The input angle of Harpoon missile has a large deviation.
Pheonix0869 replied to kaoqumba's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Fire your first harpoon, then on the DDI with your stores page, deselect (unbox) the HPD store. Then select the HPD again. At this point, reenter FLT and UFC parameters, setup your turn point, and release the weapon. Rinse and repeat. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk -

They said something about the first harpoon tracking, but in order to fire a second you have to reset tgt data. I do this by drselecting the harpoon then reselecting. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk -
Can't get proper lock with the Sparrow in non ACM mode?
Pheonix0869 replied to imacken's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Seems like LTWS is enabled in your radar's data page, (which is enabled by default now). Depressing once with the TDC will track the target and continue scan, hence the slow refresh rate on the HUD. A second depress of the TDC will hard lock the target. You can lock multiple targets now, but only for SA. Also reducing bars and azimuth scanned will allow the tracked track to refresh more frequently... Less bouncing around the HUD. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk -

Okay, I fixed the issue... check your logs, if you see the same error as I: 2019-05-09 20:10:40.910 ERROR EDCORE: LoadLibrary failed for msvcp110.dll: (126) The specified module could not be found. 2019-05-09 20:10:40.910 ERROR SECURITYCONTROL: failed to load (mm) ./Mods/aircraft/I-16/bin/I16FM.dll.crypt 2019-05-09 20:10:40.910 ERROR WorldPlugIns: Can't load plugin module I16FM.dll Then simply install windows Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package (x86 or x64), this will add msvcp110.dll to your system, which they must be using in their security code. Cheers!

If you are getting a bra call then you know the general vicinity of the bandit and it's altitude. What I used to do is turn the plane and dramatically sweep the radar up and down. However, if you put your TDC at the right range from your aircraft... Say the bra call is 210 for 20 at 7,000 ft... correct your orientation to the bandit and move your cursor to the approximate range. If your radar scale is at 40 nm and the call is for 20 then park your TDC half the distance from the bottom of your radar display to the top. Now, to the right of your cursor there will be a high number and a low number. These are Max and min altitudes being scanned, make sure the low number is lower than the bandits alt and the top is higher. So for our example, 4 low and 8 high would be acceptable. After a full sweep the bandit should be apparent. The closer the bandit, the quicker his/her orientation will change and depending on your own altitude it may be hard to find. One tactic would be to dive to coaltitude, however you are sacrificing an advantage when you do that. With your wingman, you can leave a high guy and let the low guy find the bandit. Have the high cover keep track of the situation on data link (in the future), with eyeballs or track the low guy with his own radar. The low guy can then describe better where the bandit is to the high guy, or engage , etc. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

I'm not sure where the issue is, and this may not be a "bug". I do not have enough computer know-how to properly determine if this is my error or the software. Things to know: This error started occurring around the same time I updated from a 980ti to a 1080ti. I did a fresh install of nvidia drivers, resetting all previous nvidia configs to default. I also deleted metashaders2, fxo, and option.lua from the saved games folder and allowed DCS to re-populate them. I did a clean operation with the updater as well as a repair operation. I run DCS primarily in VR. I had an issue with the occulus headset cord so ordered and installed a new one about 6 months ago. The gist is I do not understand what the error is trying to tell me. When this error occurs DCS freezes, but skips a few frames in a loop, over and over. Then the programs crashes or has to be stopped via task manager. Here is a log file, however, there are many logs and they all end with the DX11BACKEND error. dcs_log.txt

Just a quick reminder. Engine performance from an aircraft engine will change with air pressure (altitude) and temperature. I see alot of numbers being thrown out with correlating altitudes and compared to power at other altitudes. That's not how physics or thermodynamics work. The reason that ED and third parties seek out SME is that ideal numbers from a manufacturer don't withstand contact with the real world. Today the estimations are far better due to computer aided design, however, this aircraft was built before all of that. A decent amount of variance can be be expect from the ideal estimations and real a world performance. In this case the team had access to a real airplane, and I can assume with 90% confidence that the numbers in the DCS manual are experimental values and not that of manufacturer. Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
Pheonix0869 replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
While reading 'Skunk Works', which I cannot recommend enough, I learned that our balance issues exist in the real world as well... The difference is how much development was done by the "red" side to counter "blue" air superiority. Yes, the "blue" A/G flights have a far greater advantage with precision munitions, etc, etc, but they should be facing far greater threats from the ground. Yes the "blue" fighters have SARH missiles (not atm) , but they would be fighting without SAM support from allies and against an opponent with different advantages and SAM support. I think the key to successfully providing a "fair" environment is not balance, rather unbalancing things. -

Pheonix0869 replied to Ciribob's topic in Multiplayer
I'm pretty sure nothing has changed, TJ. TJ is right though. If you take your take off altitude and find the difference between that and your target altitude, then you can set your altimeter for the expected target on takeoff. For example, you take off Creech and want to attack Nellis. You find Creech is at 500m above sea level and Nellis is 300m above sea level (F10 Map has specific info, these altitudes are arbitrary). So, while landed you would increase your altitude to 200m; while at Creech you are 200m above Nellis. This works well unless you're attacking a FARP or playing with dynamic weather (as it effect local barometric pressure, on which QNH is reliant). Another "eyeball" technique is to set your hud to the radar altimeter, find a point that looks co-altitude your intended target, fly level and set your altimeter to match the hud. This is not ideal however as most of the targets are not on level land. You could also probably do some recon in the ME or F10 map to find specific alts for Farps, etc. -

Fantastic work guys... really enjoying the mod. I do have a bug to report; it seems there must be some texture conflict in 2.x with the S-3 series A-A missile for the Mig-21... not tested in 1.5.x. Thank you again!

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
Pheonix0869 replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
It would be interesting if there was one target per team that when destroyed would prevent bombers, however would repair in 30 min or so and could not be capture. Therefore, one sneaky pilot could at least stall a steam roll until help arrives. I imagine a factory heavily guarded, but only the primary building need be damaged. I imagine a target like "Sam city" from flight of the intruder. Sent from my LG-K330 using Tapatalk -
