Thank you for your reply. I found this video which was noob friendly for me. I hope it helps others too.

I am referring to the buttons in the cockpit which have animated behavior when you clcik on them. These must exist in separate states (up, down, depressed, default) no?
-
Where in the folder structure are the icons for the various cockpit buttons lept? For example I looked in here: D:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\A-10C_2\Cockpit\Shape and found a file named A-10C-2020-CPT.EDM This file begins with the data: model::RootNode model::Property<unsigned int> BLENDING DEPTH_BIAS VERTEX_FORMAT TEXTURE_COORDINATES_CHANNELS MATERIAL_NAME def_material NAME a10c_cpt_front_cover SHADOWS TEXTURES a10c_cpt_fn_20_front_cover_diffuse a10c_cpt_fn_20_front_cover_normal UNIFORMS model::Property<float> specPower specFactor reflectionBlurring reflectionValue diffuseValue model::Property<osg::Vec2f> diffuseShift normalMapValue ANIMATED_UNIFORMS self_illum_material a10c_cpt_dash_front_emissive a10c_cpt_fn_20_dash_front_diffuse a10c_cpt_fn_20_dash_front_normal multiplyDiffuse model::Property<osg::Vec3f> selfIlluminationColor phosphor model::AnimatedProperty<float> selfIlluminationValue additive_self_illum_material a10c_cpt_dash_front_Emissive_905 a10c_cpt_fn_20_emissive a10c_cpt_fn_20_emissive_roughmet specMapValue a10c_cpt_dash_right_emissive a10c_cpt_fn_20_dash_right_diffuse a10c_cpt_fn_20_dash_right_normal a10c_cpt_dash_left_emissive I thought that plane specific images would be kept in one of the folders for the the specific aircraft but I cannot seem to find it.

I cannot find Mixed Reality > Startup and Desktop

I see the DCS modules are on sale here but not steam. Is that intentional?
-
I have two displays, one above the other. In DCS options, I see many screen config options for other configs-three screens, 1 screen an two MFCDs, etc. But there is no option for two vertically stacked screens. Is this possible?
-
When DCS starts and you jump into a plane, you are presented with the view the pilot would see sitting in the cockpit. In the A10C 1/2 there is a view option that eliminates the cockpit and just puts up the two MFCDs in the bottom corners of the screen. Is there a way to make those MFCDs smaller?

@jonny415 I use the xl and even that is too small to reproduce the DDIs (or MFCDs) properly -

thank you for the icons. The reason I use different profiles is that I want to be able to access any 'screen' (matrix of buttons) from from any other screen. That way I have a 'home' screen for flying with buttons for autopilot, weapons, and buttons to take me to a 'start up screen', left MFCD, right MFCD, CDU numbers, CDU letters- eaazch of those pages with its own buttons. If I used pages, I'd forever be 'paging' through screens to get to the one I need. -
I cannot seem to find an option for binding a hotkey to turn the hmcs power on and off. Is there one that I am missing?

so i've got a working A10 profile along with a keyboard.diff.lua file for the hotkeys needed. It consists of 7 profiles that link to each other but I am a little short on icons for the buttons. Anybody know where I can get some good ones? I've searched on the net but not exhaustively. -

Thank you jonny415 and all the others for this effort. But I cannot seem to find a profile for the A10C. Has one ever been made? Or should I roll my own? -
In this video wags sets the 'auto loft' to 30 but releases the jam while in level flight. So what's the point of selecting 15,30 or 45?

it is on steam.just search for ah-64

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
skypickle replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I am new to this thread. I downloaded Proper Neck for DCS World 1.2.6 - 1.2b In it are: All planes-modules-test 1.2.6.miz Instructions.URL (which gives a 404 error) Server.lua SnapViews.lua There is no 'View folder' as in your instructions above. I just wanted to be sure i understood so I am reading this whole thread, but you may have updated things. The location 'Example: H:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\View' has the default Server.lua and View.lua files. I guess these do not need to be modified any more? -
SOLVED: Just binding the PTT button in voice attack is insufficient. I also have to bind an active TX node to a button. So I bound TX4 (AUTO) to a button and now I can switch tabs - some of them anyway. JTAC, and notes. Even though it recognizes 'ATC' it wont go to the tab ATC. Same with Ref and AAR. JTAC however can be brought up by spelling it with the 4 letters. most of that BS above was unnecessary. Just needed to disable VR and nahimic. Even used my old export.lua file.
-
deleted export .lua file in Saved Games-> scripts dir. No improvement.

okay...made some progress SteamVR was coming up in the background (since I sometimes use VR and had the VR checkbox checked in DCS) Disabled the checkbox. Disabled the Nahimic service. Restarted VA Restarted DCS Now the kneeboard command works to bring it up However, when ever I say 'page AWACS' I get 'Extended command set is currently disabled in preferences' and the kneeboard goes away. In fact, I can get the kneeboard just by saying 'page' I clicked the VAICOM prefs checkbox to enable the extended command set. Restarted VAICOM. Restarted DCS. Now the command 'kneeboard' does nothing even though VA is recognizing it in it swindow. Even with everything running, I can go to VAICOM prefs, disable the 'extended command set' , pop back into DCS, now 'kneeboard' brings up the kneeboard but I cannot navigate to other pages. In fact 'page', 'AWACS', etc all bring up the kneeboard. But only the log pag is showing.

kneeboard not coming up in DCS Latest DCS open beta 2.7.6.13133 Latest VA. Licensed kneeboard clicked 'finish' on the vaicom option editor tab pasted the updated command set as instructed in video When I say 'kneeboard' VA recognizes the word. It also shows (awaiting additional input) shortly after in the VA window. But the kneeboard does not come up. Using the hotkeys brings up the kneeboard from VAICOM (the one with the tabs) I did a DCS repair (slow) Now, Using hotkeys I have bound to bring up the kneeboard brings up the standard one without the tabs. Other commands I have created (like 'masterarm' which sets master arm to on) work even after the DCS repair. Even confirmatory text to speech replies (like 'yessir') work How to troubleshoot this?

Since I got a VR headset, I found 'confine cursor to game' to be a help in preventing 'window out of focus' problems. However, I need to do some training on a new module so i have to watch some videos while DCS is running. I do not use VR for this. So now in DCS I have to alt-tab to get to my browser on the other monitor. No amount of clicking and unclicking the 'confine cursor to game' in the VR tab of the settings dialog can change this confining behavior. Can someone give me a solution?
