be nice if we could just switch towns off, eg leave airports and run ways but an option to exclude the towns , they are not optimised enough to be there

is 1.5.4 out today?

quick fix: run for a while on lower pixel density of 1.0 & start to get used to that then put it up to 2.0 ......there its heaven hey, sorted dont mention it

[RESOLVED]annoying ground load micro pauses -SOLVED
adrianstealth replied to adrianstealth's topic in Game Performance Bugs
cheers yes I hope this will sort it, although the dcs engine shouldn't try to load in this way, my 2600k is rock solid , water cooled and very stable even at 5ghz although I run it at 4.6ghz, with a 1080 it eats everything alive apart from DCS but I think everyone is having this problem ( in a rift cv1 switching to only 45fps ) single to duel core performance is pretty good on these so decided to stick with it after researching multi core benchmarks do look good on some later chips but most titles only use single to duel core I find -

Multicores for improving VR performance?
adrianstealth replied to PeachBoy's topic in Virtual Reality
DCS urgently needs serious optimisation up to the devs how they do it -
every DCS version same bad utilisation, ground textures or what ever it is I'm guessing its something pointless need to be switchable off a decent consistent fps is really needed for VR ( & vr is becoming more and more common place ) constant dips to 45fps when everything set on low no AA with a very high end system ( gtx 1080 etc ) is a no no

my gtx 1080 is eating everything alive vs my old gpu, but with DCS not much changeand bad utilisation DCS DEVS PLEASE LOOK AT THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Videos of Poor Performance in 1.5.3
adrianstealth replied to Bluelight's topic in Game Performance Bugs
a total emphasis needs to be put on optimisations for the DCS engine with a very high spec system DCS is the only title that brings it to its knees (water cooled overclocked i7 with gtx 1080 gamer X ) -
DCS seems to be the only title that people with very high end systems cant maintain 90fps all or at very least most of the time is this being fixed obviously some serious optimisations are needed for the recent hardware like 10 series gpu's and vr headsets even if certain fine textures are optionally switchable

not so much for graphics myself, optimisation and easy for a pc to run is much more important however -rain is something that needs much improvement droplets moving across glass to make visability reduced, this is something that real pilots have to deal with and would be great to introduce into DCS
-
pixel density of 2.5 is way to high, your pc is working 2.5 times harder than it should be set pixel at 1.3 to 1.4 see how you get on +is there any optimisations coming from dcs devs?

mine is defo load pauses hoping a PCI solid state drive will sort it -
but visabilty is blocked by rain so it should reduce PC graphical pressure everything seems to "it's being worked on"

I'll be interested in the WW2 throttle, happy to build from supplied parts as a complete kit just let me know when available & cost thanks -
rain hitting glass ....simple effect hi all I'm amazed how poor the rain looks in DCS world, a simple rain droplets running over glass is really needed imo

no thats performance bottlenecking in my case this is when detail is loading ....causing micro pauses -

adrianstealth replied to adrianstealth's topic in Game Performance Bugs
hi i have settings on low & no mods, tried all nvidia settings and last few drivers there is no stutter everything as smooth as butter its the micro pausing for loading thats causing the problem you'd think the latest patch would sort put these type of problems do the Devs know about this problem ? -

tried all settings ( on off auto ) of multi thread optimisation and zero effect very very frustrating, I'm starting to believe that DCS is broken software out of the gate -

I'm using an i7 2600k with 1080 with great results firestrike bench 17233 i my cpu watercooled and overclocked at 4.6ghz remember most titles including DCS only use 1 and a bit cpu cores and the i7 2600 has very good single core performance (benchmarks are good at utilising more cores) the 6700k has also great single core performance, do get a good cooler for it so you can run some overclock
