when ?
-
hiya is there any clue given re.next update? do they usually come once per year? or once per month etc?
-
this also happens in the version 2.0 vegas map flying closer to ground objects (towns hoses etc) there is very very distracting micro pauses whilst these load , I'd be happy for them to be gone completely or somehow block the detail loading i have 16gb ram, i7 4.8ghz, gtx 1080 this happens no matter what settings, I run with no AA & everything else pretty much low apart from this i get decent performance any idea's ? 19-7-16 SOLVED WITH THE INSTALLATION OF A PCI SOLID STATE HARD DRIVE, I STILL FEEL DCS SHOULD NOT LOAD TRIVIAL DETAIL DURING FLIGHT! I HAVE 16GB OF RAM

DCS 2.0 Nevada stutter help
adrianstealth replied to gazmonalpha's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
This seems to confirm one possible cause of "stuttering", due to the (blocking) loading of data (texture, scenery mesh details, ...). =====yes this the problem ! its on both maps coming approaching ground objects -
DCS 2.0 Nevada stutter help
adrianstealth replied to gazmonalpha's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
I'm trying to get rid of this strange stutter, I think its ground buildings etc loading because if I exit and re-start a lot of it is gone even low settings same case anyway of getting rid ?? i7 @ 4.8ghz , gtx1080 16gb ram -
I have DCS 2.0 with the vegas map, but woll start to use it when the things stuck to the center view (in VR ) goes, i think its a selector pointer (double yuk) be great if the 1.5 map can also be used in V 2.0 because i like that one better does anyone know if the 1944 map is due this year -I'll buy it even if its a beta version

Tests with Oculus CV1 and a GTX 1080 pixel density
adrianstealth replied to WindyTX's topic in Virtual Reality
thanks neils that sounds good, I'm new here so the update coming is that perhaps (guestimate) next year or next month ? i have zero idea of update frequency in dcs , I know in software some things take a long time -
my 1080 coming tomorrow, if DCS and a few other key sim titles utilise the VR alternate eye render I'll pickup a 2nd one too no idea if this gpu feature will be implemented , not sure if its easy for devs or not?

is it worth getting a gtx 980?
adrianstealth replied to Dave317's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
With conservative graphic settings and low-ish pixel setting A 980 will run a CV1 nicely ( providing your cpu is good eg around 4ghz ) I run a gtx Titan black water cooled & overclocked & get a decent VR experurnce I tried my friends cv1 with a 980ti and it was a different experience all together -super fluid Go 980ti minimum for VR , hold out for higher if you can -
Tests with Oculus CV1 and a GTX 1080 pixel density
adrianstealth replied to WindyTX's topic in Virtual Reality
Hi all I'll be getting a gtx 1080 tomorrow Hoping for a super smooth DCS experience ( in CV1 ) I think we must keep pixel density to the minimum possible but high enough for A fairly decent image = 1.4 ?? Really hoping that a DCS update will increase utilisation of this new monster gpu hardware Any tips to reduce those annoying micro-load pauses when flying in close to a new town ? -
Hi all some WW2 content along with a ww2 map DLC is much needed imo instant buy from me and my friends, is this actually happening ??

Do you get the dreaded double vision ?? Flying low and quick near buildings is most noticeable ?? -
Are we sure its not the pixel switching time of the VR displays????? This is what I thought it was but then some have claimed to eliminate it This I wanted to .......but no luck
